Amiir Speaks
Prince's POV
Prince woke up with a start. He sat up and looked around the bedroom. Bella was sleeping, and the room was quiet and since it was so early, very little light was coming in from the outside. It must be about dawn he thought. He looked at the clock, it was 5:45 AM. He laid back down trying to remember what had awakened him. He closed his eyes and began to relax and then he heard "Dad"? He would know that voice anywhere. It was Amiir, his only son. "Dad", he heard again. "Yes Amiir, I am here", Prince said. "I love you Dad. You and Bella need to hurry up and get married. "I miss you...both of you". Prince opened his eyes. He was awake and he was not dreaming and he was hearing from his son in Paradise. He sat up again. "The choirs are doing really well under Samuel's direction. There are 8 people in the ensemble now and the dancers under Mina are great too. Uncle Henry wants to know if Bella is making you sweet potato pies because he gave her the recipe. I told him I know she is because they make you happy and she does everything she can to make you happy. I have been reading some of the ancient books in the Paradise Library and have made some interesting discoveries about the human DNA strand...I think that is what I want to do...be a genetic surgeon. I can't wait to tell you what I discovered. But I can't be anything until you and Bella get married and make me. Hurry up okay? Well JR is bugging me about playing basketball so I have to go". Prince laid back down and as he did, Bella said "I miss him too". "You heard him"? "Yes of course". "Why didn't you speak to him". "Because today he wanted to talk to you". "Today", Prince asked? "He has contacted me before...but just to say what he was up to". "Why didn't you tell me"? "Because since you couldn't hear him, he had masked his thoughts and only wanted to speak to me". "But why? I am his Father". "Yes Prince you are; but you were also trying to define some very important things as a musician and a man and your mind was quite focused on those things. Your son did what he felt was right to do. He is a lot like you and does things the way that he feels he should. Even when he is here with us, there will be times he comes to me baby. There are times when a son needs a mother's voice and touch". Prince looked at his beautiful, gentle Bella and knew she was right. How many times in his previous life had he wanted, needed his mother...and she was not interested or available. He pulled Bella to him and said, "Thank you for being such a wonderful mother to our son Bella. I love you even more because of that". " I love you too Prince", Bella said and kissed him lightly on his lips. He kissed her back and as he did his member began to unfurl. It was 9:00 when Prince woke again. He got up and went into the bathroom and did his morning routine. He came back into the bedroom and saw that Bella was awake and propped up on her pillows. "Good morning pretty girl" he said as he made his way to her side of the bed and kissed her on her cheek. "Good morning my handsome Prince", she said kissing him lightly on his lips. She got up and went into the bathroom to make her morning water. After washing her hands and brushing her teeth, she returned to the bedroom to find Prince still sitting on her side of the bed. "Prince, how long do you think we will tour after the film is made"? He looked thoughtful and then said, "I am sure it will be a World tour which means the States, Europe, Asia and probably some of the more stable nations in Africa like South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya. Why"? "How long do you think that kind of a tour will take? I would think about 8-9 months". "Okay." "Okay what woman"? "2 years". "2 years what woman"? "We can start our family in two years...but there is one condition". A smiling Prince said "what is the condition"? We have to find our own house first that will be close to Elaine and Carlos". " If they want to live close to us...that is a deal"! He picked Bella up and swung her around in a circle. He was going to marry in a year and start a family in two. He was a happy man! Bella and Elaine met in the kitchen to get coffee for themselves and their men. Prince was in the shower. Ross was making breakfast quiche which was almost ready. Bella told Elaine about her decision about a family. "Great...Carlos and I want to be on the same schedule. It will make it great for the kids and allow them to plan touring and recording as well, as we will have babies around the same time so they will know they will both be at home at the same time. As far as the house...I think we should build or buy our own compound" Elaine said. "You know two houses with an enclosed