Alyssa Mells POV

"We're staying here tonight - that okay with you baby?" Axel asked, my face heating at the pet name.

"I'm cool with that." I smiled, cake sitting happily on my stomach. "Kiss?" I asked bluntly, wrapping my arms around his neck. As my mate - he did so without complaint. He's like my little man slave.

Nothing odd had happened this sixteenth birthday - for once the Allisons had a normal, no mate finding, birthday. It felt relaxing as Amy had dubbed herself 'no mate' to better understand things.

"Save it for the bedroom." Amy scoffed, standing in the kitchen. Wr hadn't heard her come down the stairs.

"Well - you save it for the - um... someone who - uh?" My face heated, yeah I was bad at this.

"Good try Als." Axel patted my head before playfully shoving Amy aside. "Excuse us, we're going to take your input to heart." Axel smirked, grabbing my hand and dragging me towards the stairs. My mouth and eyes wide-open.

"You wish Allison." I snorted, adding a lot more quieter to him. "Heck no am I doing anything freaky in your parents house." Axel turned his head to me and pouted. "Puppy eyes don't work on these sorts of things Axie." I snorted, pressing a kiss to his cheek. "Plus - Mollys in your room right now." Axel groaned, letting me drag him into his old bedroom.

"Hey Als - about the whole marking thing..." he trailed off, knowing he had got my attention.

Marking. I've wanted to mark him since my sixteenth birthday - but he agreed to take it slow. Adapt.  I don't care when he marked me - I don't even know if he wanted me to mark him back. When a werewolf is marked - the bite turns into a small swirl like symbol that becomes a more of a birth mark. Thankfully not leaving the whole bite left in the shoulder. And it didn't hurt - Rosie had assured me of that.

"Yeah." I breathed out, sitting down on his bed. I had never slept in Axels room before my sixteenth birthday - but after that wonderful night - he was always by my side.

"I know you want to mark me to..." I froze, eyes widened. What if he didn't want me to mark him? Most male wolves don't even think about it. "I - Als I want you to mark me when the times right." He brushed a piece of hair behind my ear, sitting down beside me. "I am yours, remember." He mumbled, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. Dorkily, I smiled. This I could live with - had been living with for five months. It had taken a while - but now we were more invested in the idea of being mated.

It was never that I didn't trust Axel - but I wanted to see what it was like before he practically bit me and gave me a tattoo. And once marked, well - considering I've been living with Axel and more foods and a lot less stress about my family - I'm a lot more physically healthy - my wolf senses have been getting better. Meaning I'll have a mind link a lot more stronger. I know Axel - he'll randomly contact me while I'm in a bloody test to ask if I left the stove on. He is hopeless - at least he's handsome.

"I'm going to have a shower." He pressed a quick kiss to my lips before slinking out the door. My fingers brushed my lips - a goofy grin on my face. Wow - that is still something I'm never going to get over. My best friends brother and I - wow. Gosh darn Axel.

Waiting for him to come back, I sprawled out across his bed, closing my eyes. Unlike Axel I hadn't waited till the last minute to take a shower.

My mate was an idiot. But he was my idiot. - practically just summed up our whole relationship.
