Chapter 67: Cat and Mouse

RB's POV

"Overload."

Ike suddenly screamed as his eyes and lightning markings all over his body suddenly glowed brightly. He fell to the ground writhing in pain and screaming.

I tried to approach him but streaks of fire and tiny bolts of lightning arched all over his body. His shirt was torn apart as ice covered his entire torso.

"STOP IT!!!" sigaw ko kay Jaeron.

"Why would I?" tanong niya. "Humihingi siya ng pruweba kung totoo ba ang sinasabi ko. And there you have it, the evidence. We will only stop when Ike asks us to. Man, the Prime Elemental state is really powerful."

I swiped my hand towards the guy behind us. Crystals rushed swiftly towards him but they just abruptly stopped midway towards the guy.

"We also did that to you earlier, Rubio. Kids nowadays can hardly control their weirdnesses. What a pity," Jaeron said.

I coated my arms with diamonds before picking up Ike's body. Tiniis ko na lang ang kuryente na nagmumula sa katawan niya bago ako tuluyang lumipad papunta sa langit.

A portal suddenly blocked our path. I immediately swerved to avoid being sucked into the swirling vortex of darkness.

"RB..." Ike suddenly said.

"Ike! Are you fine?" tanong ko naman agad.

Hindi na lumiliwanag ang mga mata niya at marka sa katawan. He's shivering a bit but he looked fine.

"I'm fine. Nasaan na-"

"Don't worry. Ako na ang bahala rito. I just need to-"

A spell suddenly hit my back. Kasabay ng pagkaparalisa ng katawan ko ay siya ring pagbagsak namin pabalik sa lupa. Buti na lang at nakahawak sa 'kin nang mahigpit si Ike.

Tumitig na lang ako sa lupa habang bumabagsak kami.

"I can't move my body!" sigaw ko.

Ike flicked his fingers and the soil below us suddenly rose to form a ramp, cushioning our impact with the ground. Nagpagulong-gulong na lang kaming dalawa pagbagsak namin.

"Are you fine?" tanong agad sa 'kin ni Ike.

"I think I broke my leg," I said, wincing a bit when I tried to move my left leh.

Agad akong inalalayan ni Ike na makatayo. Sa isang malaking bakanteng lote kami bumagsak. Nakapalibot sa lote ang mga abandonadong building at pabrika.

"Do you have any idea where are we?" tanong ni Ike.

"I don't know. We need to get out of here. We're too exposed out here in the open," I replied.

Binuhat na lang ako ni Ike bago siya dali-daling naglakad papunta sa mga abandonadong building.

"We're no match to Jaeron. Aside sa mas may experience siya kesa sa 'tin, Temporal Weirdo pa siya. Kailangan nating humanap ng tulong. Do you have a phone?" tanong niya sa 'kin.

I shook my head.

"We need to find help," he said.

I just stared at Ike as he carried me. The usual expression of half fear and half determination was painted on his face again. Nagpunas na lang ako ng mga luha ko bago ako tumitig palayo.

"Why are you crying? Masakit ba 'tong paa mo?" tanong niya.

"No. I'm fine. Hindi ko lang akalain na hindi mo pa rin ako iiwan kahit na-"
