"Pull, Jeremy! Jesus!" I groaned as we pulled Max deeper into the woods.

"I'm fucking trying! Bastard is fucking heavy." Jeremy said with a groan.

Max was obviously still passed out and we had tied him up so tightly that he wouldn't be getting out any time soon.

I expected that someone would come looking for him eventually.

"This is a horrible idea, Julia." Jeremy said as I let go of Max, letting him flop to the ground. "We just have to act quick." I said, trying to catch my breath.

"You realize he's gonna get escape then tell everyone in the world he saw you, right?" He asked as I leaned down.

"We're gonna cut his tongue out." I said as his eyes widened.

"Julia, what the fuck?" He asked as I shrugged. "Can't talk without a tongue." I said and grabbed my knife.

"Okay, woah. As much as I appreciate the enthusiasm, this isn't like you." Jeremy said as I shook my head.

"We are dealing with the biggest names in the business right now, Jeremy. I can't risk anything this time. So either help me or get fucking lost." I said then crouched down, forcing Max's mouth open.

I clenched my jaw then started to cut out his tongue.

I had to admit I felt disgusting doing this but all I could think about was protecting myself and my baby.

If Max blabbed about seeing me then it would put us in danger and I wasn't going to have that.

Once I was done, I threw the tongue to the side then looked at Jeremy. "Let's go." I said then led the way out of the woods.

"Julia..." Jeremy said as I sighed. "What?" I asked blandly. "Colby's on the way, you know." He said as I nodded.

I heard the conversation he had with Jeremy while we were trying to hide Max in the woods.

I knew Colby wouldn't sit still and let me go through with this but I wished with all my heart that he would have stayed with the kids.

This was my mistake and my battle and if anyone was going to die for it, it would be me.

"Well aware." I said then made my way to the car. "We need to go to this address. If you don't want to come I won't make you." I said and opened the door.

"I'm not gonna let you go alone." He said then smiled reassuringly at me.

"There's going to be a point where I have to handle this alone. I don't want you getting hurt." I said as he chuckled.

"One thing you really need to understand about gangs is nobody goes in alone. I understand the risk, and I'm willing to face it." Jeremy said then patted my shoulder.

"Plus, if they don't kill me Colby will and I think I'm more afraid of Colby right now." He said with a laugh.

"He's gonna kill me, that's for sure." I said with a sigh as he started driving to the address Max gave us.

If I was being honest, I didn't know what our plan was but I was hoping it would naturally come to light.

We drove in silence for a while before we pulled up to buildings that looked oh so normal.

It was always going to be crazy to me to see how blended in the crime world was to the regular world.

If you were to pass this building you wouldn't know that it was where I would probably meet my demise.

"Now what?" Jeremy asked as I shrugged. "I'm not sure. I guess we just scope it out. See who goes in and out." I said as he nodded.

"Okay but if things get dicey we are leaving." He said as I nodded.
