The New Year, Reality and Comfort, Part 2
Prince's POV
Prince's phone rang, waking him from the comfortable slumber that he had fallen back into after making love to his Bella. "This is Royal" he said with his eyes still closed and his morning voice deep, soft and husky. "Good morning Prince. This is your dad. Are you guys okay"? "Hi dad. Yes we are fine. Why do you ask"? "Your mother and I just saw a story on Cloud Stream about some very unusual happenings near where you performed last night. We just"...Prince's other line was ringing. "Just a minute dad". "This is Royal". "Royal. this is David and Kendra is on the line too. Are you and Bella alright"? "Yes David we are fine. May I call you right back? I was on with my dad". "Of course...can we just call Bella"? "Sure that would be fine"? "Dad"? Sorry that was David and Kendra". "That's okay son. We had seen the story and the little boy mentioned your song and we just needed to know you were okay".
Bella's phone rang and she had just begun to awaken to Prince's voice speaking to someone. She reached over to the bed stand and picking up her phone looked at the time. It was 1:00 PM and it was her father's number. "Hi daddy" she said answering the call. " Hi baby girl...are you okay"? "Yes daddy...we are fine". "Well your mother and I were worried. We saw the story on the news this morning and"..."Daddy...we are fine do not worry. God and Prince and our bodyguards take very good care of me...and I take care of him", Bella said chuckling. Her laughter diffused the worry in her dad as she knew it would. "Say hi to your mother" he said. "Hi mom". "Glad to hear your voice" Kendra said. "You too mom. While last night was a little scary Paris is a beautiful city and we had a wonderful time. Prince and Carlos had original dresses made for Elaine and me by Vilard and we sang on stage with them. Did you see the Angel's hand Mommy"? "Yes your dad and I both did. It was pretty amazing". "Yes it was. We were safely in our room back at the hotel when it happened, so like you we saw it on Cloud Stream. Mom, we were just waking up...know that we are okay and will call you before we leave for California okay"? "We love you baby" Kendra said. " I love you too and so does Prince". "Okay, we will talk to you soon" Kendra said and disconnected the call.
"Yes Dad, Angels are huge, just like you always said that they were". "Your mom was really shocked at their size Royal Sr. said. Well I know I woke you so I will let you go. Give Bella a hug for me and your mom". "Will do dad. We will call once we get home" Prince said just before hanging up. The phone rang again just as he disconnected with his father. "This is Royal". Hi Royal this is Christian. Checking in to make certain you are okay. The Mrs. and I are in New York and we just caught the story about the happenings in Paris. "We are fine Christian, but thank you very much for asking". "When my wife and I saw the Angel's hand frankly, I almost lost it. But since you are okay, Happy New Year Royal. Listen last week we did a focus group in California on the theme of the book with some of the larger bookstores and outlets, both print and streaming. It not only stirred up interest, but we have received 15,000 advance orders. We had released part of the first chapter as the bait for the focus group and the phone hasn't stopped ringing with orders. That number is unheard of Royal. This is going to be a monster of a book. We also got some other interesting feedback. We really need to talk about the book tour". Prince had put the call on speaker when he started talking about the book so Bella had heard everything. He looked at her and she said, "Good Morning or I guess I should say afternoon by Paris time Christian. We will get back late tomorrow and I start classes on the 6th. We land at 5 tomorrow afternoon. Royal what do you think about meeting Friday the 3rd say at about 1 or 2"? "We can do that if you feel you will be up to it", Prince said. "We will make it work Christian if that works for you", Bella said. Christian was busily pulling up his calendar on his notepad. "1:00 works and I will buy lunch he said. See you at the office then at 1:00 on Friday. Safe travels to you", he said as he hung up. Prince's phone rang again. This time it was Carlos. "This is Royal", he said our of habit. "Hey man. Did you get the calls from the parents"? "Yes we did and we also heard from Christian about the book tour. We set a meeting with him at 1:00 PM on Friday. They already have advance orders of 15,000 books from some focus group they did last week. You are welcome to come if you want to". "Let me ask Elaine". Carlos filled Elaine in on the happenings with the book. "She said you bet we will be there man". "Great, oh and Christian is providing lunch", Prince said. "Speaking of food, have you eaten"? "No man...but I am going to call room service. "I was thinking though maybe we would go out for dinner". "Terrific Carlos"said. "What time"? "Say about 6:30-7:00", Prince answered? "Cool I will find the place", Carlos said. "Do you want to call our security team", he asked. "Yes I will let them know...but call me as soon as you know the place because you know Frank is going to want to scope it out in advance". "Okay, I will call you back in a few" Carlos said. Carlos, did both your parents and Elaine's see the Angel's hand? "Yeah man. It was all my mother and Andy could talk about". "Okay talk to you in a bit", Prince said and hung up. He was relieved that all of their parent's had seen the Angel's hand. He now needed to find out if all of the security people did...as well as their wives. If not...they had a problem. It was very clear that all around them needed to be claimed by the Creator. He would find out and soon.
