Piper stared at me, not bothering to hide her shock.  "I had no idea what you went through."

"Because I ignored my pain, I forgot that it was my fault until Gaea decided to use it against me.  I'm going to get her back for it."

      "You know," Piper paused.

"What is it?" I asked, no longer afraid of the answer.

"Since the doors of death were opened, many souls have escaped.  It is possible that is she is alive," Piper explained.

Hope filled me at the thought of meeting her again.  "It's a possibility..."

Although Piper hid it very well, I could still feel her pity.  I felt like a kicked puppy when people pitied me.  I wanted to hid in a dark corner, but that would show that I was not fit and that I should just go back to Camp Half-Blood.  I could not allow anyone to think that I and not able to continue.

"I'm going to the deck," I said as I got up.  I walked over to the dresser and put baggy jeans over my pajama shorts and a sweatshirt on.
