It's me again God,

Thank You for Your Word and for the way it teaches me as I read it each day.  I look forward to what You will show me as I take a look at what You have to say about wisdom.  I was always very intrigued about the life story of King Solomon, how You invited him to ask for anything he wanted and he chose to ask for the gift of wisdom. It wasn't long before others were noticing how wise he was:

"Solomon's wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt."
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭4:30‬ ‭NIV‬‬

He personally spoke so highly of wisdom, saying:

"wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her."
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭8:11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

How could a man possess such wisdom? The source of all wisdom is clear and he knew it:

"For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding."
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭2:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

There are many days when I don't feel very wise at all but perhaps it's those days when I am relying on myself and my own way of solving problems or trying to make sense of life in my own strength! Thank You that You don't condemn me for this —You lovingly forgive and still offer Your wisdom to all:

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do."
‭‭James‬ ‭1:5-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Lord it is so amazing to think that You still invite me to ask You for wisdom. Perhaps I could have great wisdom like Solomon but it's clear from these verses that the only thing that could hold me back from receiving, is my own lack of belief! Solomon asked for the gift of wisdom —he believed and received! Could I be so bold as to ask for wisdom too?

Lord there are many instances when Your wisdom would make such a difference to my day. I am sorry for all the times when I have tried to do things in my own strength. Please give me the wisdom I need for today as I serve You. Please remove any sort of doubt from my mind that would hinder the flow of Your goodness. My heart and hands are open to receive all of Your blessings today!

In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
