Chapter 61 - Dance

Time: 9:30 PM (Saturday)

Hindi ako naka-attend ng prom noon dahil umalis na ako papuntang Perth. This is my first dance with Herschel and he made me feel like a princess.

"Who would have thought that Mr. Perfect and his beloved basura will end up together?" sabi ni Kio na kasayaw sa dance floor ang aming former classmates na babae.

"This girl is meant to be mine from the start," sabi ni Herschel na bigla naman akong niyakap.

"From the start ha? Kaya pala palagi mo ko binubully noon," bulong ko sa kanya as I hugged him more.

"I know that both of you fucking missed each other, but can you get a fucking room please? Allergic ako sa PDA!" sabi ni Kio sabay irap ni s amin.

"Inggit ka lang dahil wala si Baby Harold dito," pang-aasar ko kay Kio.

Kio stopped when we heard someone shout sa di kalayuan. Isa sa mga former classmates namin ang nag collapsed. The guy managed to stand up pero mukhang pagod na pagod at hindi maganda ang pakiramdam.

"What happened? Is he okay?" nag-aalalang tanong ni Herschel.

"May fever na siya kanina pero pinilit pa din niya pumunta dito sa homecoming event," sabi ng girlfriend niya habang pinupunasan ng pawis ang boyfriend niya.

He's sweating too much which is far from normal. I also noticed a faint rash on his neck dahil binuksan niya ang first few buttons ng kanyang suit.

"Saan nagtatrabaho ang boyfriend mo?" tanong ulit ni Herschel.

"He is a production manager sa isang poultry farm na pag-aari ng parents nila. They are the biggest poultry meat supplier in Aldridge City. Why did you ask?"

Herschel squeezed my hand and stepped away sa dalawang mag boyfriend. Alam ko na he is worried. Simula nang maging boyfriend ko siya, palagi kami nagkaroon ng conversation about the possibility of another zombie apocalypse.

He has this crazy theory that the next zombie virus can start as a normal Avian flu that can be transmitted to humans by means of a direct contact sa mga poultry animals. He thinks that this is one of the best method to transmit the zombie virus without being detected.

Nabigla kami pareho nang bigla na naman nag collapsed ang lalaki. This time, he is uncontrollably convulsing na parang may epilepsy. Herschel looked at Kio as if may understanding na sila sa isa't isa ng posibleng nangyayari.

After the non stop seizure, I gasped when the man's neck suddenly broke. I knew it right there and then that he is already dead.

"Kio, get Sienna out of here! I will call JC, dalhin mo sila ni Savannah sa labas agad! Use the emergency exit!" utos ni Herschel kay Kio sabay kuha ng phone sa pocket niya.