causeway that we can take back and forth between them and not be seen by the world when we do". I love that idea. Let's tell them at breakfast", Bella said. Bella spoke to Ross and let him know that they needed to talk to Carlos and Prince privately over breakfast...so they would set the table on the patio. It was a beautiful day and the weather was perfect. She and Elaine wiped down the table and set it and Ross would bring breakfast out in about 20 minutes. Bella showered as did Elaine and they were sitting on the patio when their men came out. The breakfast quiche was delicious and was served with fresh fruit and coffee. Elaine began the discussion about what they hoped their men would agree to. Starting a family in two years...houses on the same compound. It could be a gated community with neighbors which would probably be good for the kids...near a Catholic School and Church hopefully. They needed exclusivity for safety...but they did not want their kids growing up in an isolated environment without other children to play with hopefully in an ethnically diverse setting. Carlos and Prince looked at each other and cracked up. "Okay ladies anything else", Carlos asked still laughing? "Why are you laughing Bella" asked them? " I told Carlos about our conversation this morning Bella and we bet each other that the two of you would have agreed on all of this kind of stuff by dinner...but you beat us and did it by brunch" Prince said laughing! "Oh you" Bella said and play punched him on the arm. Elaine punched Carlos on the arm too, but harder..."ouch" he said! "So do we have an agreement or not", Elaine said pouting a little? "Yes, yes"Carlos said. Prince said..."it will also make security easier if we live near one another. I think it is a great idea", Prince said. "So now we know what we are working for" Prince said. Come on Carlos, let's go run the first course of this race. "Good luck Baby", Elaine said. "Get er done" Bella said. Ross and Melvin would take them to Arista this morning. They kissed their women and were gone in just minutes.
Prince was dressed the part this morning...Suited and tied and he meant business. He walked in with Carlos who was equally well attired and they would walk out as Champions having gotten what they wanted. They would release the album in France and play 2 shows in Paris, England and do 4 shows in London, Italy and do 2 shows in Milan. They would also release in the Netherlands with 2 shows in Rotterdam, in Germany with 1 show in Munich and 1 in Frankfurt and 1 in Berlin. Finally they would do 1 show each in Switzerland (Zurich), Sweden (Johanneshov) and Austria (Vienna). They would limit the shows on purpose to build demand. They would tour again after the release of the film and add and cut countries based upon what this first outing taught them. The tours would start in July and run through the first weekend in September. They would limit themselves to weekend shows...Friday and Saturday nights only. They did not feel that they had the market share in Europe yet to command sell outs during the week...but they would and sooner than any of them realized. Christian agreed that this was enough. They needed to be available for screenwriting changes...but with the new technology of on-line visual and audio meetings Elaine and Bella could do that from anywhere. They just needed to pick some days and keep them consistent weekly like Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday for example so they could plan for it while on the road with the time difference and allow for soundchecks and rehearsals to take place as necessary. Christian said to them that they had done an excellent job of anticipating all of the different variables they would need to juggle while touring and working on the film script. Since they would be home for three weeks in September they would have some time to get ready for the actual filming which Christian hoped to start the second week of October...it all depended on the script. They would have to audition for the parts the second week of September though...and they might still be jet lagged...but they needed the production time to assure a release for the Christmas Holidays and eligibility for the Grammy's and Oscar consideration. That did not scare Prince or Carlos...the band was used to working under those conditions....the girls though would need to prepare for it. They stood and shook hands with Christian and then headed back to their residence. It was a great meeting and step one of their plan was secure. One down and one to go...Elaine and Bella would be meeting with Christian and Becca Morrisey tomorrow. Prince and Carlos would be there though to ensure that things went as they needed them to.
