Now we're entering season 3, we have some spicy arcs to cover and I assure you, this time I took off to analyze what I had in store was worth it, trust me. Back to school. Today is the last day of the semester. Class 1-A is eager to begin the training camp, and with reason, it's U.A we're talking about, so it must be awesome, right? It's not like it's gonna be a nightmare, right?
"Alright. That's it for this semester." Mr. Aizawa grabbed his stuff, mostly some papers and his sleeping bag. "Remember, the training camp starts tomorrow morning. Bring only what you will need. We're gonna be staying there for one week. Be ready for some hardcore training. That's it. Class dismissed."
"Aw, man! Can't wait for it! This training camp is gonna be awesome!" Kaminari is excited.
"Yeah! It's gonna be a ton of fun!" Ashido shares his excitement.
"I wouldn't count on that. You guys have extra classes, remember?"
"Oh... right."
The bell rings, signaling the Lunchtime. The class broke off in groups, all of them talking about the camp and other things. Kaito walked off alone in the other direction.
"Where are you going?" Kirishima questioned.
"I need to talk with the Support Course."
"The Support Course? Why?"
"My gauntlets, remember?"
"Oh. Right. See you later, then."
Kaito wandered off around the school, looking for the Support Course's workshop. He enters a corridor and finds a sleepy looking, messy purple haired guy. He remembers this guy, it's the guy from the Sports Festival!
"Hey, it's you! The brainwash guy! Shinso!"
"Hm? Oh. I remember you. You're from the Hero Course, right? Atsuhito if I recall correctly." He replied with a lazy tone.
"..." Kaito remains silent.
"I see. Don't worry. I'm not gonna use my quirk on you. You look lost, looking for someone?"
"Actually, yes. I'm looking for the Support Course's workshop." Kaito scratched his head.
"The workshop? It's down that hallway." Shinso pointed out the direction with his thumb.
"I see. Thanks!" Kaito prepared to walk then stopped.
"No problem."
"Hey, Shinso." He called the purple haired guy's attention. He turned back. "You said you wanted to become a hero too, right?" Shinso looked surprised. "Just keep going forward. You'll get another opportunity sooner or later." Thumbs up.
"Heh." Shinso let's out half a smile. "Thanks." Then he's back on his way.
Kaito followed the direction Shinso pointed him. After a couple of steps he finds the room he's looking for. The sign hanging on the wall besides the door gave it away.
"Development Studio? Must be it."
"Hatsume! What are you doing?!" A voice coming from the room yelled.
"This is dangerous! You could blow up the entire school! This won't work!
"I have not failed, Mr. Power Loader, I just found 10,000 ways that this won't work!"
"Blow up the school? Sounds dangerous." Kaito reached for the door. "Here goes." Kaito knocked on the door, slowly twisted the door knob, opened the door.
"Hello? I'm here to- *Bonk*" A barrel hits him upside the head. "Ouch! What the? A barrel?!" He had a red lump on his head.
"Sorry about that! This one's still in testing phase!" A girl with pink hair and unforgettable yellow scope looking eyes appeared, grabbing the barrel from his hands.
"Wait! You're that crazy chick from the sports festival!"
"You're that steam guy from the hero course!"
*Spiderman pointing at Spiderman meme*
"Mei Hatsume!"
"I don't even know who you are! Now I'm busy creating new babies, so, bye!" She dashed off.
"D-don't even know who I am? She's a total airhead."
"Oh, hey. You're one of Eraserhead's students, right? What brings you here?" Power Loader approached.
"Hey, Mr. Power Loader. I was wondering about my steam gauntlets. They got considerably stronger and-" before he could continue, Hatsume jumped in.
"You're telling me those babies are Yours?!" She was close, super close.
"Um-"
"The amount of energy you generate is off the charts!" Hatsume grabbed his hands to take a closer look.
"Huh?! Handholding? What a degenerate!"
"When you asked for repairs on your gauntlets for the first time, she almost fainted." Power Loader spoke up. "She noted that the design wasn't really giving you the full potential of the gauntlets. So she designed new ones. The ones you have currently. The company that built the originals overlooked some details, so when she got her hands on your gauntlets... well, you can see what happened."
"So that explains why I got them back so quickly."
