"hey, what's wrong?" dan asked softly, head turning so he could look at phil who was hugging him from behind. they were getting ready to attend a formal dinner; dan was tying his tie when he noticed a few tears roll down phil's cheeks.

"you are just," phil paused a second to try and find words to do his boyfriend justice, "a work of art."

dan smiled, pecking phil's lips, "i love you. please don't cry, you're going to make me cry."

"can't help it," phil laughed. this was the happiest he's ever been in life and everything has finally fallen into place, it was perfect. "you make me so happy."

dan spun in the older's arms so he could hug him properly, to embrace him tightly, "stop! this isn't a cry fest." phil laughed at his antics, pulling him tighter against his body. "you know what it is though? a kiss fest."

"shut up, loser," phil said lightly. he moved one of his hands down further so he could rest it on dan's butt. "i'm nervous."

"it'll be alright, i promise."

"i know, i just want your parents to like me. it's not fair that you don't have to be scared because my family already loves you." dan pressed a lingering kiss to phil's neck for comfort. the younger boy wanted to wash all the anxiety, to relieve him of these pressing feelings. "your ass feels nice by the way."

"shut up! you couldn't let one precious moment slide?" dan criticized.

"not my fault you chose to wear your magic trousers."

"you annoy me," dan rolled his eyes, straightening phil's collar before walking away.

"that's my job," phil laughed, slapping dan's ass.
