"Are you coming back?" Carly frowns.

"I'm gonna try my best." Sam says. "It'd take a lot to keep me away from you guys." He says. "Come on, gimme a hug." Carly seems skeptical of his answer, but hugs him tightly.

"I love you." Carly says.

Sam smiles, his facade slipping for a moment before he fixes it. He quietly clears his throat, pulling away from her.

"I love you, too, baby girl." He softly smiles at her. He kisses her on the forehead. "Be good, okay?" Carly nods.

"Is this a joke?" Kevin asks.

"No. It's the Word of God." Cas says.

"What?" Kevin asks.

"It's a tablet. All right, translate. That's what you do." Dean says.

"Okay. Um, it's the angel tablet, which I've never laid eyes on in my life. You want a translation in, like, six hours when it took me six months and a dead mom to translate a piece of the demon tablet." Kevin says. He chuckles and pours himself a drink.

"And according to your own words this morning..." Kevin sits down. "This is not what I do. It's what I did. You told me I was out, Dean."

"Yeah, well--"

"And if this is gonna be the "guys like us are never out" speech, save it." Cas grabs Kevin and yanks him up, the glass crashing to the floor.

"Cas!" Miranda shouts.

"Dean's right." Cas says.

"Cas!" Dean calls.

"There is no out. Only duty." Cas says.

"Get the hell off me." Kevin orders.

"Cas, get off him. He's a fucking kid." Miranda tries to push Cas away from Kevin. Cas shoves her off of his arm, the woman crashing into the table. She grunts with the impact, glaring over at the angel.

"Hey!" Carly yells at the angel, kicking him in the leg.

"Carly. Carly." Miranda hisses, pulling her away from Cas in case he retaliates.

"You are a prophet of the lord, always and forever... until the day you cease to exist, and then another prophet takes your place. Now, are you clear as to the task before you?" Kevin nods.

"Then do it, and let's go." Cas and Dean disappear.

"I think I found the angel trials, but I don't see anything about a Nephilim or a Cupid's bow or anything like that." Kevin says.

"Oh, come on, Kev! We're on the one yard line here." Dean says.

"Okay, a-and I should have mentioned this six months ago, but the sports metaphors... y-you want to motivate me, magic cards, "Skyrim," Aziz Ansari." Kevin says.

"What?" Carly's face scrunches up in confusion.

"What? I don't know what those words mean." Dean says.

"I'm not here to fight you, Castiel." They turn to see Naomi.

"Dean?" Kevin calls as Dean holds the phone by his side.

"Not anymore." Naomi says.

"Where is Metatron?" Kevin asks.

"He told you he was going to fix Heaven, didn't he? Murdering a Nephilim, cutting off a cupid's bow -- it's a lie, all of it. I've been in his head." Naomi says.

"You've been in all our heads. That's the problem." Cas says.

"No, Castiel, you're wrong." Naomi says.

"This is what you do. You twist things. I'm trying to fix Heaven. Metatron is trying to fix Heaven." Cas says.

"Metatron isn't trying to fix anything. He's trying to break it -- an act of revenge for driving him away." Naomi says.

"Break it how?" Dean asks.

"Dean." Cas says.

"Expel all angels from Heaven, just as God cast out Lucifer." Naomi says.

"Cast you out? to where? Hell?" Dean asks.

"Here. Thousands of us, walking the earth." Naomi says.

"Lies." Cas insists. He starts to charge at Naomi with his blade, but Dean stops him.

"Wait!" Cas says.

"Our mission was to protect what God created. I don't know when we forgot that. I want nothing more than to see you shut the Gates of Hell, but I told you that you could trust me. If Sam completes those trials, he is going to die."

Miranda freezes at the last part, missing Kevin's cautious glance towards her.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Dean asks.

"I saw it in Metatron's head. It was always God's intention -- the ultimate sacrifice. As for you, Castiel, I beg of you, stop this path. Metatron has been neutralized. If you want back in, truly, I will listen."

Naomi disappears.

"Hey, right now, talk to me. Is she lying?" Dean asks Kevin.

"I don't know." He says.

"Well, find out!" Dean orders before hanging up.

"Is daddy gonna die?" Carly whines.

"No. N-no, baby, your daddy will be fine." Miranda assures, forcing a smile at her. "Trust me, he'll be okay and-- and we'll see him later. Okay? Come on, it's past your bedtime."

"But--"

"Come on." Miranda drags her out of the room.
