Luca texted me shortly after arriving in Pretoria, for his business meeting.

My World: I've landed. On my way to the office right now.

Me: Good. Make me proud, love.

My World: Always 😊Take care of our girl, will you?

Me: Of course. Why wouldn't I?

My World: I'll call you when I'm finished. I love you.

My phone rang before I can even respond back. I discarded my personal phone to the side and grabbed the work phone on the table. "Yes?"

"Mr Prescott, Mrs Bailey is here to see you," Ashley said over the phone.

Glenda? Why is Glenda here?

"Please escort her up and offer refreshments,"

"Yes sir," she said before hanging up.

I waited patiently until she showed up in my office. Like Raven, Glenda had the shape of an hourglass, even at her age. It must be in the genes. The woman dressed smartly as well, even when she's a housewife.

"Shaun," she smiled, walking in with Ashley trailing behind her. I stood up and met her halfway.

"Glenda, what a lovely surprise," I said hugging her. "Thank you Ashley," she nodded before walking out. I led Glenda to the couch, trying not to think about what went down yesterday. Luckily, I'd cleaned it beforehand and asked the cleaners to tend to it this morning, in case I missed anything.

"Hi, I'm sorry to come here unannounced. I'm not staying long either. Jason and I have to go back, I'm afraid," she said. "I'm just worried about Raven,"

"How so?" I asked her.

"I know this thing with the divorce hasn't been easy on her. And the way she left yesterday after finding out about the pregnancy, I just...I can't help but worry," she said.

"You know we're here for her," she smiled at me.

"I know sweetie. And I'm not sure if you know, but she mentioned a guy," she said. My interest was peeked at the mention of another guy. "She seems to have some sort of interest in this guy. Didn't mention much, but I'd assume that, you know, after the divorce and everything, they'd start seeing each other," she went on.

"Did she say anything about this...guy?" I asked curious.

"Not really. Said he only met him recently and it's still new and all. Nothing about him. She did seem to like him,"

"And what do you think?" I couldn't help inquiring.

"Well, I mean, if she's happy, then I'm happy for her. That's all I want. She's been through a lot. I mean, I've told her before. She's still very young and she has a lot to live for,"

"So what can I do about the situation?" I was more curious about why she's telling me all this. Or even, why she came.

"I'd like you to run a background check on this guy," my brows shot up. "No, hear me out. I'm just worried. I don't want this Larry drama to occur again. She needs someone...decent and kind. Like you and Luca, you get what I'm saying?" I fought a smile when she mentioned the exact people who are currently fawning over her.

"Yeah. Totally. I get you, mom," I said biting the inside of my cheek to keep from smiling. She can't know about us. Not yet. Not until Raven's ready for it.
