Why Did You Leave Me?

It's been 20 years since I was changed and I still use the little house that I woke up in as a safety point for me to go to. I haven't found anyone to travel with so I stick to myself mostly. I have developed my own powers over the years and I have three original powers. They are: a mental and physical shield, the ability to control the elements, and being able to take other vampires powers by just touching them. The Volturi check up on me every 2 years or so. The guard that they usually send is Jane. Jane has become like a sister to me because even though they check on me rarely, I go to visit them as often as I can. They want me to join them but I love to wander around the world a lot so I can't be an official guard. I think of the Volturi as my family now instead of them. The Volturi know about my past and they understand why I'm normally gone when they check on the covens.

Today was different though, when Aro asked me yet again if I would like to join the guard. I said yes instead of my usual no thank you. Aro looked about as happy as a 5 year-old child on Christmas morning. Jane automatically ran in with a robe having heard the conversation and she looked even happier then Aro if it was possible. I was given a black robe, a blood red mini dress, and a Volturi crest. They allowed me to still hunt animals as that was the one condition I demanded. I learned that there were visitors coming soon and that I should hunt. I have the power of teleportation from a nomad I once fought so as soon as Jane got me a change of clothes I teleported into the forest.

In the forest, I started to hunt my favorite meal, deer. After I had my fill it was only then that a smelled the scent of a coven. It didn't seem familiar but a there are very few covens that I haven't met. I teleported back to the castle to find that the visitors weren't here yet but were coming soon. I went to my room and changed into my new uniform before the coven got here. I made it to the throne room with 2 minutes to spare. Aro placed me in the front, behind Alec and Jane but I was still hidden from view.

The coven was hidden from my view as I'm shorter then Alec but taller then Jane, and Jane pushed me  directly behind Alec. As soon as Marcus and Caius get here the meeting will begin. The coven is standing outside the door and is feeling hostile, feeling emotions is another power I possess. Marcus and Caius enter the room and Aro greets the coven warmly. Only then do I realize why I'm hidden and why Jane pushed me down. It's them, the ones who left me and never came back. Aro continues to chat but when they ask about The Volturi, Aro remembers to announce my arrival. Aro calls me to him and I walk towards him while everyone gasps except Jane and Aro.

I look at them and greet them. They all just stare at me in shock. Some of their faces were quite hysterical. I go up to Aro and whisper in his ear that I must leave. Aro gives me a knowing look and nods his head slightly. I start to walk out but they start shouting questions at me but one is most prominent " Where are you going?"

" Oh, now you care about me?" I snapped sarcastically. I turn around and start out the door when he steps  forward and grabs my arm. I don't think when I use Jane's gift on him and utter "Pain." He crumples to the floor and I teleport knowing that mine and his pain will stop when I leave.

I teleport to the only place I can think of....... Forks. It's time to visit my dad.
