Colby's POV

"4985 Wicket Blvd." I hummed, looking at all of the notes on the desk.

"The fourteenth day is on Friday. Do we actually have a plan?" Corey asked as I shook my head. "Not really. I mean, other than we infiltrate and hope for the best." I said with a sigh.

It terrified me that we were going in blind and that this was intensely dangerous.

All I could think about was Julia and the kids and give broken they would be if I never came home.

Having my thoughts be like that was dangerous because I would come off as distracted.

That's why I haven't been in contact with them.

It would absolutely kill me if anything happened to them, so I had to detach myself.

The less I was in contact the safer they would be.

"I'm gonna go to the gym. I need to clear my head. We'll go over a better plan tonight." I said then left the room.

I needed to get my head on straight knowing that the action was going to get intense.

When I got to the gym, there were a couple guys in there, working out.

"Out." I snapped, causing them to look at eachother. I've been far from nice to everyone here so they didn't argue before standing up and leaving.

As much as I hated not speaking to Julia or the kids, I really did enjoy having some power back.

I had that same excited feeling I would always have when danger was around.

The longer I was here the more comfortable it was.

I ended up working out for a long time before I made my way back to the office.

"Mr. Brock?" Steve asked as I raised my brow. "What." I said blandly as he sighed.

"I was looking into the letters we've received and they have come from three separate places. Or at least from three separate people." He said as I scrunched my brow.

"What do you mean?" I asked, walking towards Sam's office. "I took a swab of each letter and tested the DNA, tracking where they came from." He explained.

"Were you able to track who they came from?" I asked as he shook his head. "Not exactly. I just have a feeling that we are dealing with something bigger than ourselves." He said as I nodded.

"Collect the others. I have something I need to discuss." I said then sat at the desk. "Sure thing, sir." He said then left the room.

I groaned and scrubbed my face. I had a sick idea about who could possibly be in charge of this, but I wasn't certain.

I was so nervous that these people were going to kill Sam. It's been entirely too long since he's been missing so I could only imagine what he's been going through.

"What's going on?" Corey asked as he, Jake, and Nate came into the room. "Do any of you know if Julia's mom has been in prison this whole time?" I asked and looked up at them.

"No, that's not exactly in our territory." Nate said as I nodded. "I hate to be conceited but could you imagine if this is her sick way of getting revenge on me for getting her out in prison?" I asked as Jake nodded.

"I mean, it's not completely left field. Wouldn't that put Julia and the kids in danger?" Corey asked as I nodded.

"Extreme amount of danger." I said then grabbed my phone. I saw that there was a message on the screen, along with a missed call from Julia.
