“Take and read it yourself!” Patricia handed her phone to Chiamaka.

“This is nice!” Chiamaka commented with a smile.

“Yes, I knew Mr. Woke will make things work out.” Patricia said smiling as well.

Chiamaka handed Patricia back the phone, “Yeah!” Chiamaka said and suddenly remembered something, “I have been wanting to ask!”

“What is it?” Patricia asked as she sat on the bed.

“What about Susan's corpse? Did her husband take it for burial? Because I have not heard anything about it again from you.” Chiamaka said and Patricia face turned into a frown.

“She is not buried yet!” Patricia said and Chiamaka suddenly looked serious, “Her husband keeps calling me but I can not forgive him. It is because of him, Susan's life was scattered and I hate to see him or his calls. My sister became who she was because of no child and his family.” She lamented sorrowfully.

“Have you given him a chance to explain why he wants her back?” Chiamaka asked and Patricia turned.

“You know him? How?” Patricia asked as she looked surprised.

“That day at the hospital, after you left, I went over to meet him. We talked for sometime before...” Chiamaka wanted to finish her statement and then, remembered Evans. That was the day she met Evans and confessed everything to her about his marriage and children. She missed him!

“Before?” Curious Patricia asked.

“Nevermind. But we did not talk much!” Chiamaka answered honestly.

“Okay!” Patricia said drily.

“What about we give him a chance to explain himself and why he came looking for her. Everyone deserves a second chance.” Chiamaka said and moved out of the bed. She felt joint aches and cursed in a low tone that even Patricia couldn't hear, “fuck!”

“I will think about it! But I can not stand that man. He is a coward and heartless! My late husband never treated me in such manner. Now Susan had died, he is now coming, claiming to be her husband.” Patricia said bitterly and tried to hold herself from crying.

At Davis home, he woke up with his hands on the pillow where he had placed Chiamaka's phone.

Christiana woke up early and had gone to prepare breakfast. Davis who was alone in the room, kept staring at the phone and suddenly, a bit of hope sat on him like he was covered with clothes.

“Flora, can help!” He said as the thought of tracking the new line entered his mind.

He was glad she was alive and good but he missed her. He wished, it was so easy to close his eyes and open them to see Chiamaka at his front.

“Hey bro!” Christiana said as she walked into his room holding a tray.

“Baby sis, I am sorry about last night!” Davis apologized and Christiana waved it off.

“I prepared noodles and fried eggs!” Christiana said, “You know, you have to take your drugs.” She added.

“Okay, okay!” Davis said with a smile.

Davis sat up and took a hold of his phone. Since Christiana was in the room, he had to eat immediately and smile at her with every bite.

“Mum called and asked about your health. I told her you are in a good state.” Christiana said and Davis suddenly looked sat and angry.

“Whatever!” Davis said and rolled his eyes.
