"Dude remember 11 am," the text message reads from Javier the next morning.
"Yeah I got it, on my way now," the texts back leaving his sister's house after dropping Mackenzie off.
Liam pulls up, Javier in the parking lot pacing around in dress pants and a nice shirt.
"Bro, what's got you pacing?" Liam asks.
"You and your new baby girl."
"I'm adjusting just like you man."
"Yeah well, you're the owner. I work for you."
"Why are you stressing?"
"Because I've worked for you for five years."
"Your point?"
Javier shakes his head going inside, Liam follows. The two men walk into the conference room and sitting down.
"It looks like someone ran you over," Javier says.
"I'm fine," Liam laughs, "just a rough night with Mackenzie."
"Sloane isn't helping?"
"She isn't returning my calls, and I called her phone the other day, and some guy answered."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah, he hung up. I haven't talked to her."
"Weird? Ya'll have a fight or something?" Javier asks.
"I thought we were going great," Liam shrugs.
On the way home from the meeting, Liam tries to call Sloane once more but striking out.
"Yeah?" the same guy answers.
"Is Sloane there?"
"Why? Who's this?"
"Listen, bro, I've already told you who I am. I'm Sloane's boyfriend. Now where the hell is she?"
Liam hears the man laugh and the line going dead.
