George pulled Astrid by her arm towards the portrait hole, interrupting her deep discussion about muggle royalty with Hermione "come on" he groaned

"Relax" she pushed his hand off and instead took it in her own, swinging slightly as they left Gryffindor tower

It was the third day at the Burrow when George advanced on Astrid. She and Hermione had been laying out in the sun, books in hand while the others splashed around in the murky lake water.

When he had causally asked—she didn't know what to say in return, a part of her had been holding onto Malfoy, hoping he would confess to feeling something for her.

The two had kept quiet the first couple of days, trying to feel things out and see if it was the right thing for the both of them.

Astrid more worried about how Ron felt about her and George than how she felt, thinking of him the entire time she and George would sneak off to talk privately

Having had enough she decided she would have to tell him, waiting for their cocoa night.

Once a month the two would meet up once everyone fell asleep and stay up until midnight, playing games and talking about everything small and big.

So—Astrid met with him in the kitchen at midnight. While everyone else was asleep and they had the conversation over a cup of hot chocolate.

flashback

Astrid picked up the two cups of hot cocoa, bringing them to the couches with her. She handed Ron the cup
with marshmallows, whipped cream and chocolate shavings on top— just how he liked it—a peppermint stick in her own mug.

They sat across from one another, both wearing knit jumpers—the wizards chess game they decided to abandon only moments ago scattered on the table

"I erm—she laughed lightly—suppose I needed to talk to you about something" her nails dug into her palm
