Six months later

Life was something I never thought would be normal.

After everything I've been through, I thought I would never feel safe again.

It's been six months of our new life.

Six months of getting things in order and getting things worked out as best as we could.

It felt like no time at all with everything we've been doing.

I got the kids enrolled in school as soon as we got here. They had to go by different names which was weird and confusing but we couldn't risk anything.

Colby went by Robert and I went by Briana, since we were so trackable. We told the kids that since we were going by different names since we didn't want mom to find us.

That being said, the kids all chose their own names to hide from my mother with. Jenna went by Piper, Carter went by Jackson, Sam went by John, and Juniper went by Addie.

We only used those names when doing paper work so that nobody could track us. I didn't like that we had to do that, but it was necessary.

I was trying to get back to school myself, since I had dropped out when everything happened last year.

I still didn't know what I wanted to do with my life, but I was so lucky to have Colby with me this time.

He was supportive and helped me so much with the kids and with this adjustment. I was helping him through it too since he had no idea what his plan was either.

We were working together to get through it.

"Babe?" I called out as I threw Juniper's lunch into her bag.

"Yes?" Colby asked as he came into the kitchen with Juniper on his hip.

"Thank god she's ready, you're late." I said as Colby chuckled. "What do you mean I'm late?" Colby asked as I handed him Juniper's bag.

"Are you taking me to school?!" Juniper asked, looking at Colby with excitement. "Uhhh.." He said and looked at me with wide eyes.

"I have my interview at nine, so you have to take Juniper to school." I said as his eyes widened.

"I don't know what to do!" He said causing me to laugh.

"Just bring her to the school and walk her inside. Easy peasy, you can do this." I said then reached over and smoothed Juniper's hair down.

"Be good at school. Promise?" I asked as she nodded. "The bestest behavior." Juniper said as I smiled.

"And what's your name again?" I asked as she giggled. "Addie Wilson." She said with a nod. "Only at school though." I said then winked.

"I'm Juniper with sissy and Colby." She said as I nodded. "Exactly." I said then looked at Colby.

"You got this?" I asked and raised my brows.

Colby hasn't really done anything outside of the house since moving here but I couldn't blame him.

He's been struggling with the idea of not doing anything crime related. It's been his life for so long that he didn't know what to do.

It was just going to take some time.

"I'll do my best. I'll see you later." He said with a small smile then grabbed Juniper's bag and turned to leave.

Once they were gone I sighed and started to clean up the kitchen.

The house we got in Austin was nice. It was a six bedroom house which was nice because the kids all got their own rooms.
