"Hey Boggy, it has taken me a week to say this, but I gotta ask you show you something," Cal pulled out his phone and opened his messages. By the look on his face it wasn't going to be good.
"Go on," I whispered.
"Chris.. He's been messaging me. Apology after apology. I- I was too scared to bring it up. I remember how you had reacted to when you first saw him at Joe and Caspar's house party. I just- I'm sorry Harry."
I took the phone from Cal and remained silent. I read through all the messages Chris had sent.
"Why didn't you show me these earlier?" I asked. One of the time stamps on the message read 11 March, 2016.
"I- I told you I was scared," he mumbled.
"Look, I think it's great Chris wants to get to know me again. He's a good kid. I'm just- not ready. Part of me was lost in my sister and Chris. It still hurts."
"Harry, I'm not in the place to say this, but hear me out please. Getting to know Chris might heal this. You have to address a wound to actually heal it, Harry."
"I'm just- I'm scared to. I'm scared I'll lose part of myself in attempt to regain it."
