For andasavebyturco, hope you'll like it! I had fun writing it :D

Also, thanks to rachlove32 I know John Harrington, #28 in the USA Olympic Hockey Team 1980, used to coach our national hockey team in years 2009/2010 ^^

On the day of your birthday your phone keeps ringing and you get messages from people who you don't even like. But there is no message you are dying to read... your best friend Jason Dickinson, who is currently in the United States, more accurately, in Texas, hasn't texted you yet. No matter how busy you are on eachother's birthday, you always find some time to write a funny birthday message or sometimes, you even find enough time for a call. But apparently not tonight.

You sit on your bed motionlessly until your mother calls you downstairs for a family lunch for your birthday. You sigh and get up from bed, when the phone lights up and Jason's number appears on a screen. Your fingers shake when you slide them over your screen to read his message.
"Happy birthday, Girl *(: J xx"

Shocked stare lays on your face as you keep re-reading his message. Of course you are happy he found time to write you, but you still wished for something more. You drag yourself downstairs and before you enter the dining room, you put on a fake smile.

"Here's our birthday girl!" your dad pulls you into a hug. You wrap your arms around him and hug him back. Next is your older brother, who ruffles your hair and grins as you look at him with your eyes squinted.

"Jason! You are finally back home! Come on in, dear boy."

You freeze when you hear your mother say Jason's name...this cannot be. He cannot be here. Not with all his hockey duties. But he is here.

"Thank you, miss Y/L/N. And thank you so much for inviting me over for a day."
"You can't stay longer?"
"I wish I could, but I have an important game soon. Y/N!" he exclaims, huge smile plastered on his face. You stomp over to him and try to punch his chest, but instead of him feeling any pain, your knuckles cry in pain: "Ouch. You hurt me, Jason Dickinson."

"Nice to see you too. Why did you punch me?"

You look at your mom, who gets the clue: "I'll just leave you to talk for a bit. But make it quick, lunch won't be warm for long."

"We'll be quick, miss Y/L/N," Jason assures her and looks down at you: "I promise."

As soon as your mother leaves you, he repeats his question: "Why did you punch me? What did I do wrong?"
"You could've given me hint you are coming over, Jas!"

"Your mom asked me not to. You know I would have told you."
"My mom? That was her idea?"
"Well, yeah. She wanted to surprise you and I guess she did it. Now, I am hungry. Shall we continue this later and grab something to eat. I missed your mom's cooking so much."
"Sure thing," you smile and blush slightly when your stomach rumbles loudly. Jason starts laughing and gently holds your elbow as you walk to the dining room.

"Well, well, well, if isn't that the great Jason Dickinson!" your brother exclaims and gets up from his chair. He pulls his friend into a hug and turns his face to you: "Finally got a boyfriend and you wanted to hide him from us?"

You blush like crazy and look away from Jason and your brother. Jason breaks an awkward silence: "Actually, your mother invited me over for Y/N's birthday. Y/N had no idea about it."
"Glad she did. Georgetown isn't the same without you."
"Thanks, man, but I will be staying here for a day only. I am leaving tomorrow evening."
