I had been cooped up in my office all day, from 7am to 6pm. I hadn't spent this many hours inside my office ever since I met Serenity, and now that I had actually tasted how sweet the world was outside of this room, all thanks to my darling, I had never before been this fed up with sitting in this retched chair for hours while doing paperworks after paperworks.

Serenity was still at home, and I trusted her enough to be able to handle herself for a couple of hours while I was at the pack house, doing my duty as an Alpha, but I had had enough of it for one day.

Since I was spending less time at my office and more at home nowadays, I wasn't as ahead of my work as I once was, but I had solved out a strict schedule to fix it. See, I was working three days a week from now on, and when it was necessary, my Beta; Luca, would fill in for me.

I was fully committed to my new life with Serenity, and I was hell bent on making our lives as if it were taken right out of a fairytale where it always ended with a happy ending. Sure, we would find a lot of obstacles along the way, but I would get our happy ending whether the gods or the universe, whatever you believed in, liked it or not.

And I would make sure of it.

As I packed up my work, while making sure to sort out the finished work from the unfinished so my Beta could easily continue from where I left off, I suddenly felt a little excited to finally be able to go home for the day, and I didn't have to wonder why that was. I knew my Serenity was the cause behind this feeling.

I couldn't have ran faster to come back home that evening, and mind you I was in my wolf form while doing this. I was as ready as I could've been when I stepped inside our home to finally hold my darling in my embrace, but was severely disappointed when I couldn't sense her presence inside the walls of our house.

I called for her, chanted her name over and over again, but soon accepted the fact that she was not home. I searched through the bedroom with a speeding heart, but couldn't find my mate anywhere. All I could find was; a note left on the bed.

I lifted the note in between my fingertips and read the handwriting that was so beautifully done that it was no question wether Serenity had written it or not.

I'm out swimming.

- Serenity

Was all that contained the note. I couldn't help but let out a deep chuckle as I read her so called 'note', but I wasn't surprised that the summary of the note was just one sentence. What should I have expected? A poem about her day and where she was? That wasn't Serenity, and neither was it a secret if you knew her correctly.
