CHAPTER 13

FLOWER FIELD

Law's POV

I gazed at the clear blue sky outside my office while tapping my fingers on the table, impatiently waiting for the board member's decision.

"The weather's nice today," Rian mumbled. Ngumiti ako ngunit hindi ko siya nilingon.

Everything's been great with my life lately. After I got my masteral degree, opisyal na ring ipinasa sa akin nila Papa ang kumpanya namin. Smooth ang transition at walang naging problema. In fact, mas lumago pa nga ang business namin nang ako na ang tumayong tagapamahala.

After Tiffany had cut all our communication means, I decided to just focus on my work. Day and night, I did nothing but strive for success and thankfully it bore fruit.

Tanyag na tanyag na ngayon ang pangalan ng kumpanya namin. Lubusan na nga kaming nakilala. Everyone in Europe is now buying their goods at our grocery stories. Natalo na nga namin ng tuluyan ang number one competitor namin. And our restaurants are all getting the best reviews. One critic even gave us 5-stars for the exceptional food and service. Our sales have been on top for months now which is why I am persuading the company that it's finally time for a change. Sana lang ay pumayag sila upang matuloy ko ang mga plano ko.

A knock on the door caught both Rian and mine's attention. Tiningnan agad namin kung sino ang dumating. It's my secretary.

"Sir, Ma'am, they are asking the both of you at the meeting room right now."

Tumayo ako at huminga nang malalim habang inaayos ang butones ng coat ko. I returned to the board meeting and took a seat in the center of the table. Their usual serious faces are suddenly more intimidating than before.

"Am I going to celebrate tonight or will I sulk all evening and reflect on my poor decision making skills?"

Nagtawanan sila at napailing pa ang ilan. My secretary went to my side and gave me a folder. Inside is the paper signed by everyone. Bigla akong kinabahan ngunit hindi ko pinakita sa lahat ang reaksyon ko. I just stared at the folder for a second before smiling at them.

"So?" tanong ko na lang kaysa basahin ang nasa papel.

Tumayo si Mr. Dela Rueda, isa sa may pinakamalaking shares sa kumpanya at inilahad ang kamay niya. "You have our full support, Mr. Viel. Your proposal and presentation earlier were both done perfectly. We are all looking forward on the expansion of Viel Corporation in Asia. Congratulations."

Tumayo ako at kinamayan siya. Hindi ako makapaniwalang papayag sila!

"T-thank you, Sir!" Nagpalakpakan sila at pinuri pa nila ako bago namin tinapos ang meeting at nagsilabasan na silang lahat.

I exhaled loudly as I sat on my chair, staring at Rian with wide eyes. I felt like I'm floating in the air. "Did that really happen?"

She chuckled. "Sinabi ko naman sa'yo, mako-convince mo sila." Lumapit siya ngunit nanatiling nakatayo. Sumandal lang siya sa table at masayang tumingin sa akin. "Are you ready for this? Malaking proyekto ito at alam mo namang malapit na akong mag-resign. My Dad wants me in his company. Nakiusap lang akong bigyan pa ako nang kaunting panahon. I can't be with you all throughout this journey."

Tumango ako at ngumiti pabalik. Matagal ko naman ng ine-expect na aalis at aalis si Rian bilang business partner ko. Mas nakakagulat nga na dito siya unang nagtrabaho sa amin kaysa diretsong nagtungo sa kumpanya nila. I am grateful for all her help but I am confident to say that I can manage this alone. I had years of practice and that experience brought me here today.