"Yes. That's right."
"Tell me. Is it true that you came up with the design yourself?!" Hatsume asked, clearly hyped.
"Y-yeah. But there was no way for me to build without the proper equipment. Why you ask?"
"They are awesome! Did you use the steam rocket?!"
"Steam rocket?" *visible confusion*
"Yes! I added a mini steam powered rocket to each of the gauntlets! Come, you should try some of my babies!" Hatsume rushed off.
"W-wait. Slow down! *sigh* I think I'm ok. Really." Kaito looked around the room. He saw a lot of junk and a bunch of support items and other prototypes. "*whistle* That's a lot of support items."
"And she made them all."
"That mountain of items? Woah..."
"This girl is something special. You would do well if you value your friendship with her, specially if you're gonna use support items when you become a pro. She's something else entirely, she's special. So, Atsuhito, right? What can we do for you?"
"You should try these babies on!" Hatsume returned with some sort of power armor.
"N-no, I'm okay, really. I just wanted to thank you, that's all." Kaito rubbed his nape, avoiding eye contact. "For the gauntlets and all. It really helped. So, uh... thanks Hatsume."
Hatsume looked taken back, surprised. Didn't knew how to react at first. She finally smiled and replied with a thumbs up.
"No problem!"
"So, can you show me around? What you created? Your 'babies'?"
"I was hoping you'd say that! Come with me!" Hatsume grabbed his hand and dragged him around.
"This looks fun!"
"It's a gravimetric blaster! My baby number 37!"
"Gravi what? I have no idea what that means!"

Back at home, Kaito packed his things for the trip tomorrow.
"Let's see. One week, so I probably shouldn't bring a bunch of stuff."
After a couple of minutes, the bag was ready.
"You got everything?" His mother appeared at the door.
"Yeah, pretty much. Just one more thing left." Kaito looked at the wall, a guitar case was hanging. He walked to it, opened, checked it out, a black acoustic guitar was in there. "Everything looks fine." He remembered the Practical Exams. 'Do you play something?'
"Your guitar?" Mother looked confused. "You'll bring your guitar with you? You haven't played in a while."
"I figured there wouldn't be much to do, since it's a training camp and all. I think it should be fine to have some fun."
"Oh I see. It's a girl, right?"
"*blush* Of course not! I just care about my friends. Imagine how boring it would be there doing nothing."
"Um-hum. I see. You sure Mr. Aizawa wouldn't mind?"
"He looks like the type that enjoys good music."
~The next morning~
*RIIIIIIIING!*
"Oh shoot! *falls* "I'm gonna be late!"
Kaito got up and swiftly got ready to leave, somehow he managed to put his school uniform, while brushing his teeth and prepared a quick breakfast. Talk about agility. He then dashes off to school, as he arrived he saw Midoriya waiting by the school gates.
"You're late!"
"Sorry! I couldn't sleep well last night with all the expectation!" The two ran into the school.
"You brought your guitar?"
"Yeah!"
"Why?"
"Why not?"
"Fair point."
"Hey look, it's Deku and Atsuhito!" Uraraka pointed out.
"Took you guys long enough." Kirishima commented.
"It's unacceptable for a U.A student to be late! You're lucky Mr. Aizawa didn't saw that!" Iida is disappointed. "Load your bags in the bus!"
"Right. Sorry about that." Kaito and Midoriya loaded their bags as Iida instructed, now everything was ready, they just need to wait for Aizawa.
"Is that a guitar case?" Jiro was the first to show interest, I wonder why.
"You didn't say you knew how to play the guitar." Kirishima followed.
"I-I'm not that good."
"Don't be shy. Play us a song, man! I think we still got time."
"Alright. If you insist." Kaito got ready to grab his guitar, when Mr. Aizawa showed up.
"Good. You're all here." He stood in the front of the class.
"Other time maybe?"
"I'll hold you to it!"
Aizawa then speaks up.
"Now that you finished your first semester in U.A High, it's time for your summer vacation to officially begin. However, don't think these will be months of rest for you heroes in the making. At this camp, we'll push you to go beyond your limits. You're aiming to become plus ultra."
"Ain't we always?"
"We'll wait for class 1-B, then we'll be on our way."
