Not everyone were back in the caves when evening fell, Mara spent half the time with Pan at the sea and spent the rest with her tentmates at the river and the caves. The evening was breezy, the weather seemed to be slowly changing and a new season could be approaching. But the boys say it's always summer, Neverland is always green, nothing changes.

Most boys had seen snow long ago, long before Neverland found them, the rest had never. Mara has, it snowed where she spent her childhood, where seasons changed but when she left home, she never saw snow again.

Things in Neverland had seemingly changed in Mara's view, the boys weren't the same as she observed around, all of them smiled everyday but now not all of them were. Those who were quiet showed sullen and desolation which was unusual to see, barely any of the boys looked spry. It almost made Mara sad and wished she could do something to make them all smile.

Pan wasn't here to make them smile, to have them play a game, to have them to have fun. Pan was one of them who looked sullen. She was still shocked from what Pan had told her, the truth about Neverland and his past. A friend he once had, a very close friend who betrayed him, who's name was Bishop and then became a pirate. Calls himself Captain Blackbeard.

Captain Blackbeard is a vicious man as what James said. James was tormented by him until Pan rescued him. Mara remembered what James told her just within a week after her arrival, it was that day when he first trained her in the meadow, he mentioned of Pan's friend, how he doesn't talk much about his friend and James assumed Pan's friend is dead. That means James doesn't know that Captain Blackbeard is Pan's old friend.

Mara glanced over where James was, watched him stepping out the cave and she decided to follow him. When she was outside, she found him walking down the steep hill toward the main ground but stopped midway and sat down. She was hesitant for a moment before approaching him.

"You alright?" She asked as she stopped beside him.

James's gaze remained toward the forest, he nodded, "I'm alright"

It was clear that he wasn't, she wondered what he saw in his nightmare. She talked to Tootles about his nightmares, how he watched his mother die and there were monsters coming to get him. The poor clumsy boy said it was horrible. She hugged and held him when his eyes began to fill with tears and she didn't let go until Tootles spoke again.

"That's what I keep hearing" Mara sat down. "You, Curly and Slightly, but poor Tootles cried a little"

"I'm alright enough not to cry" he assured.

She stayed quiet for a moment before she could ask, "How bad was it?"

"Enough to terrify me for the whole day I guess" he replied. She saw how James was today, how he seemed he was out of the place like he was in someplace else. "I was back in that ship. Captain Blackbeard's ship. I saw Slightly, Curly, Tootles, Twins, Nibs, nearly half of the Lost Boys... the rest were gone... dead—"

He doesn't mentioned Mara and Pan, she assumed she and Pan were dead in James's dream. Like in her dream, only she was the last person alive before being slaughtered.

"Like what he did to me before I came to Neverland, he tortured us all"

Mara could tell James is deeply afraid of the man who tortured him, he talks like as if Captain Blackbeard is his worst fear, he hoped he wouldn't see him ever again, he said that once. But Blackbeard is coming back to Neverland soon. What's he coming for?

When James glanced back over his shoulder and see if anyone was near then turned his head back forward. "In my dream, he was making me kill one of the Lost Boys. Just like how he made me killed a man once"
