| Luca |

A knock on the door pulled me out of the work I was doing. My smile widened when I saw my brother leaning against the doorway, seeing as I'd left the door wide open.

"Isaac," I stood up. "What a lovely surprise. Come on in,"

Isaac looked around my office as he walked in. "Huh," he hummed to himself. "Every time I come here, your office looks different,"

"Oh, you know," I looked around. "It gets boring having to look at the same interior all year round, so I change it every now and then," I said with a shrug. "What brings you here, brother?" Isaac narrows his eyes at me.

"I can't just show up to see my little brother?" he rose a brow at me.

"You're a busy man, Isaac. Especially now that you got a promotion at work, so you don't just...show up," I said eyeing him closely. "But thank you," he rolled his eyes, walking to take a seat on the couch.

"Who are those guys walking around, outside?" Isaac asked me, as I sat down next to him.

"Bodyguards," I said. I turned to Isaac when I heard him scoff.

"Shaun finally decided that you needed protection?"

"What does that mean?" I frowned. "And no, it wasn't Shaun. Raven organized them,"

"Raven?" he frowned. "Why would she assign bodyguards to you?"

"Because I need them?" I don't know what was happening with Isaac. "What's going on?"

"Nothing," he said looking around. I eyed him, realizing his purposefully avoiding my eyes.

"Just tell me," I pressed. He sighed, fidgeting with his car keys.

"Luca are you sure about what you're about to do?" he turned to look me in the eyes.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean getting married," he said. I sucked in a sharp breath, looking away. "Hear me out. I'm just concerned that you might not know what youre doing,"

"Isaac, I know what I'm doing," I said trying to keep my cool. "I'm marrying the love of my life, that's what I'm doing,"

"Do you honestly think he loves you?"

"Yes, I know so,"

"After what he's done to you?"

"You're not making sense Isaac," I sighed. "Shaun isn't lik-"

"Luca, you don't know this man,"

"Eight years is a hell of a lot for me to not know who I've been living with," I mumbled. "You're the one who's never bothered to get to know Shaun. That's not my problem,"

"I never bothered," he repeated to himself, nodding. "Okay, you tell me. If you two are so desperately in love with each other, what's the need of a third party in your relationship? Are you two not enough for each othe-"

"You wouldn't underst-" I bit my tongue. "Quite frankly, you wouldn't bother to understand,"

"Do you understand what's going on around you, Luca? Do you?" his eyes bore into mine. "He's bringing all those ladies, and, in the end, they fall for him. Not you," I flinched. "Is that how you want to live? Coming second in your own marriage? Because that's how it's going to be,"

"But that's not going to happen with-" I trailed off, realizing I almost revealed our relationship with Raven. "With just us. We talked about this, and we're fine,"

"Luca, I'm just worried, that's all," Isaac said. "This man has clearly been controlling-" I let out a humourless laugh.

"You're not being serious?" I looked at him. "This is what this is about?" I stood up, looking down at him. "You're here to tell me to not marry Shaun because of what happened with Sienna?" I said in realization.