Bella's POV
Bella and Elaine knew that a lot was riding on this meeting and they wanted Prince and Carlos to know how much they appreciated them. Bella decided the would make one of Prince and Carlos' favorite meals. Spaghetti with homemade meat sauce, a salad, Italian Garlic Bread and Brownies. Bella worked on the sauce while Elaine did the salad and the bread. They made enough for everyone of course, but again they would eat separately so that they could hear about the meeting today. They would eat in the dining room and the security team in the kitchen. At 4:30 PM they heard the garage door go up and the security pulse sounded which sent Frank to check on who was entering. Melvin parked the BMW and the men entered the house. "Something sure smells good in here" Prince said headed to the kitchen. "Please tell me it is your homemade meat sauce Bella", he said. "It is", Bella said as he put his arms around her waist from behind. She was at the stove stirring the sauce. He kissed her on the neck and she smiled and said..."go get out of that gorgeous suit before sauce gets on it. Dinner will be ready in about 30 minutes". Elaine put the water on to boil for the spaghetti and then turned and kissed Carlos who was patiently waiting for her attention. "You do the same please Carlos". They went to change into something more comfortable but were back in the kitchen in just minutes. "We are going to eat in the dining room tonight so that we can discuss your meeting openly", Bella said. "Great", Prince said. "We have some things to run past you in preparation for your meeting tomorrow also", he added. Elaine went to set the table while Bella cooked the Spaghetti and popped the bread in the oven to warm. Elaine returned to the kitchen and doused the salad with an Italian Vinaigrette. Dinner was ready. Bella placed the food on the kitchen table for the Security team along with a choice of Apple or White Grapefruit juice. She told them about the brownies on the counter for dessert. Elaine and Carlos carried the food into the dining room. Prince of course, was in charge of the Brownies. He watched Bella cutting them to be sure that they were all the same size. Bella looked at him and shook her head. He carried the dessert into the dining room. Bella brought the juice.
They sat down held hands and Carlos said grace. They then told them about the European Release. They would go to 8 countries and do 16 shows over 8 weekends (Friday and Saturday for the most part). They wanted to make it clear that the weekdays, while they would not be performing would be full with soundchecks, rehearsals, traveling and their own meetings on the script for the screenplay. Christian said shooting would begin the second week of October. They would be home at the end of the first week of September. They would, however, need to audition for their roles though the second week of September and they would most likely be jet lagged. Prince had decided to push for end of week or even the third week of September for those auditions...but he wanted them to be prepared if he was unsuccessful with making that happen. "You will make it happen" Bella said quietly. " I know you" and smiled at him. He smiled back but said nothing. He reminded them that part of the issue with their on line script meetings would be the time difference. During daylight savings time for example, France was nine hours ahead of California. So if they were meeting at 8:00 LA time it would be 5:00 in France. It was important to get that built into their thinking for planning purposes. They also had rehearsals and soundchecks in each city for each performance. Performances would be at either 7 or 8 PM depending on the venue. Bella and Elaine nodded. Both at this point were wide-eyed, as it was going to be an incredibly busy and taxing summer. Bella shut out the sound of the chatter at that point. She closed her eyes and thought of the dream she had had several months ago of the baby boy with eyes like Prince who called her mommy when he sat on her lap for story time.
She opened her eyes...this summer would be worth it as it could put them in a financial position to work only when they wanted to for the rest of their lives. She would be able to take really good care of Prince...and he would not have to endure the grueling travel of touring to stay afloat as he aged this time...because he was not at war with his record company. The wear and tear on his body and his psyche would be a lot less...a huge amount less. She wanted them to live long lives with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and their closest friends and family. This was a major piece of the puzzle that could make that happen...and it was therefore worth it. 'Amiir' she thought, 'we are hurrying as fast as we can'! Prince had heard her thoughts and his eyes filled with tears at this amazing woman. He sometimes felt, if he needed her too, she would swim through a river full of crocodiles to come to his aid...and he was right. She would. How he loved her, how he treasured his Bella! They finished dinner and Prince and Carlos took kitchen clean up duty and then they watched the movie that Bella had fallen asleep on the night before in the family room with their friends. The movie was Die Hard, starring Bruce Willis who was a 20th-21st century actor in the Action Genre. Frank and Larry said that it was one of their favorites. After the film Bella and Prince as well as Carlos and Elaine would turn in. It was a big day tomorrow and they were meeting at 10:00. Their security team would be up playing cards for another hour or two but would be in bed early...before 11:00 as well.
