Caution: this chapter is slightly graphic.J

I woke up in a dark cold room. I was bound and gagged. (Someone clearly didn't want me to go anywhere. My head was bandaged. I saw a white piece of paper a little under the door I crawled to and tried to open it many times before I finally got it opened I read it slowly trying to capture every word

Dear Jessica,

I hope you enjoy your stay in my little house. I hope it meets your standards of living. Get comfy because you will be here for a while

Your friend,

Death

I shuddered a long time I will be in this place. I couldn't help but my eyes began to water as the tears fell from my eyes. I wanted to see Max again.

Max's pov

I went to sleep late last night. I couldn't sleep without the warmth of Jessica beside me. What if he was hurting her what ever would I do. The words in his note swam in my head

If I ever return her to you.

What if I never get to see her again my heart began to race as I went downstairs for a glass of water.

Don't tell the police or she will die.

I spilled my water everywhere I was literally going insane great.

Jessica pov

After sitting her for what seemed like hours the heavy metal door opened and I saw him again a dragon mask placed firmly on his face .its colors dancing in the light as he moved closer to me.

'Who are you' my voice was crack and weak. I couldn't sound powerful at all. I was nothing compared to the buff man beside me.

I tried to scream but I was gagged before I could even get a sound out. They took my wrist and led me down a long hallway. We got to a big heavy metal door and they opened it with one arm and lead me in. they quickly strapped me down to a bed making sure I wouldn't get out. the metal bed was cold to my exposed skin. The lifted my shirt and pulled a knife out. Hooking it to a machine. They looked at me with evil gleaming in their eyes and in a raspy voice they said

"Let the games begin'

I heard a small beep and the knife drew across my stomach slowly leaving a deep cut as it went. I tried to squirm or do anything to stop the pain but nothing worked after a couple of minutes of trying to get out I sat there and took the pain.

I heard the raspy voice again as he explained what was going on

"Your beloved Max must solve a riddle. The catch is that he only has so many hours every hour that past this knife will drag across your stomach a couple inches at a time" he grinned at me as he left slamming the heavy door close.

I closed my eyes trying to imagine a better place to be. My eyes started to fill with tears as I got pulled back because of the pain. I sighed how was I going to get out of this one.

Max's pov

I took a nap late in the after noon. I woke up around 5 and there was a note address to me.

Max

You sit here and wait for the days till you grow old

Not knowing where to go

You wait for the one to tell you so

Please remember the place where you wait is not the far

You better hurry you only have a couple hours

Let the game begin to find your beloved Jessica as she waits for her prince to come

Or she might end up dead in the long run

I squirmed at the last part. I thought he wasn't going to kill her. I knew he would do anything to hurt me. I tried to think about the riddle (if you could call it that). I sat thinking of every line.

Then it clicked the park. I sit there every day and its only a couple minutes from the house. I grabbed my keys and ran out the door not stopping for anything maybe I could see my Jessica sooner. I looked at the clock I only had about a hour left to find the riddle.

Jessica's pov

I felt the knife cutting across my stomach and the blood dripping over my stomach. I tried everything to stop it but the pain began to be too much. I hoped Max would find out the riddle soon. Because before I knew I was slowly drifting out of consciousness