"What about now, Atsuhito?"
"Hmm, I think we've got time."
"Camp! Camp! Camp!" Uraraka, Kaminari and Ashido yelled enthusiastically.
"Well, they're excited." Kaito commented.
"I heard some of class A are taking extra courses! Does that mean they actually failed the final exams?!" A wild Monoma appeared, with the rest of class B. As always, he provokes class A.
"Not this clown again." Kaito voices his disappointment.
"*gasp!* That must be so embarrassing, especially since you're supposed to be so much better than my class! Oh, you must be wallowing in shame!" *chop to the neck, he's out.*
"Don't mind him!"
"It's the rest of class B!" Midoriya points out.
"It's nice to see you outside of the sports festival. I guess now we're technically not rivals." One of the girls from class B speaks up.
"Time to get on the bus!" Kendo, the class rep from class B instructs. Her class follows.
"The girls from class A and class B?" Mineta drools. "It's like a buffet of bombshells."
*slap!* Kaito slaps him.
"Ouch!"
"Behave yourself, grape."
"Dude, get yourself together. For real." Kirishima voices his disapproval.
"Attention class A! Let's embark! Everyone line up in seating order!" Iida coordinates the class.
Class A embarked on the bus as instructed, and they're off. 5 minutes in the trip and Aizawa starts to regret putting a bunch of teenagers on a bus for a school trip. Chatter, a lot of chatter and chaos. He even tried to say something, to get everything in order, so did Iida, but that didn't work as expected.
When suddenly, Kaito got an idea. He was sitting at the back of the bus by himself with his guitar. He opened the case sneakily and grabbed the guitar. After a few adjustments he started playing. Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box.
Magically, the class shut up! The music caught their attention, everyone except Bakugo, stopped what they were doing, inching closer to the music. Kaito blew them away with musicality. One person in particular was impressed, her eyes gleamed, suddenly, to everyone's surprise, Jiro joined in the song, singing along. Singing would be an understatement, she sounded like an angel. You could almost see a light descending from the heavens when her singing complimented the song.
(A/N: I used the Dead Sara cover here because I think it fits better, since Jiro is singing along. Shout out to all the Infamous Second Son fics out there. Also, I like to imagine that the guitar riff in the Odd Future opening is played by Kaito in this scenario.)
Kaito was surprised at first, but quickly followed up. Aizawa at the front of the bus looked wordlessly, he let out a relieved sigh.
"Thanks, you two."
The duo continued to bless the trip.
"That was awesome!" Kirishima hyped up!
"Do it again! Do it again, please!" Ashido begged.
"You guys rock!" Sero complimented.
"You two make a great pair!"
"Play another one!"
"Thanks!" The two spoke together, blushing.
"Well, if you guys insist." They looked at each other and nodded in agreement. "Let's see..."
~A while later~
"Alright everyone, here's our stop." Mr. Aizawa speaks up. The class gets up from their seats and start leaving in order.
"Um... thanks for.." Jiro and Kaito spoke in synchrony again. Kaito grinned shyly.
"Go ahead."
"Thanks for playing. You're great."
"You too..." They walked off.
"Finally, I needed off that bus! The music was great, but I can't stand stay in crumped up."
"What is this place?" Kaito automatically noted that something was off, this isn't their destination, they're in the middle of nowhere.
The only thing that stood out was a black 4 door car.
"Let me get through! I need to pee!" Mineta dashed off.
"This isn't much of a rest area." Kirishima too noted how weird the stop was.
"No. And where is class B?" Jiro looked around, no sign of the other bus or the other class.
"You don't really think we stopped here just so you could stretch your legs do you?" Aizawa questioned.
"Please sir, the bathroom."
"Heya Eraser." A voice coming from the black car spoke. From it came out two woman in cat like costumes.
"Long time no see." Aizawa bowed in respect.
"Oh my God!" Kaito recognized the figures.
"Your feline fantasies are Here! Say meow!"
"Perfectly cute and catlike girls!"
"You can call us the wild-wild pussycats!" *pose*
Class: *visible confusion*
"These are the pros you're gonna be working with in this Summer camp."
"MIDORIYA!" Kaito grabbed the green boy by the shirt's collar. "It's Mandalay and Pixie-Bob!" he points out enthusiastically!
