👼 MY ANGEL 👼

Rosanna and James couldn't believe their ears. Did Elsa just acknowledge them as her parents?

"Gloria?... Did you just say we are your parents?" Rosanna asked softly, afraid she had misheard.

However, Elsa did not answer and focused on untying them.

When she successfully removed the ropes that bound the McConnell couple, she asked curiously, "Who kidnapped you?"

"We don't know, truly. It was two men we don't recognize, and a woman who had a mask on her face," James said as he got up from the floor.

He then helped Rosanna up, who immediately rushed to hug Elsa. "Are you okay, baby girl? Are you fine?" she asked frantically.

Elsa let Rosanna hug her to her heart's content, not once pushing her away. "Yes, I am... I have to ask though, why did the kidnappers bring you to this place?"

Rosanna broke the hug as she turned to look at James, who was also looking at her nervously. They seemed to be communicating with their eyes because Rosanna nodded to him and he turned to look at Elsa.

He then said, "Dear, this is the cabin of Carter McConnell, my twin brother. He loved it so much and wanted to move here once he got married."

Elsa remembered that name in a dissociative memory, but she did not know who it was. "Do I know Carter?"

The two people in front of her looked at each other before turning back to Elsa. Rosanna then said, "You've heard of him, sweetie. He was the fiancé of Jenna Halverson, your surrogate mother... And this was their little love nest. Your father and I take care of it just to keep their love and memory alive."

Elsa looked around and saw the house. Despite its old appearance, it still looked well-maintained. Her mom did love the color purple, so the flowers around the house looked like something she would plant.

As James' eyes filled with tears, he said to his daughter, "Carter saw this as the loveliest, most magical place... He used to refer to it as somewhere safe, somewhere purple, at the end of her rainbow."

Elsa felt like she had heard those words before. She was just about to ask when suddenly, the front door closed with a huge bang, taking all of them by surprise.

Elsa was about to go and take a look when James stopped her. "No, you stay here with your mother. Let me go check."

He walked to the door and tried to open it, but it was stuck. It wouldn't budge no matter how hard he tried. "I think someone locked us in here," he said to his wife and child.

Just then, Elsa looked around suspiciously. "Do you guys smell that?" she asked as she walked closer to the walls. "It smells like gasoline."

The moment she said that, she noticed someone standing next to the window with a burning matchstick in their hand.

While looking directly at Elsa, the woman with the mask on her face shouted, "You wanted so much to be a family for so long, right? Now let me give you the chance to be one. Today, you will burn as a family and accompany each other to the gates of hell!"

The woman then threw the matchstick down, and the next thing Elsa saw was fire.

This made them all panic as James kept trying to open the door.

The fire quickly spread around the house due to the gasoline poured on the outside walls.

Seeing the fire engulfing the house and the smoke becoming too much, Rosanna pulled Elsa into her arms and covered her with her body. "It's okay, my little Gloria. It's okay. Don't worry. Mama will protect you!" she cried in a shaky voice.

Then, she turned to James, who was desperately trying to open the door. "James! Hurry!" she cried out in panic.

James was sweating as he tried to knock down the door before the fire reached the inside of the house. "I'm trying!... I think they put something heavy on the door!... I can't open it!"
