Being trapped in the house with no going in or out was harder that I was expecting.

I knew I was only told to keep the kids in the house for the one day, but I was starting to get really paranoid.

Colby hasn't reached out which made me nervous that something had gone really wrong.

I felt bad that was keeping the kids cooped up with no real answer but when I found out Jenna called Colby behind my back, I was furious.

He was busy and was probably in a lot of danger, so the fact she called him for a stupid reason like that, made me angry.

"You're not getting this back." I said to Jenna and held up her phone.

"Julia, are you kidding?!" Jenna asked angrily as I shook my head. "Not at fucking all. Why would you do that?" I asked and crossed my arms.

"Because you're being insane! We haven't left the house and Colby had no idea who dad was! Maybe we need to get you on some meds or something." She said as I clenched my jaw.

"You talked to him about dad?" I asked as she nodded. "Yeah, I did." She said and squinted at me. "Go to your room." I said and pointed towards the door.

"You're not my mom, you can't tell me what to do." She said as I clenched my fist.

I have never wanted to hit my siblings or inflict any sort of harm on them whatsoever, and I still didn't, but Jenna was really testing my patience.

"GO! You little brat!" I screamed and pointed towards her door. "What is going on out here?" Carter asked as he opened the door.

"She doesn't fucking listen or respect me at all! I have given up EVERYTHING for you guys!" I screamed, tears welling in my eyes.

I knew I was being ridiculous but my hormones were all over the place and Jenna was being such a little brat.

She deserved to be yelled at right now.

"Woah...calm down, Jules." Carter said as Jenna charged at me. "You're ruining our lives, Julia! You think you're just soooo great because you're older and have a boyfriend and don't have to do shit in your life!" She yelled angrily.

"You think you're so great because you get to ride on the coattails of someone who's actually rich and successful!" Jenna yelled, getting in my face.

It took everything my whole body to not hit her, or at least push her away. I was furious and hurt by the words she was saying, but I refused to stoop to the level of my mom.

"Fine. I'm done." I said then stepped and pulled her phone out, throwing it on the ground and walking towards my room.

As I walked past Juniper's room, I heard a whimper or two causing my heart to sink. I sighed, then knocked on the door gently before opening it.

When I walked into the room, Juniper was sitting on her bed with her hands covering her ears as she cried.

She looked up at me, causing all the anger in my body to melt away.

I knew Juniper didn't spend much time with my mom but I'm sure there was still some trauma from their time together.

"I'm sorry, love." I whispered and walked over to her bed. "I don't like it." She whimpered as I pulled her into my arms.

"I know, I'm sorry. We just had a little argument." I said quietly, running my fingers through her hair.

"No yelling." She mumbled into my chest. "No more yelling. Trust me." I said quietly, holding her close.
