This one is for maattamartin , I hope is close to what you had in mind :)

You've been spending another afternoon at your boyfriend's apartment. You've been together for seven months, but moving in with him was not an option even though you are madly in love. Partly because you were both young, but mostly because you agreed moving in together would be a huge commitment for both of you.
It was just another ordinary day at his place when you hear him reserving airplane ticket to Finland over the phone.
"Y/N!" he calls you from bedroom after he finishes his reservation, his voice with adorable Finnish accent sounding like the sweetest melody to your ears.
"Yeah, Olli?" you ask when you come to his bedroom.
"Uh, as you may heard, I was reserving a plane ticket to Finland... I am going home for some time, visit my family, friends, things like that. I haven't seen them in a while."
"When are we leaving?"
"Baby, I am so sorry, but I really would like to...you know, maybe go alone? Uh, I am so sorry if that sounds mean, but..."
You shut his babbling lightly: "Hey, I understand if you don't want me to go with you. I'd probably do the same. And I am really not mad at you for not wanting to take me with you. I completely understand you want to be alone with your family for a while."
His structure towers above you as he pulls you into a warm and loving hug. His lips touch your forehead lightly and he whispers: "How did I get such an amazing girlfriend?"
"You got lucky," you smile and step on your tiptoes to reach his nose.
"Winning a lottery is luck. Winning playoffs is luck...mixed with talent and hard work. But dating you...that's what I call a miracle. A true miracle."
You giggle and push him away: "Don't exaggerate, Olli Määttä. You need a hand with packing?"
"It's okay, thank you. I don't have much to pack anyway."
"Okay. If you need me, give me a call. I have to go home for a bit, otherwise my mom's gonna give me hell."
He lightly bites a tip of your nose before he turns around and starts taking out his clothes.
"I'll text you later," you hug him before you head out and to his living room where you left your hoodie when you arrived.
He peeks out of his bedroom shortly after: "You better comb your hair. After all, we don't want entire Pittsburgh to know we are together."
You blush lightly and head to his bathroom again to comb your long hair.

"Hi, mom!" you yell as soon as you step through the door of your house.
"Where have you been?"
"I was at Olli's. I told you I was going to watch movies with him."
"Must've been a long movie if it lasted for seven hours..."
"We were watching extended versions of Lord of the Rings."
Truth be told, you only watched the first movie, Fellowship of the Ring, before you moved to his bedroom for another two and the half hours. But your mother doesn't really need to know that. She has never met Olli and she still believes you two are just friends.
She looks at you with her eyes squinted and continues: "Dinner will be ready in thirty minutes, okay?"
"Okay, mom. I'll be up in my room."
You close the door of your room shut and crawl under blankets for thirty minutes.

After the dinner, you offer your mother help with washing up the dishes instead of her. Gladly, she accepts your help and before you start doing dishes, you pour her a glass of red wine. You take it to her and you see her already curled under blankets and watching Desperate Housewives. She's been watching them since your father left her with no explanation.
"Thanks, sweetie," she looks up at you and smiles lightly.
Ten minutes pass before she calls you by your full name: "Y/F/N!"
"Ye-" you yell on your way from the kitchen, but the rest of the sentence remains in your throat when you see Olli standing on your door stand.
"Olli?"
"Good evening, miss Y/L/N. Hi, Y/N."
Unable to talk, you nod your head while your mother asks: "You must be Olli Määttä, am I right?"
"That's right, ma'am. Nice to meet you," Olli shakes your mother's hand and continues: "I was just wondering...can I borrow Y/N for a bit?"
"You mean, take her on a date?"
"Uh-"he nervously scratches back of his neck and blushes a bit: "Something like that, yes."
"You may, but she has to be home in...let's say two hours, okay?"
"Thank you very much. I will personally escort her home."
"Fine. Y/N, I'll finish in kitchen, okay?"
"Thanks, mom."