"They're a four person team who specializes in mountain rescues!" Midoriya added. "They were founded when we were kids! Like, forever ago! This Marks their twelfth year working as- *paw to the face*
"I'm pretty sure your math must be off!" Pixie-Bob had a menacing look. "I'm eighteen at heart."
"Understood." Midoriya speaks up, muffled by her paw.
"Everyone, say hello." Aizawa instructs.
"Hello! Nice to meet you!"
"I still don't understand. Why exactly are we here? Is this the Summer Camp?"
"We own this whole stretch of land out here. Everything you can see." Mandalay points out the land in the distance. "The Summer Camp you're staying at is there, at the base of the mountain."
"That's far!"
"Uh, then why did we stop all the way out here instead?" Uraraka questioned.
"I'm afraid we both know the answer to that." Asui added.
"That can't be right." Sato didn't believe.
Kaito and Sero looked at each other, they immediately knew what was coming.
"Oh, I've got a bad feeling about this." Kaito comments.
"Um... back on the bus. Quick, let's go." Sero slowly walked backwards.
"Good idea, load up!" Kaminari retreats.
"The current time is 9:30 in the morning. If you're fast about it you might make it there by noon." Mandalay spoke in a ominous, frightening tone. The expressions as she was planning everything from the start and they fell in her trap like fools didn't help either.
"W-wait, what are their quirks again?" Kaito hmmed to himself.
"No way! Guys!"
"Save yourselves!"
"Kitties that don't make it there by 12:30 won't get any lunch!"
"You should've guessed students. The training camp... has already begun."
The earth started to tremble.
"Oh, I remembered ...earthflow."
The ground the class was standing on raised in some sort of earth tsunami, sending the entire class over the guard rails into the forest below. Kaito, as always, lands on his face.
"*muffled* why do I always fall on my face?"
"Good news! Since this is private property, you can use your quirks as much as you want to!" Mandalay tells from the top. "You've got three hours, you should be able to make it the facility by that time! That is, if you can get through the beast forest!"
"Beast forest?" Kaito got up, dusting off his uniform and face. "What is this? The chunin exams?"
"That sounds like a name straight from a fantasy game!" Kaminari speaks up
"Why do we keep falling for Aizawa's little tricks?" Jiro wondered.
"I guess there's no use complaining. Might as well get going." Kirishima gets up, ready to go.
"Yeah. You got that right." Kaito agreed.
*Mineta zooms past them in a hurry.*
*A growling beast appears!*
"What the hell is that!?"
"Grape! Watch out!"
Midoriya manages to pick Mineta up and dodge the beast's attack.
"Is that? Pixie-Bob's quirk?" Kaito let's out his steam, ready to take on the beast, followed by Midoriya, Todoroki, Bakugo and Iida. The beast didn't stand a chance.
"Haha! We did it!" Kaito raised his arms, cheering. Was that it? Was that the beast of the forest?!" It seems in his commemoration over the small victory, Kaito overlooked a small detail. Another beast growls!
"Atsuhito! Watch out! Behind you!" The class shouted.
"Oh..." he looked up, a giant foot stomped him.
"Atsuhito!!"
"I-Is he?"
"Dead?"
"Shouldn't have done that, you should NOT have done that!" Kaito's voice was coming from inside the beast.
"He's alive!"
"Now I'm gonna wreck you!" Kaito's arm bursted out the beast's chest, he then blasted out his steam exploding the thing from inside out. "Oof, these things are hollow inside." He lets out a relieved sigh.
"Bro, don't scare us like that!"
"Alright. Now that you're done showing off. Heads up, we're not done." Bakugo pointed out more beasts approaching.
"Hey, come on! Don't you think this is a little unfair?"
"What now? Do we run?" Ashido questioned.
"If we don't make it to the camp fast we won't have anything to eat!" Sato remembered.
"He's right. We got no choice but to cut through these woods using the shortest possible route." Yaoyorozu was quick to come up with a plan.
"Alright. We got a plan." Iida agreed.
"No objections here." Kaito hovered back to his classmates. "We do this together, right Midoriya?"
"Yes!" Midoriya activated his full cowl.
"Atsuhito. You want to have the honors?" Iida questioned. Kaito knew what he meant.
