Making Time for God

46. No Shortage

It's me again God,

I was so thankful to have the assurance of Your presence with me as I went to do my shopping yesterday because it was such a shock to see so many empty shelves and queues everywhere. It felt like the end of the world! Fear was etched on the faces of the other shoppers and I had to keep reminding myself that everything was going to be okay, that no matter how things were looking, You were still in control!

Thank You that You are the God of plenty and in every situation I face, You are always there providing just what I need at the right time.

"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Again I'm reminded and reassured that because of Jesus, I have everything I could possibly need! I do not have to worry about tomorrow despite the ever-changing situation during this pandemic! Yes I will remain informed and follow whatever restrictions and advice outlined by the government but I submit to You Father, as my ultimate authority on all things, so I will take this advice seriously:

""Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

So here I am, seeking You first today —before I try to seek out more toilet paper or anything else that has become short in supply. Lord You have given me so much because I already have every benefit since Jesus died on the cross! Please help me to remember this today and continue to keep things in perspective no matter what happens in the next 24 hours.

Thank You that with You, there are no shortages of blessings and there is certainly no shortage of love!
