Sweeney Todd #11

Imagine you and Sweeney Todd are finishing off Judge Turpin.

*Requested by JanePeg*

It's been over a month since you ran into Sweeney Todd at his barbershop after you ran away from the law after the most ruthless man of London, Judge Turpin, sentenced your parents to death on a false charge so that he could marry you. When you met up with Sweeney, he took you under his wing after he learned what happened to your parents since he's plotting his revenge against Judge Turpin for sending him to prison on a false charge so that the cruel man could have Sweeney's wife, Lucy, along with his infant daughter, Johanna, all to himself fifteen years ago. You stayed with Sweeney after you both planned on working together to finish off Turpin.

Since the day you stayed with Sweeney, you worked as a waitress for Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pie Shop downstairs from Sweeney's barbershop. Business was fast selling because of a certain secret ingredient was in the meat pies that only you, Sweeney, and Mrs. Lovett knew about that came from Sweeney's barbershop whenever a customer comes for what seemed to be an 'unexpected' shave. Work was tough and tiring as there were so many customers every day, but you needed a job for money and you didn't have anywhere else to go to since you couldn't go back to your old house because you knew Turpin sent the law to monitor your house if you ever came back to it.

While you worked, sometimes you would steal glances up at Sweeney if you ever saw him standing outside by his door, waiting for any possible customers to arrive so that Mrs. Lovett could have some more 'fresh supplies'. You secretly developed feelings for him ever since he took you in under his wing and has been very kind to you to make sure you were doing alright. You imagined wanting to run away with him and leave London to go somewhere to have a fresh new start on life. But you didn't want to tell him since he was still going on about Lucy and wanting to save Johanna from Turpin. You also didn't want to tell Mrs. Lovett about your feelings for Sweeney as she too had developed feelings for him as she talked about being with him all the time while you were working with her.

***

"I've got him locked in, but if he escapes, he'll go to the law." You overheard Mrs. Lovett speaking to Sweeney, as they were walking downstairs from his barbershop, while you were cleaning the tables. You looked up, curious and confused on what was going on that involved with the law. Hopefully it wasn't something serious that could get you worried. "He won't escape." You heard Sweeney say. "I don't know, Mr. Todd." Mrs. Lovett said, doubtfully. "The Judge will be here soon." Sweeney reminded her, which caused your eyes to widen when you heard a particular word that Sweeney had mentioned.

Letting your curiosity get the best of you, you set down your cleaning cloth and walked towards Sweeney and Mrs. Lovett. "What's going on?" You asked. "Nothing, (y/n). Nothing's happening. Mr. Todd and I were just talking." Mrs. Lovett answered, obviously lying. "But didn't Sweeney say—" You were about to ask another question, but, then, Mrs. Lovett interrupted you. "Stop asking questions, (y/n). Everything is quite alright. Now if you'll excuse me, I better clean my kitchen. It's quite filthy." She said, and, then, she walked inside her Mest Shop.

Afterwards, you looked up at Sweeney and asked, "What's going on, Sweeney? Did I hear you say that the Judge will be here soon?" He nodded and answered, "Yes, he will be here soon, (y/n). I sent Toby to the Old Bailey to deliver the Judge a letter to have him come here after Anthony rescues Johanna from the madhouse, where the Judge will then be lured to my trap." You couldn't believe what Sweeney just told you. Judge Turpin, the man you thought you would never see again, was coming. "You really mean it, Sweeney?" "I absolutely mean it, (y/n), and I'll make sure that he won't hurt you once we confront him." Sweeney said. "Then, afterwards, we'll board a ship and leave." He added.

"All of us?" You questioned. "No, (y/n). Just you and me." Sweeney said, as he placed his hand on your shoulder. You looked at him, surprised. You've imagined running away with him, but you never thought you would hear those words coming from Sweeney himself. You were about to say something back, but, then, Mrs. Lovett walked out of her Meat Shop. "What are the two of you talk about?" She asked, curiously and being nosy at the same time. You and Sweeney looked at each other for a moment before the two of you turned back to her and you simply answered, "Nothing, Mrs. Lovett."

Then, suddenly, the Meat Shop door opened from behind Mrs. Lovett, making her jump in fright, and it revealed to be the Beadle, Judge Turpin's henchman. When you saw that filthy man, you quickly turned away from him, hoping he wouldn't recognize you and take you to Turpin. Without you looking, Sweeney stepped in front of you to block you from the Beadle's view. "Excuse me, sir. You gave me a fright, sir." You heard Mrs. Lovett say. "Not my intention, good madam. I assure you. Though I am here on a official business." The Beadle said. You furrowed your eyebrows, in confusion, without anyone noticing. 'What does he mean 'official business'?' You asked yourself, mentally.

