CHAPTER 3

CHARMED

"And you're still staying in England?" kuryosang tanong ko.

He mentioned earlier that he took Business with Entrepreneurship degree from University of Cambridge. He only goes home once in a while.

"Yup. I'm still having my masters right now but I'm also currently having my training there. They want me to manage all our branches there, kaya tinuturuan na nila ako ngayon pa lang."

I've heard about the Viel's on many occasions but I am not aware that their family's businesses are quite huge on another continent.

Maybe because they are humble people. Plus Law's a very private person. I noticed his lack of posts on his twitter and instagram. Ang profile picture nga niya sa facebook ay from three years ago pa.

"Goodluck on your Master's Degree."

Law just smiled as he handed me a shot of Bell's whiskey. Normally, I would decline because whiskey was never my type but he made it look so delicious that I was tempted to drink it as well. Tinanggap ko iyon at ininom. I winced as I tasted the alcohol.

I stand corrected. I still don't like whiskeys.

I learned that he's an only child, just like me. Eventually, they accepted the fact that there won't be an additional to their family.

"Enough with me. How about you? What's your thing?" He poured another type of liquor on his shot glass. High tolerance. Nice.

"I studied Apparel and Fashion Technology at Larkyn Camber University."

"And now?"

I avoided his stare. Nahihiya akong sabihin na unemployed ako. He might think I'm useless. "That's it. There's nothing more."

He stretched his arms and put one on the back of my chair. Para tuloy niya akong inaakbayan. "I'm sure there's more. What do you do now? Travel?"

"Oo, ganun na nga. Isang taon pa lang naman akong walang work. It's not a big deal." I sounded defensive.

"Yeah, it isn't. I would have done the same thing but I'm easily bored."

"Talaga? Mabilis ka ring ma-bored?"

Law suddenly leaned on the table to reach the bowl of chips that was left in there. I looked away as I felt my cheeks burn.