"Of course, class rep. Let's get this show on the road! FULL STEAM AHEAD, CLASS A!"
"YEEEEAH!"
The class advances! Team work makes the dream work, earth beasts start to fall down left and right.
"It's the first time we fight side by side, huh? Future hero?" Kaito and Midoriya end up back to back.
"It is? IT IS! Now I might even surpass you, Atsuhito!"
"I've spotted more of them closing in!" Shoji calls out.
Kaito easily takes down one of the beasts. Midoriya is left speechless.
"Don't get so cocky, kid! Haha!" Kaito dashes off.
"You were in my way there icy hot!"
"Then pick another route!"
While Todoroki and Bakugo argue, Kaito takes the lead, dashing off between the two.
"Damn, you guys are slow."
"What did you say, you extra?! Come back here!" Bakugo follows.
"Come on, Midoriya, explosion boy! Lets finish this!"
The beasts go down, sure, but there seems to be no end in their numbers. The class continued to fight their way through the forest.
~About 8 hours later~
The class arrives at the facility, huffing, exhausted, practically falling apart.
"You said it would take only three hours!"
"I guess we based on how long it would take us. Sorry!"
"Now you're bragging about how much better you are? That's so mean!"
"I'm starving! This is hell!"
"Meow x7. I thought it would take you kids even longer! But you did much better against my earth beasts as I thought you would!" Pixie-Bob praised. "You guys were seriously great. Specially... you five!" She points to Kaito, Midoriya, Iida, Todoroki and Bakugo. "It seems that you've had quite a bit of experience!" She creepily licked her lips. "I call dibs on these kittens! I'll groom them myself!" Pixie-Bob jumped towards the boys.
"Grrraa! Stop!"
"What are you doing!?"
"Mandalay, has she always been like this?" Aizawa questioned.
"It's gotten worse lately. She's at the age to take a mate."
"Speaking of peoples ages..." Midoriya speaks up.
"Choose your words carefully, boy." Pixie-Bob grabs his face again.
"I've just been wondering since we got here. Who's that kid? What's he doing here?" He points out a little boy with a red cap with spikes, well, more like horns.
"Oh, this little guy? He's actually my cousin's son. He just lives with us now." Mandalay explained. "Don't be shy, Kota, say hi to everyone. You're gonna be around them for the next week."
"Hey there, my name is Midoriya." Midoriya was the first to approach the kid. "I'm from the U.A High School Hero Course. It's nice to meet you." *punch to the jewels.*
"OOOOF! There goes the Sequel opportunity!" Kaito cringed with the scene, almost feeling the pain himself.
"What a low blow!" Iida jumped in to help Midoriya. "You feind of a child! A punch to the scrotum is unforgivable!"
"The last thing I want is to hang out with some wannabe heroes!"
"Wannabe? How old are you, kid?"
"Heh. That brat's got spunk." Bakugo grinned.
"He reminds me of someone." Kaito commented.
"Uh? What do you mean!?"
"He's like a mini version of you." Todoroki added.
"Yeah, that's it!"
"What are you talking about?! How about you just shut up before I blast you all the way to hell!"
"Yeah, sure."
"Enough playing around. Get your stuff off the bus. Once your bags are in your rooms we'll have dinner in the cafeteria. After that you can bathe and sleep. Tomorrow your training starts in earnest. You better get a move on."

"So this is the boys dorm room?"
"This place is bigger than my house."
The boys unpacked their things, and found a place to crash later.
"Atsuhito. It's been a while since you played your guitar, right?" Midoriya questioned.
"Yeah. Honestly, I don't know what's gotten into me. I don't feel secured playing."
"What are you talking about? You're a beast, man!" Kirishima praised.
"Man, today was rough. And we didn't even start the training."
"Ah, yes. My sweet angels." Mineta was leaned against the wall, trying to hear the girls in the other side.
"What's he doing?"
"Isn't the girls dorm next door?"
"Dude, you should stop that already."
"It's our fault. Wait... you smell that?" Kaito followed the smell. "It's food!"
"FOOD?!"
"OUTTA MY WAY!"
"No way, I'll go first!"
"Let's go in order!" Iida tried to calm things down. Unfortunately, the boys just trampled over each other to reach the cafeteria first.
