Colby's POV

I hated leaving Julia.

I hated knowing that I was backing out on a promise and that it was hurting her.

She was so strong though, and was taking this like a champ.

She knew I was going to beat myself up if I stayed away and didn't help Sam.

We both knew that he was too smart to just go missing.

Something crazy was happening and the other guys weren't equipped enough to handle it without some guidance.

They've always had someone in charge of them and wouldn't really understand how to take on this situation. Even I didn't have a clue about what to do but the least I could do is try.

When I got to the Uber I pulled my phone out and called Corey.

"Hey, man. Are you on your way?" Corey asked as I hummed. "Send the jet to me. I need to be as inconspicuous as possible." I said as he chuckled.

"I don't think a private jet is very inconspicuous but okay." He said as I shook my head. I couldn't tell him that I needed to be subtle so nobody would try to find Julia or the kids.

It would raise red flags with the Uber driver which was the last thing I needed or wanted.

"Just trust me. He's gonna be so surprised if I do this." I said then looked out the window.

"Who?" Corey asked with confusion. "Just trust me, dude." I said, trying to hide how annoyed I was with him.

"Okay, yeah. I'll send Nate to meet you I guess." Corey said as I nodded. "Great. Keep me updated. I'll text you when I'm at the airport." I said then hung up.

"Surprising someone?" The Uber driver asked as I nodded. "An old friend." I said, keeping it vague.

Now that I was diving into the crime world, I would have to be very careful. I sucked at keeping promises to Julia so I had to do anything and everything to keep this one.

I had to get back safe and sound.

There was a chance that we would have to relocate again, just so I could ensure the safety of the kids and Julia.

When I got to the airport I thanked the Uber driver then went inside. I have had a lot of lavish experiences but a private jet wasn't in the list of things I've done.

I assumed there was a separate part of the airport where they would fly in and out so I guess I had to find that.

"Can I help you, sir?" An airline worker asked as I nodded. "Yeah, I have a buddy sending his private jet for me, where would I go for that?" I asked as she pursed her lips with an impressed look on her face.

"Follow me." She said then led me in the right direction. My mind was racing with the thought of Sam being missing.

I don't think I've felt this level of adrenaline since Julia was trapped in the brothel.

There was a fear in the back of my head that Sam was dead or worse.

It was either that or Julia was right and this was a trap.

I understood why she was worried but I was going to try and stay out of the politics of this as much as possible.

Sam was my best friend and I would never forgive myself if I didn't at least step in while he was in trouble.

I knew he would do the same for me.

"You'll go down this hallway and to the left. You'll go through security then will get shuttled to a separate terminal." She explained as I nodded.
