And the school year finally drew to a close. RB and I were able to heal our injuries quick enough to catch up to our lessons. We were able to pass all our exams and, hallelujah, I ranked second in the final year-end ranking.

At hindi nga nagtagal ay dumating na ang closing ceremony namin. It's just a simple event where the Top 10 students are awarded and the headmistress gives a farewell speech to everyone. 1st year hanggang 3rd year lang ang nandito sa closing ceremony dahil separate ang graduation ceremony ng mga 4th year.

"Congratulations, Ike. Good year. I am looking forward to another year with you. You still have a lot to learn in your special class with me," Professor Evanesca said after pinning a silver medal on my chest.

"Thank you po. Maraming salamat din po sa pagtitiwala at sa lahat ng itinuro ninyo sa 'kin ngayong taon. And I'm also looking forward to another year with you," sagot ko naman.

The headmistress smiled before hugging me tightly. "I am very happy for you, Ike. I will see you this June."

Pagkatapos noon ay bumaba na ako sa mga upuan namin. Nakaabang naman sa 'kin doon si Jack na may bronze medal na naka-pin sa dibdib niya.

"Nice medal, bro. So shiny," sabi niya pagkaupo ko. Jack ranked third in the year-end ranking.

"Oo na. Congrats din sa 'yo. I'm sure proud na proud sa 'yo ang Mama mo at si Janine," sabi ko naman.

"They were really glad when I told them the news," Jack said happily. "Mama told me that we're going to spend a few weeks of the summer on a vacation. I'm really excited."

"May utang ka pa sa 'kin, hoy. Magbabakasyon pa kayo sa bahay," sabi ko naman.

"Of course I won't forget that!" Jack said as he punched my shoulder lightly. "Christmas, bro. Christmas. Alam mo naman na invited tayo ni RB sa birthday niya this May. We should be there for him."

"Alam ko po 'yun. Maaga rin akong babalik dito sa Emerald. Magpapaturo pa 'ko kay Cezka-"

"Para sa Magical Mayhem, yeah. Magpalakas ka pa lalo para mas lalo akong sasaya kung matalo kita," sagot ni Jack sabay yugyog sa 'kin.

Tumawa na lang ako. "Goodluck defeating me. Maghahanda rin ako, for your info. Hindi naman ako basta-bastang magpapatalo sa 'yo."

Professor Ferrea suddenly spoke. "And the student who finished at the top of the first year ranking with an average of 94.17, Rubio Talla! Professors Elena Evanesca, Garrick Romeus, and Esmerelda Evanesca will award the gold medal and certificate of recognition to Mr. Talla. He will also receive another medal and certificate for being the Most Outstanding Elemental Student for this year!"

Agad naman kaming pumalakpak ni Jack nung lumitaw na sa stage si RB.

"Your boyfriend's looking good!" sigaw sa 'kin ni Jack sa gitna ng ingay ng mga kaklase namin.

"Shut the hell up," sabad ko sa kanya.

The headmistress also hugged RB. Sumunod naman sa 'min si RB matapos na ibigay sa kanya 'yung medal at certificate niya.

"Congrats! I love your medals!" bati sa kanya ni Jack pagkaupo ni RB.

"Thanks," he replied.

"Congrats. Lapad ng ngiti ah," sabi ko naman.

RB smiled at me. "Thanks. Congratulations to both of you, too. And Ike, remember your promise-"

I rolled my eyes. "Of cours  I won't forget. Pupunta po ako rito sa birthday mo. Speaking of which, saan ka na ba tutuloy after nito? Sa dorm or sa bahay ni Professor Evanesca?" tanong ko sa kanya.