"Well, they're excited."
When they got to the cafeteria, a blessed sight. Mountains upon mountains of good, well drawn, steaming, anime food!
Without hesitation they sat down to stuff their face.
"Looks so good! Let's dig in!"

"So, you girls got stuck in a tiny little room, didn't ya?" Sero questioned as he munched down his food.
"Why? Is the guys room really big?"
"Yeah. Something like that." Kaito replied serving a cup of water.
"Oh yeah? So, can I come check it out later or what?" Ashido wondered.
"I don't see why not."
"Sure. Whenever you want."
"Just mind the grape head. He's a little too bold lately."
"Huh?! I smell beef!" Kaminari yelled.
"Hey, wait! You've got meat over there?"
"Yeah. Geez. It's like you guys haven't eaten in a week or something. Anyway, today is the only time we'll be doing this for you. So make sure you kids enjoy it."
Kaito took a sip of the water. His eyes gleamed.
"S-Sero...Jiro..."
"What's wrong?" They questioned.
"I've never had water this delicious before!" He gulped it down. "It's like, water filled with elegance... it's like, water a princess in the Alps playing the harp would drink! It's so soothing!"
"Is he ok?"
"His quirk is powered by water. Must be it." Tokoyami explained. "Pass me the dumplings."

While the rest of the class takes a relaxing bath in the hot springs, Kaito chose to take some time for himself. He took a regular bath and put on some regular clothes, then went to find a cool spot to watch the stars. On the way, he finds Aizawa chilling in the hallway in his yellow sleeping bag.
"You're not gonna join your class in the hot springs?"
"No sir. It's kind of redundant. My quirk is steam, hot springs. Doesn't make any sense. I just took a regular bath instead. Plus, it's good to take some time for myself too."
"I see. You might want to get used to it." That last part sounded a little ominous. "Don't forget we're starting your training pretty early tomorrow. So don't stay up late."
"Yes sir."
Kaito finds a pretty neat spot, overlooking the forest, not too far from the facility.
After a minute of silence and peace.
"Watch out!"
"Oh my God. I leave them for ONE MINUTE!" Kaito walked back to the facility. He heard Midoriya's voice, as well as Mandalay's and Pixie-Bob's. They were talking about someone.
"...they were heroes too. But they were murdered."
"Murdered?"
"They were killed while protecting citizens. Perhaps the most respectable way for any hero to die. But... how do you even begin to explain to a child that his parents died honorable deaths?"
"Are they talking about....Kota?"
"...To him, his parents had left him behind. And all the while they were being praised, everybody kept telling him that their sacrifice was noble. Honestly, it doesn't feel like he likes us very much either. We're heroes. Like they were."
"So that's why he doesn't like heroes?"
~The next day. 5:30 in the morning~
"Good morning class. Today we begin the training camp will increase your strength."
Aizawa speaks up, but I'm pretty sure half the class is half asleep to pay attention.
"Our goal is to increase your skills exponentially, so that each of you earns a provisional license. This will allow you to face the dangers that continue to fester in the shadows. Proceed carefully." Aizawa throws a softball to Bakugo. "Look alive, Bakugo. Try throwing that for me."
"Yeah, sure. Like in the fitness test."
"That's right. When you first started school your record was 705.2 meters. Let's see if you've improved."
"Oh, I get it! You're checking our progress!"
"A lot happened in the last three months! Maybe he can throw a whole mile now!"
"Come on! Get it Bakugo!"
"Let's go, Bakubro. You can do it!" Kirishima and Kaito motivated the explosion boy.
"I've got this. No one blinks!" Bakugo prepared to throw the softball. "GO TO HELL!" He blew the softball away, and almost half the class.
"Go to hell?"
"That was 709.6 meters." Aizawa unamusedly showed the device measuring the distance.
"What?"
"That's it? Kind of disappointing."
"You'vehad single semester at U.A. and due to your various experiences, all of youhave definitely improved. But those improvements have mostly been limited tomental prowess and technical skill, with a slight increase in stamina thrown inalong the way. As you can see, your quirks haven't improved much on afundamental level. That's why now we're gonna focus on improving yourpowers." Aizawa had a creepy grin.