You've never dressed faster than today. Even though you and Olli have been together for seven months now, he's never worked on that much courage to show up on your door.
"Do you have a hoodie? It's pretty cold outside," your mom explains when you are nearly at the door.
"Sure thing. Mom, I'll be back in time."
Olli takes you to a nearby park, away from the traffic and city lights, out of everyone's sight. The entire park is bathing in a moonlight and there are no sounds to be heard. You sit down in the grass and cuddle. Your mom was right- it's pretty chilly outside, but his body next to yours warms you up. He gently takes your small hand in his and you lean on his shoulder, inhaling that familiar scent of his.
"Are you cold?"
"Nah, I am just fine. Thanks to you. What about you?"
He chuckles quietly and you feel his body twitch in waves of quiet laughter: "I am sitting under starry sky with my favorite girl leaning on my shoulder. I think there is no place I'd rather be."
"You are so cheesy?"
"You made me this way," he pecks your nose.
"Well, maybe I really did," you kiss him back.
"Listen, I feel really bad for leaving you here when I go to Finland..."
"Don't bother. Really, I am not mad. As I said, I'd probably do the same. I can't imagine how does it feel being separated from your family for so long and living so far from them."
"You get used to it. A least, things are easier a bit. But coming home feels different than their visits here. I get to see Finnish nature, lakes... everything that means home to me. Y/N, I promise I'll take you to Finland one day and introduce them to you."
"You think they're gonna like me?"
"I know they will, hunaja," he says, calling you honey in Finnish. He gently kisses you, his hands on your back and yours on his chest. He pulls away and lovingly tucks a lock of your hair behind your ear.
"Olet kaunein tyttö olen koskaan nähnyt," he mumbles, making your heart melt. He's told you you are the most beautiful girl he's ever seen multiple times and your heart still flutters when he says that. Especially when he says it in Finnish.
"Minä rakastan sinua, Y/N."
"Minä rakastan sinua, Olli," you repeat after him. So far 'I love you' is the only thing you've learnt in his native language and he loves it when you speak Finnish: "You are so cute when you speak Finnish."
"Well, I have the best teacher. But I should learn some more phrases before you introduce me to your parents.
"We can start right away. I tell you a word or a phrase, roughly translate it to English and you repeat it."
"But- I-"
"You are going to do just fine, trust me. So, let's start... On mukavaa tavata means 'It is nice to meet you'."
"On muk-... It's hard. Olli."
"You can do it, baby, I know you can. Here, I'll repeat it slowly. On muk-avaa ta-va-ta."
Your second attempt of speaking Finnish turns out better, but you ask Olli to repeat it once again.
Grinning, he repeats it and after you succeed in third attempt, he attacks you with kisses and tackles you to the ground. He finally kisses your lips and gets off you.
"So, I am leaving tomorrow afternoon," he says quietly after few moments of silence while gazing at the stars. His hand covers yours and for few minutes silence lays upon you two once again, both of you looking up in the night sky.
"Don't forget me."
"I could never do that. You are the only one for me.
"You complete me, Olli," you mumble quietly, your gaze still to the sky.
You finally look at him. He is now sitting next to you, his eyes already on you.
"I-Is everything okay?" you ask, suddenly nervous.
"Y/N, I-I have to do this," he pulls out a tiny velvet box out of his pocket. You gasp loudly and cover your mouth when he opens the box, revealing silver ring with a pink diamond and your and Olli's initials engraved.
"Don't worry, it's not an engagement ring. But with this ring I promise you I'll never leave your side. And I promise I will come back to you."
"Olli!" you wrap your arms around his neck and kiss him. He kisses you back quickly before pulling away however, not letting you out of his embrace.
"We should go now, kulta."
He stands up and pulls you on your feet. Hand in hand you head towards your home. Before entering your house, you kiss on the porch for a while.
When he lets you go, you quickly slip the ring off your finger before entering the house. After all, your mom doesn't know that was not your first date with Olli and explaining would take some time and energy.

I was using Google translate and I hope the translations are okay. Please, no offense to any Finn who is reading this, but if it's wrong, please, let me know!:)
