Colby's POV

"Do we understand the plan?" I asked with an authoritative tone as I paced in front of everyone.

"What happens if something goes wrong while we're inside?" Corey asked as I shrugged.

"We figure it out. There's no telling what is going to happen so we might as well be prepared for anything." I said as Jake scoffed.

"Are we gonna actually see some action?" He asked as I nodded.

"Hopefully. I don't know though. As far as I know this is just a dinner to discuss the plan. It might get dicey but if they want my help they won't do anything." I said then turned towards the guys.

"Shouldn't we at least bug one of you so we can all hear what's going on?" Steve asked as I nodded.

"Yeah, Jake will be bugged. Any other questions before we get ready?" I asked and crossed my arms.

There was a silence in the room for a second before I turned around. "Great. Get ready." I said sharply then left the room.

I had to admit I was a little nervous for this dinner, but I of course wasn't going to let that show. If things went according to plan, everything would work out.

When I got to Sam's office, I looked at the suit that was hanging up against the wall.

It had been such a long time since I've been to a crime related event like this. I would be lying if I didn't say I was a little excited about it.

I started getting ready by pulling out the various amounts of weapons I was going to be bringing with me.

I obviously needed to be on my best game and be ready to fight, but even if they didn't come at me it could have been fun to stir some shit up.

Once I was all strapped up I put on my suit then made my way out to the hallway.

"Well you look nice." Nate said as I nodded. "Yeah, hope I'm not over dressed." I said as he shook his head.

"If you are then we all will be. It's all good." He said as I looked down.

"Ya know I feel like a badass wearing a suit with a gun strapped to me. It's been way too long." I said as he nodded.

"Just don't pull anything, alright?" He asked as I nodded. "The chances are fifty fifty. I really miss the intense thrill." I said with a laugh as we walked down the hallway.

"Just don't get killed, alright?" He asked as I nodded. "Gonna try not to." I said then turned and went down the hallway.

"Ready?" I asked as Jake and Corey came out of Jake's office. "Yeah, man. You look hot." Jake said with a laugh as I nodded.

"Mhm. You have to be on your best behavior, Jake. I'm fucking serious." I said and narrowed my eyes.

"Best behavior, brother." He said and held his hands up in defense.

"Good." I said then grabbed my keys. "Let's go." I said and led the way up to the car.

The ride to this place was silent. None of us really knowing what to say.

I knew I probably should have called Julia but I didn't want to involve her in a night like this.

It would be dangerous to call her in case they found my burner and tracked the call.

I already knew there were people stalking her and the kids but if I played my cards right and did everything they said, they wouldn't hurt them.

That was the joy of being away from the crime world.