Prince dialed Frank's number. It was busy so he dialed Ross. Ross answered on the first ring. "Hi Prince" he said. "Happy New Year". "The same to you man. I tried to call Frank but his line is busy". "Yes...he is right here. He is getting a lot of phone calls from his sister who is babysitting for his kids and his Mom and other family. They all saw the Angel's hand and it freaked them out. We were sitting together in Frank's room when it came on". "Really" Prince said. "Did you all see it too"? "Yes all of us and our wives. Helen got really freaked out when she saw it. She could not believe Angels were so big. We were playing cards. Do you want to join us? We are in Larry's room". "No, I was calling because we are going to chill but would like to go out to dinner at about 6:30 or 7:00. Carlos is finding a place and will call when he has selected one. I just wanted to give you guys advance notice". "Thanks. I will tell everyone. Enjoy your afternoon...and don't do anything that I wouldn't do" he said laughing. "Ha", Prince said..."that leaves the door wide open. Talk to you later". "Wow...finally" he said. " That was a lot of calls". That hadn't happened in a while...not since they left to be on vacation. Bella pulled out the room service menu and began to look it over. The settled on a brunch selection that included crepe's with strawberries, eggs prepared as they liked. They chose poached. Breakfast sausages that would be both link and patty but were made from Turkey and Orange juice and Coffee. Prince called the order in. The kitchen was busy today the waiter said so it would be about 30 minutes. They said fine and Bella went and ran a bath for them. Prince called housekeeping and asked that their room be serviced in an hour. They got in the tub and enjoyed a luxurious bath and had moisturized themselves and put on their knit lounging pajamas before the food arrived. Prince signed the bill and then they sat at the table with its stark white linens that the food had been delivered on. He said grace and they dug into the food. It was wonderful and filling. They then moved to the mini sofa and turning on cloud stream began to watch an old movie on the English channel.It was A Wonderful Life which they had both seen a million times since childhood, but Bella had to watch at least once every holiday season. Prince had pulled up the two ottomans and they watched with his arm around her and enjoyed it immensely. The maid showed up and cleaned their bedroom, set the dining table out into the hall and called to have it picked up and then polished off the bathroom and the sitting room asking permission to vacuum as they were watching the movie. Since they both knew the script and dialog almost by heart they said sure and were able to go right back to the movie when the maid finished without missing a beat. They watched the movie until the end and then scrolled through the channels until they came to a show that was showing videos. A video of Prince playing and singing Bella's Eyes came on. Right behind it was a modified story of what had happened last night in Paris. This one though emphasized the fact that the little boy had heard a song about Tears In Your Eyes in his mind just before the Angel had appeared to him. Could that be 4 the Tears In Your Eyes that he was referring to, originally by Prince Roger Nelson that had been rearranged by his great nephew The Royal Prince, an American Artist who had an amazing album out in the States and who had sung that song in concert at The Trianon last night as a featured guest of The Paris Jazz Band? The show rolled a video of Prince actually performing the song at The Trianon last night with Bella, Elaine and Carlos singing back up. The phone at the network started to ring like crazy. Where can we get the album? Will he be performing here again soon? The video network was flooded with questions that they could not answer. So calls began flooding the Arista switchboard who called Christian and Andy. Christian called Royal..."did you hear about this he asked after Royal" had picked up the phone? "Yes I am actually watching the show now". " We will also need to talk about a limited album release in France right away", Christian said. Royal smiled...they were really on their way he thought. He said to the Creator..."use me as you will Father"...and heard in his mind the voice of Jesus who said..".We will as We have been doing. Thank you for your obedience my son". Prince and Bella started glowing as he heard the thought as did Carlos and Elaine in the room next door.
Carlos called and Prince told him about the show he had seen and Carlos said yes, Bella had called to tell them and they had seen it too. Prince told him about Christian's most recent phone call and Carlos said..."that's what I'm talking about" with great excitement. I knew something was going on because Elaine and I had started to glow with the glow of heaven. Carlos then said he had made reservations at Pierre Gagnaire...who was known as one of the greatest chefs not only in France, but in the world. Prince thanked him and told Bella. Reservations were at 7:00 PM. They lounged away the rest of the afternoon and then dressed for dinner. Carlos had called Frank who had gone right over to the restaurant to check it out for safety. They would go in limos tonight to be on the safe side even though it was walk-able. It better be good as they were advised to plan for about $225.00 per person. His Platinum Amex would get a workout tonight...but after dinner he would decide it was well worth it. Bella was thinking about what to wear and she decided on a white jumpsuit that Prince had selected for her some months ago that she had yet to wear. It had a dramatic cut out back to it and emphasized her tiny waist.
When Bella told him what she was wearing, he pulled out an outfit that she loved for himself.