"You see, there's been some complaints about the stink from your chimney. They say at night it's something most fowl." The Beadle pointed out. 'Oh, no! He knows!' You panicked, in your mind. "Health regulations and the general public welfare naturally being my duty, I'm afraid I'll have to take a look at your bakehouse." The Beadle concluded. 'Oh, no!' You thought to yourself. "Of course, sir." You heard Sweeney say, which confused you. "But first, why don't you come upstairs? Let me pamper you." Sweeney said, giving you a hint of what he planning to do. "Much as I as I do appreciate it tonsorial doormen I really ought to see to my official obligations first." The Beadle responded.

"I completely understand." Sweeney said, as you felt him stepping forward. You couldn't see what was happening, but you had a feeling Sweeney was trying to stop the Beadle from leaving. Then, you heard Sweeney inhaling before he asked, "If you'll indulge me, sir, what is that exotic aroma?" "Me secret, is a touch of ambergris." The Beadle answered. "Dare I offer you something a tad more appropriate for a gentleman of your standing?" Sweeney offered. The Beadle exhaled as if he was about to say something, but Sweeney convinced him even more. "The ladies will greatly appreciate it, sir." Sweeney said.

For a moment, the Beadle didn't say a word until he said, "Well, you are the expert in these matters." "Only take a moment." Sweeney said, and, then, you felt Sweeney step to the side to let the Beadle walk up the stairs, while Mrs. Lovett walked back inside her Meat Shop. "I would assume you're offer will definitely be a way to get the ladies attention. Like that lady right there by you, Mr. Todd." The Beadle said, referring to you. Trying to remain calm, you turned your head more to the left so that the Beadle wouldn't see your face. "Perhaps." Sweeney simply said, with a hint of disgust in his voice.

When you felt that they were at the top of the stairs you turned your head to see the two of them were reaching the barbershop. The Beadle went inside, while Sweeney looked down at you and gave you a wink, letting you know what he was about to do to the Beadle. You nodded back in response before Sweeney walked inside his barbershop. Afterwards, you remained where you were standing for a moment, thinking about the Beadle meeting his fate that pretty much was well deserved as he's the henchman to Turpin and what Sweeney had told you about you and him boarding a ship together once the two of you finish off Turpin when he arrives. You worry about Sweeney a lot and you always felt the need to protect him because you love him.

Nothing's gonna harm you
Not while I'm around
Nothing's gonna harm you, Sweeney
Not while I'm around

The devil of London will arrive
With minutes alive
After time
Nothing's gonna harm you
Not while I'm around

Then, you went inside the Meat Shop and headed straight for the extra bedroom that Mrs. Lovett let you stay in. "Where are you going, (y/n)?" Mrs. Lovett asked, while she was sitting at one of the tables. "It's a bit chilly out, so I'm gonna go get my shawl to keep me warm." You answered, while lying at the same time. Once you were in your bedroom, you closed the door and quickly packed your clothes and belongings in a suitcase.

Five minutes later, you grabbed your suitcase, looked around to see if Mrs. Lovett was around so that she didn't see you with your suitcase or else she'll get suspicious. Thankfully, for some reason, she wasn't anywhere to be found. You quickly sprinted out of the Meat Shop and started running up the stairs to Sweeney's barbershop. When you got inside, you saw Sweeney standing by the barber chair, with his razor in his hand.

"Sweeney!" You called out to get his attention. He turned around and was surprised to see you standing there, with a suitcase in your hand. "(y/n)." He simply said. When you glanced down at the razor in his hand, you asked, "Why do you have your razor out, Sweeney?" "A beggar woman was trespassing in here, so I took care of her." Sweeney answered, while he nodded his head towards the trapdoor behind the barber chair. "Oh. That's strange on why she was in here." You said.

"Mr. Todd!" You heard a familiar voice call out Sweeney's name from outside. You recognized that voice; the one that you never wanted to hear again. "(y/n), stay over there." Sweeney told you, as he gestured you to the corner near the mirror, which you immediately did right before the barbershop door flew open, revealing it to be Judge Turpin. 'Oh, God. I really hope he doesn't recognize me.' You thought to yourself, with your back facing towards the door.

"Where is she?" You heard Turpin ask, referring to Johanna. "Below, Your Honor. With my neighbor. Thank heavens the sailor didn't harm her. Thank heavens, too, for she has seen the error of her ways." Sweeney told him, falsely. "She has?" Turpin questioned. "Oh, yes. Your lesson was well-learned. She speaks only of you. Longing for forgiveness." Sweeney said, untruthfully. "Then she shall have it." Turpin responded. 'I can't believe that he's actually falling for it.' You said to yourself, mentally. "She'll be here soon, you say?" Turpin asked. "Yes." Sweeney simply answered. "Excellent, my friend." Turpin said, enthusiastically, which made you roll your eyes.