Bella and Prince showered and moisturized each other and then turned in. He told her he had heard her thoughts after he and Carlos had shared what the summer looked like. She smiled and said she figured he had as he had become emotional. He told her how much he loved her and appreciated her. She propped herself up on one elbow and said "Prince I know how much you appreciate me, but do you have any idea how much I appreciate you"? He looked at her a little surprised at her question. " Look at the life you are giving me. A life where I can stay home or travel with you and still take care of our babies. A life where not only I but our children also will get to see so many different parts of the world which will be a huge part of their education about this world. A life with a man who loves God and fears the loss of heaven enough to do what is right by me, our children and our friends and neighbors. A life with a man who cares for those who need help and helps them without even wanting it known. Prince I have always told you that you were the smartest man I know...but do you know that you are also the man with the greatest and best character that I know and one of the purest souls too? You work at being a good man and I respect you more than any other man on the planet because of it. You invite others...like Promise Keepers to hold you accountable to doing things the way the Creator wants. Any woman in her right mind would recognize that and give her complete and total loyalty to such a man...and you my beautiful Prince have chosen to allow me to be the woman that gets to do that with you. Prince you are everything I ever dreamed of or hoped for in this life and the last. Thank you, thank you sweet baby for choosing me"! As she spoke her eyes welled up with tears, but so did Prince's. He actually began to cry. He said in between sobs...Bella I am so happy. Being able to make you happy and keep you content is all that I have prayed for since I knew of your existence. It is so amazing to me that you feel that I have. Well you have; you always have, since the moment I met you in Paradise...and just being with you as your wife, lover friend and mother of your children will always keep me that way. She kissed the man whom she would marry and who would father her babies and they held each other and went to sleep.
They awoke early the next morning Bella and Prince dressed for business and when they went into the kitchen Ross whistled and said "ladies and gentlemen meet the coolest couple in the world". Prince laughed and they did the man hug thing. Carlos and Elaine came in and Ross did the same thing only he said the other coolest couple in the world. They all laughed. He had made them Apple fritters for breakfast made with honey and no processed sugar with coffee and Orange juice. It was high energy brain food and they were ready to take the next step on this road toward becoming husband and wife and parents. They ate and Frank and Larry took clean up duty and Ross and Melvin took them to Arista. They parked and were in the lobby at 9:45. They got their badges and while they waited for Christian to come down to greet them, Ross said to Prince "good luck man"! He didn't know quite what was at stake but he knew it was huge and he honestly wanted only the best for Prince, Carlos and their lovely women. Prince embraced him...as did Carlos and then they heard the ping for the elevator and Christian stepped out. He greeted them warmly and then the two couples and their security were whisked up to the 54th floor.
The meeting went very well. Becca, Elaine and Bella hit it off and seemed to be on the same page. They were basically handed everything they wanted without so much as a question why until they reached the point that Prince wanted an adjustment regarding the auditions for their roles in the film. "That will push production back a week for the start", Christian thundered as much to himself as to them. "Christian we will be jet lagged and that will be particularly tough for the girls. Would you prefer to have us show poorly and end up with people in this film who know nothing about living the lives told in the story"? "Well that is what actors do", Christian said. "Do you really believe that anyone could play me or Carlos as well as me or Carlos? Do you actually believe any woman could show the world the sweet countenance and intelligence of Bella better than Bella or could be the beautiful, feisty Elaine better than Elaine" Prince asked? Christian put his hands up in a sign of surrender..."alright, alright, you have your extra week! But we better stay on schedule". "We will Prince" said..."we definitely will". Becca and Elaine and Bella were set up to meet on Tuesday of the next week and would meet each Tuesday until the script was film ready. The good news was the screenplay had good bones. The bad news was after they made these initial adjustments, they would not know what else needed changing until they were in production. But, they would handle each challenge as they presented. Christian opened a bottle of Champagne..".we have a plan let's toast to our success". They did and within the next 15 minutes they were in the car and homeward bound.
The couples had dinner with their security team in the kitchen feasting on the left over spaghetti meal. Melvin and Ross cleaned up tonight and then they played some hearts. At about 9:30 Bella and Prince said their good nights and went into their room. Getting out of the sweats that they had donned when they got home, they went into the bathroom and got into the hot Lavender bath that Bella had run. Prince sat behind her and and held her for awhile. He sang The Most Beautiful Girl in the World to her and then they bathed one another and dried each other off. After moisturizing each other, they climbed into bed. He held her and began to sing another song, Sea of Everything to her. As he finished the song, Bella whispered "I am done wandering and I am so happy to have settled down with my Prince who has given me everything". Prince said "thank you Bella" as he held her in his arms. Then they heard Amiir whisper "thank you Momma...thank you Dad...you are hurrying real good and then they heard his giggle. They smiled, both saying "good night son" and went to sleep in each other's arms.
