Chapter 39: Term End

"START!!!"

We're having Combat Education today. Our activity is a combination of combat and rescue operations. The class was divided into groups of four and we were tasked to rescue our trapped classmates while fighting the scavengers. Fifteen minutes ang allotment time.

And this time, aside sa nakadepende sa kung ilang tao ang maisasalba namin, meron ding panel na mag-e-evaluate ng technique at strategy ng bawat team. Sina Professor Romeus, Professor Sivera, at Professor Evanesca ang nasa panel. Ito na rin kasi ang huling major activity namin bago ang final exams. Oktubre na rin kasi at patapos na ang sem.

And for the first time ay nakagrupo ko si RB sa iisang team.

Well, mula nung may nangyari sa 'min ni RB eh tila mas lalo pa siyang dumikit sa 'kin. Kahit gustuhin kong mainis sa kanya eh wala na akong magagawa dahil nangyari na ang nangyari.

Our two other teammates are Philip and Aliyah. Philip is a Transfiguration Weirdo with Animal Transformation as his weirdness. He can transform to any kind of animal and enlarge them at the same time. Aliyah, on the other hand, is a Morph Weirdo with Flute Lullaby as her weirdness. She can put anyone to sleep using her flute. Kaya rin niyang mang-hypnotize gamit 'yun.

"Hey, are you sure you're okay?" tanong ko kay RB habang nagpapatalon-talon kami mula sa mga tuktok ng mga puno.

"I am. Ilang ulit mo na ba akong tinatanong niyan?" tanong naman ni RB.

"How should I say this... Pakiramdam ko may pananagutan ako sa 'yo dahil sa nangyari sa 'tin," sagot ko.

"Of course there is. Nine months from now you are going to become a father-"

"IN YOUR DREAMS!!!"

"Guys! Over here!" biglang sigaw ng pamilyar na boses ni Jack.

Nasa gitna ng dalawang landslides si Jack. Agad naman kaming lumapag sa kinalulugaran niya.

"Philip, go."

"Okay..."

He transformed into a gigantic eagle. Pinasakay naman namin si Jack sa kanya.

"It's going to be a bumpy ride, bro. Philip and RB will bring you to the safe zone," sabi ko kay Jack bago ako bumaling kay RB. "And take care of Jack. Aliyah will play her flute para mahanap ninyo kami agad. Hurry up. Go!"

"Roger, hubby."

I just growled at him.

RB's usual crystal wings sprouted from his back before the two of them launched into the sky. Bumalik naman kami ni Aliyah sa paghahanap sa mga natitira pa naming mga kaklase.

The terrain suddenly changed. The mountainous setting transformed to a tropical beach.

"Sina Asha at Gael na lang ang hahanapin natin. And there's still ten minutes-"

A couple of scavengers suddenly appeared behind us.

"Aliyah!" sigaw ko bago ako nagtakip ng mga tenga ko.

An ear-piercing, high-pitched whistle suddenly filled my ears. The scavengers who were about to attack us suddenly halted and became restless. Maya-maya pa ay biglang sumabog 'yung dalawang manikin.

"Nice, thanks."

So far ay wala pa kaming seryosong nagiging kalaban. Aliyah will just play her flute and presto, the scavengers explode in no time. Kailangan lang namin na magtiis sa napakatinis na tunog ng flute niya.

She can play soft sounds with her flute but it will only induce sleep to our enemies. Mas okay nang wasakin namin sila kesa sa patulugin lang.

We were able to rescue Asha and Gael before the time ran out. At dahil doon ay naka-perfect kami sa activity ngayon.