They would be stunning as a couple this evening. At 6:45 PM they stepped out of their rooms and joined Elaine and Carlos who were coming out too. Elaine and Carlos were just the opposite of them. Elaine wore black and Carlos wore black with a white turtle neck. They looked amazing. They met their bodyguards at the elevator and once in the lobby the two attractive couples attracted some serious attention. "That is the Royale Priiince" said a young woman with a thick French accent. Some others in the lobby said "we saw your show last night...Magnifique"! As a crowd started to gather around them, Prince smiled and said" thank you so much" and he and his party were whisked out to the waiting limos. They got in and took off. They arrived at the Restaurant at 6:55 PM and went into the lobby. They were seated immediately with the Maitre D' saying "Magnifique" as he looked at the two lovely women. They sat and Prince asked Ross to help them order. He did selecting the house appetizer sampler and then negotiated with the waiter to prepare sample size veal, chicken and langoustine, a lobster like crustacean for 12 with the normal sides of fried potatoes and onions and green beans as well as a salad to begin. The waiter recommended white wine with their choices and so they chose a Souvingnon Blanc. It was delicious. They also ordered the dessert sampler. The food was divine. They enjoyed good company, great dining and wonderful conversation. They asked for the bill at 9:15 PM. Prince and Carlos both presented their Platinum American Express cards with instructions to add a 20% tip and to put 50% of the cost on each card. Prince thanked Carlos for the gesture as he was going to card the whole thing...but at $3000.00 dollars American...he appreciated the assist. Both men however agreed the meal and ambiance was well worth it. As they got up to leave Frank and Larry noted that there was quite a crowd that had gathered outside. Royale, they heard being chanted as they exited the restaurant. There were photographers outside..."did your music bring the Angels" a reporter shouted out in perfect English. "Are you an Angel" another asked? Frank and Larry got them out of there as graciously and quickly as possible. They took the garage entrance to the hotel...but there were photographers there as well. Going up to their rooms quickly Frank noted that there were three men with camera's in the hall near their doors. Frank and Larry had Ross turn off the elevator as soon as the door shut as they went and cleared the men out. Once they were in another elevator on the way down, Ross turned the elevator back on and hit the open door button. The four went to their rooms and went inside quickly. Ross would be outside of Prince and Bella's room all night and Larry would take Carlos and Elaine. Melvin and Frank would spell them at 6:00 AM so that they could get a few hours sleep before their 4:00 PM flight.
Safely back in their rooms, they had experienced a taste of what was to come in a very little while...but they would not worry. They thanked the Creator for getting them back safely, asked for safe passage the next day and then undressed and went to bed. They were thankful for the evening and their very well trained security and the safe return of all involved. Prince noticed the strong glow that they emitted as they climbed into bed and went to sleep.
They woke up early the next morning and decided not to tempt fate and so they ordered in for breakfast inviting Elaine and Carlos to join them. They ate together and decided that after packing they would dare to try to see one very famous landmark...the Eiffel tower where they would also have lunch. The concierge made reservations for 12 at the Eiffel Tower 58 Restaurant with Trocadero seating and Champagne. Their view of the Seine would be very memorable. It was a half day tour. They would need to arrive by 11:30 and would have lunch and then tour. Prince had ordered an outfit for Bella from Chanel and Carlos had done the same for Elaine.
Bella would wear the purple, Elaine the green. The red the two men had ordered in red for Kendra and black for Linda and had them sent to them in the states. The girl's mothers would both be thrilled. Prince would match Bella in purple. Carlos in black with a green shirt. At 10:45 AM Frank had their luggage brought down to the garage level...so far so good, no photographers...and at 11:00 they walked the 4 down to the garage level and got them into the limos. They left quickly taking to the air immediately after leaving the garage.
They arrived at the Eiffel tower and had lunch without incident and then took the tour. Some older people looked at them and clearly recognized them but only smiled and nodded but left them alone. After the tour, they once again quickly got into their vehicles at the Tower's entrance way and took to the sky. They arrived at the VIP terminal at Charles De Gaulle airport at 2:30 PM having left the tour early. Their bags were checked and then taken straight to the plane and they sat in the terminal until 3:30 when they were allowed to board. They were recognized several times but they were only approached once by a 12 year old fan who asked Bella and Elaine and Prince and Carlos for their autographs. She wanted to be a dancer she told them. She was so sweet that they all obliged. They boarded right after that and took their seats. They would land in LA at 5:00 PM or so California time. They were on their way home with many memories to hold dear. They would return to Paris many times in the coming years...but the first time would always be a special memory as the Angels had made themselves known during this visit. It was something that they would never forget...and its occurrence was something that had marked a new juncture in the pathway of their lives. Bella called her mom and told her they had just boarded the flight and would call in a couple of days. They soon heard the familiar voice of Greg Landers. Welcome aboard flight 127 to Los Angeles, California. We will arrive in just under 6 hours and should begin the taxi to the terminal at 5:07 PM California time. So sit back, relax and enjoy. Dinner will be served in two hours. Beverages will be available once we are in the air at cruising altitude. Prince offered Bella a set of headphones which she accepted and they both turned on some music...needless to say his new album was in the set list. Prince kissed Bella on the cheek and took her hand, which he would hold unless they were eating, all the way to Los Angeles. Bella smiled at how attentive Prince was. "Thank you God for this amazing man" she thought. She heard the voice of Jesus say, "you are welcome dear Bella". Smiling, she closed her eyes and became oblivious to everything except the sound of Prince's voice and the touch of his hand holding hers.