Then, Sweeney asked the one question that you were waiting for him to say to Turpin. "How about a shave?" He asked. You couldn't see Turpin's actions as he didn't respond until Sweeney said, "Sit, sir. Sit." Then, you heard footsteps walking past you. "Who is the pretty lady over there, Mr. Todd?" Turpin asked, which caused your eyes to widen and cringe, quietly, for him calling you 'pretty' and thinking that he recognized you. "That's my recently hired assistant." Sweeney answered. "Ah. I see." Turpin said, and you heard him sitting down on the barber chair.

While Turpin's back was facing you, you walked over to the mirror and glanced over your shoulder to glare at the man that ruined your life. While Sweeney was keeping Turpin entertained and you were pretending to stir the shaving cream bowl, you, slowly, grabbed one of Sweeney's silver razors, looked at it for a moment, thinking of you and Sweeney are about to do. You wanted to plot your revenge to the horrible man for executing your parents on a false charge so that filthy rat could have you all to himself after they refused his blessing to marry you. This was the moment you've been waiting to do; for your parents.

"How seldom it is one meets a fellow spirit." Turpin commented. "With fellow tastes in women, at least." Sweeney added. "What's that?" Turpin asked, confused. Sweeney looked up at you and gave you a nod. You nodded back as you, slowly, made your way towards Turpin, with no fear, but with vengeance in your (e/c) eyes. "The years, no doubt, have changed me, sir. But then, I suppose the face of a barber, the face of a prisoner, a dog, is not particularly memorable." Sweeney stated. "And the face of a damsel is clearly recognizable when a certain pig executes a her parents out of anger over their rejections of you marrying me." You said, as you stood in front of Turpin, with the razor in your hand.

Turpin looked at you and Sweeney and he, suddenly, had fear in his eyes when he recognized the two of you. "Benjamin Barker and (y/n) (y/l/n)." He said. You and Sweeney raised the razors up in the air before Sweeney shouted, "Benjamin Barker!" "And (y/n) (y/l/n)!" You shouted, in anger. Then, all at once, you and Sweeney quickly stabbed Turpin in the neck with the razors, causing blood to squirt out of him. It was getting all over you and Sweeney, but you both didn't care as you both were focusing on killing the man that ruined both of your lives. You and Sweeney continued to stab him multiple times in the neck until you both had stopped. Sweeney walked up next to you, while blood was pouring out of Turpin's neck, and he gave you a nod. "This is for my parents." You said, and, then, you slit Turpin's throat, causing more blood to squirt out. With Turpin no longer alive, Sweeney pressed his foot down on the step of the chair, where it sent Turpin down into the trapdoor, no longer in sight of you and Sweeney.

After that was done, covered in blood from head to toe, you lowered your head down, while panting, feeling relieved that it was over and done with. Then, you felt hands on your shoulders and you looked up to see Sweeney standing in front of you, covered with blood as well. "It's alright, (y/n). It's all over. You don't have to worry about that man coming after you ever again." He said. "I'm glad it is too, Sweeney." You said. Sweeney, then, wrapped his arms around you and held you close to him.

Not to worry, my dear
There's no need to fear
You're safe in my arms
Away from harm

As long as I am around
I'll protect you with all my might
And I won't let you out of my sight
As my love for you surrounds

Hearing Sweeney's beautiful words made you look up and stare into his dark brown eyes. Without saying a word, Sweeney took out his handkerchief and wiped the blood off of your mouth and his mouth. "I love you, (y/n)." He said, softly. "What did you say, Sweeney?" You asked. But he didn't respond. Instead, he put the handkerchief away before he caressed your cheek and closed the distance between the two of you and pressed his lips against yours. You didn't hesitate to kiss him back as you've been wanting to it for such long time.

Moments later, Sweeney pulled away from the kiss, but his lips were still centimeters away from yours. "You have no idea how long I've want to do that." He spoke, softly, with his lips, lightly, brushing against your lips. "Same with me too, Sweeney." You said back. Sweeney, then, walked away from you for a brief moment to grab a suitcase by the large window before he joined back with you. "Come, (y/n). We should go before Mrs. Lovett or the law stops us from leaving." He said, as he put on his coat on. "I couldn't agree with you more, Sweeney." You said, as you put on your coat and covered your (h/l) (h/c) hair with a scarf before you picked up your suitcase. After that, Sweeney took your hand and you both ran out of the barbershop to sail away from London together.
