Misty

"Wazzamin sweet face."

Looking over at the door, Aug came walking in.

"Ya man got food!" He smiled.

"Nice." I nodded as I adjusted my glasses on my face.

"Watchu up too." He sat, handing me my fries.

"Looking over some bills and mail." I ate.

"Oh aight." He nodded as he ate and picked up some envelopes.

Grabbing my nuggets, I looked up and saw him with a questionable look on his face.

"What's that?"

"You applied Nai fa a dance school?" He asked holding up a packet.

"No. Gimme let me see." I pushed the nugget in my mouth.

Dusting off my hands, I opened it and pulled out the contents. It had some brochures and magazines in with some papers.

As I grabbed the papers, Aug took up one of the brochures and went through it.

"They want Nai." I managed to say.

"Huh?" He looked at me as I looked at him.

"The Nine Dance academy wants Naima, they giving her a full scholarship."

"Really?" He said surprised.

"Yea. Apparently they saw her performance earlier this year and loved it."

"Misty this school is in Canada though!" He spoke as he looked at the main magazine.

"I know babe." I laughed lightly.

"Oh right." He laughed. "So what we gonna do?" He asked.

"Hold on." I told him as I kept reading.

As great as this opportunity is, I'm not ready to let my baby go.

"Ok. This here says its an open scholarship."

"What that means?"

"It means that from next year, she can accept when we're ready."

"Oh ok and what you want to do?"

"What you mean what I want to do. I don't want her to go." I looked at him crazy.

"I know babe, I was only asking." He laughed at my reaction.

"I mean it would be great for her and her overall progress but I'm just not ready for her to go yet. I just got home."

Aug sat there looking at me like I was crazy as he bit into his burger. I'll admit, I got a bit emotional but she is my baby.

"Ion want ha ta go either so we got a choice. Either we put this away and don't speak of it till or we tell ha and give ha the option ta decided."

"You know we don't keep anything from her."

"I know." He nodded as he chewed.

"So I guess when she gets home then." I sighed.

"Yea." I nodded.

"Let me get a bite in your burger." He asked me.

Staring blankly at him he just smiled back.

"Aug you haven't even finished yours."

"I know but I just wanna taste yours to see if its tha right thing." He stretched for my bag.

Snatching it up, he pulled back and looked at me.

"You been smoking?" I looked at him.

"Maybe." He smiled broadly.
