Astrid wasn't sure if she knew exactly what love was and she was more than sure that a girl of her age and mind couldn't possibly accurately differentiate between love and desire, like and love even.So when she told her mother that she was hopelessly in love with George Weasley, the woman smiled and nodded, excited for her daughter to experience puppy love like she herself had when she was Astrid's age
And when George Weasley dumped her and she told her mother that she was so in love with him, that she'd die without him
She didn't know what to do or say, but remind her that she was young and didn't fully understand what love truly was, romantic love at least
Of course Astrid knew platonic and familial love
Merlin had smiled down upon her when it came to that
Even then love was of high value too the young girl, even if she didn't fully understand it in its true and raw form
So when George Weasley finally approached her after months of not talking properly and flashed a crooked teethed smile at her, what could she possibly do but accept him back and love him again.
Even if it were in a way she didn't want too
Just as friends
Cedric was not so fond of this rekindling—not in the slightest
When Ella Darlene met George Wesley she was in all honesty taken with him, he was kind, charming and funny—everything she thought Astrid was and what a perfect match they were for one another
Fools in love
So of course she reminded Astrid that she could bring a plus one with her too the wedding coming up in the next year and winked at George—an invite of sorts that he too was welcome, as Astrid's boyfriend and by extension plus one
