"Julia, come on!" Jenna called out as I quickly jogged down the stairs. "I'm so sorry." I said and went to grab my keys.

I have been so aloof the past couple days, trying to keep everyones schedules aligned. It reminded me so much of the first time Colby left.

It was hard working, and having all of the kids in school. Keeping things together was getting harder and harder by the day.

Today the twins were going to a halloween party that I completely forgot about. I was asleep when Jenna shook me awake, getting angry that I forgot.

I understood the frustration the kids have been having but I was trying my best to keep everyone and everything together.

Colby has been more distant the past couple days because he mentioned he was going to be taking everything more seriously.

It wasn't like he was taking things seriously before, he was just distracted.

I seemed to have that effect on him, which made doing things related to crime ten times harder.

"Sissy, why can't we wear costumes?" Juniper asked as I sighed. "Because we weren't invited." I said simply, buckling her into her car seat.

"Halloween isn't for two more weeks, don't you think it's a little early for this anyways?" Sam asked as I shook my head.

"Ask their friend. I'm just the chauffeur." I said then went to get in the car.

"We're gonna be so late." Carter said with a sigh. "Getting to a party is better late than early. You guys want to be cool, right?" I asked and started the car.

"And what would you know about that?" Carter teased. "You're right. Actually nothing at all." I said with a sigh.

"Are you okay?" Sam asked as I drove. "Yeah, I'm great." I lied, focusing on the road.

The truth was I was absolutely crumbling from the inside out.

I had seizures a lot more often which led me to believe my medication wasn't working as planned.

The doctor mentioned I would possibly need to up it when my body got too used to it.

I just didn't know if I was under too much stress or if the medication was the problem.

I knew it was dangerous for me to keep having insane seizures like I've been having, but it just had to wait until Colby could be back.

When I pulled up to the party, I looked back at Jenna and Carter.

"Promise me you'll be safe?" I asked as they nodded. "Promise." They both said as I shook my head.

"I'm serious." I said and raised my brows. "We will be safe." Jenna assured as I nodded. "I'll be here at ten to get you." I said as Carter groaned.

"Eleven since you're late taking us?" He asked as I shook my head. "Ten." I said as Jenna pouted her lip.

"Please, Jule?" She asked as I sighed. "Ten thirty, final offer." I said as they both smiled.

"Thanks, Jule! Love you!" Jenna said as they both opened their car doors. "Love you." I said then watched as they ran towards the house.

I made sure they were safely inside then looked back at Sam and Juniper.

"How about some ice cream?" I asked causing Juniper to perk up. "With sprinkles!!" She squealed happily.

"Thank, Jule." Sam said as I nodded. "Anytime. Sorry for being grumpy." I said and started driving to the closest Dairy Queen.
