INDIANA JONES
lxxiii. DEMIGOD

╚══════════════════╝

PRESENT
UNDERWORLD

THERE ALWAYS SEEMED TO be a calm that shadowed the big storm. Whether it's a rainbow after a thunderstorm or being reunited with your version of family, Indiana Jones learned the arduous way that good things would always come out in the end. Harmony was something Indiana and Peter didn't get enough of. It seemed that just when they were beginning to settle down, something would continually occur that counteracted the serenity. However, for the first time, Peter Pan was beginning to feel as though things were going to start look up for him.

The emerald-eyed boy woke up the subsequent morning to a warm bed with the covers messily placed over his body. His memories from the day before were a bit hazy, for he originally thought that he was in his apartment back in Storybrooke. However, it didn't take him long to comprehend where he was when he noticed how his legs were tangled with someone else's, along with the fact that he and the other person were, in fact, naked.

Looking down at Indiana's sleeping figure, he couldn't help but smirk. From the way her nose scrunch up in her sleep when she woke up, but chose to keep sleeping, to the way she inhaled with her nose and exhaled with her mouth in her sleep, Peter couldn't help but smile. Just being by her side or essentially being able to see her face-to-face felt like a dream. He would pinch himself, but he genuinely didn't want the dream to end if it truly wasn't real.

"I can feel you staring at me, you creep."

Peter arched an eyebrow at the sound of Indiana's morning voice. He missed it. He missed her. "Creep, huh?" he repeated, a playful and teasing tone to his voice. "That's not what you were saying last night."

A grin voluntarily grew on her face as she opened her eyes and jokingly hit him. "You're such a perv," Indiana commented, propping her head up with her arm. "What time is it?"

"Time for you to get a watch," Peter immediately answered. He was proud of himself for getting used to modern-world language, including the terrible jokes most people made when they were 10.

Indiana rolled her eyes while moving her body closer to his. "I see you've been talking to Henry," she noted. "Or reading through my Anna James diary."

"Diary?" he replied. "I wasn't aware there was an Anna James diary."

Indiana tensed, eyes widening. "That's because there isn't one," she rapidly stated, clearly lying. Peter laughed at this, running his hand through her hair. "You never told me what you thought of my hair."

He shrugged. "That's because your reaction to the truth can end terribly," Peter joked, referring to that night Indiana discovered the truth all those years ago.

A scoff left her mouth as she laughed. "Yeah, yeah, whatever," Indiana responded. "And to think I was actually considering morning sex."

Peter's jaw dropped as the girl started to sit up, the blanket covering her body. "Well, if you mentioned that before—hey, come back here," Peter ordered, reaching out and pulling her back onto the bed. The two found themselves giggling while laying on the bed.

"Peter, you know we have to get up," Indiana told him, laughing more as Peter groaned. He began to press kisses along her neck. "You can't tempt me, Peter Pan, not even—oh, God."

She could feel Peter smirk against her skin. "You were saying?"

Indiana could get used to this.

If there was one thing Indiana Jones couldn't stop doing, it would be making snide comments about the demigod named Hercules. Every time she saw him or every time he spoke, she'd get flashbacks of meeting Snow White, in which Indiana offered to train her because anything done by a demigod was "outrageously outdated."

Standing alongside the Savior, Snow, and Regina, Indiana and Peter quietly waited for Hercules to return from defeating a gruesome beast that ended his life when he was still amongst the living. Though they didn't know that detail yet. All they knew was that if Hercules defeated Cerberus, Hercules could pass onto the other side since it was one of his Twelve Labors. So far, the group seemed to think that everything was going well...

...until an unruly growl was heard from not too far away, along with the sound of a sword dropping onto the floor.

Immediately, everyone started to walk toward Hercules' location, but it seemed that he found them first, a fear-struck expression on his face. The snarling of the creature continued as everyone prepared themselves for battle. Then, it came to a stop as someone casually let out a whistle, putting an end to the growling. "What the hell was what?" demanded Regina.

"I called them off," an all too familiar voice casually mentioned. Indiana immediately narrowed her eyes, clenching her jaw as Hades came into view.

"Who are you?" Emma wondered.

Indiana scoffed, but Hercules beat her to answering the blonde's question by saying, "My uncle."

Peter's eyebrows went up. "Hades?" he asked in surprise.

"Don't look so surprised," Hades responded, strutting in their direction. "What were you expecting?"

Peter shrugged from beside Indiana. "I dunno," he admitted. "Red horns... a tail... a pitchfork, perhaps?"

"If this is your realm, maybe you can answer a few questions," Regina declared stiffly, brushing off Peter's comment. "Like why does this hell-hole look like Storybrooke?"

"I have my reasons, and I don't have to share them with you," Hades answered with ease, suddenly rather tense. It was then when Hercules stepped up, ordering for his uncle to leave his new acquaintances alone. Hades fought back from rolling his eyes. "There's that famous courage people love to talk about. Oh, Hercules, did you really think you could face Cerberus again?"

"Again?"

All eyes fell onto Hercules, surprised and confused. Hades mockingly gasped. "You mean he didn't tell you?" wondered the man.

Snow looked back at her childhood friend and first love. "Cerberus killed you," she realized with gentle words.

"Yeah," Hercules confirmed. "I didn't want you to know. Snow, I couldn't let you down."

"Well, it's nothing to be ashamed of, nephew," Hades mentioned. "After all, losing your life to my little pet is what finally brought us together as family."

"We're not afraid of you," Snow White declared, hatred gleaming in her eyes.

Hades tauntingly gasped again. "Oh... Snow White," Hades started. "Or is it Mary Margaret? My nephew said you were a spitfire, but trust me, you should be quite afraid of me because the next time you interfere with my family, I will come after yours."

Indiana snorted. "That's gold coming from you, Hades," she snapped.

"We aren't going to rest until we find Hook," Emma added.

"Oh, and that must make you Emma," Hades realized, his eyes falling on her. "Since your pirate likes to send you messages, I told him I would deliver this one personally." Hades, then, lifted a shiny hook coated in dry, but fresh blood. "It's not what I've already done you should worry about now. It's what I'm about to do."

Then, he dropped the hook, letting it clatter onto the floor before disappearing a flash of blue flame.

Much later after their encounter with Hades, Indiana Jones sat alongside the woman they found while looking for Killian. Regina, Peter, David, and Emma sat amongst them in silence when David suddenly looked out the window, worry on his face. "What?" Regina wondered upon her name being spoken by the Prince. "Did Mary Margaret talk Muscles into giving it another go?"

"I don't think so," David admitted, walking away from the window as the floor began to shake. Glass shattered onto the floor as the bed from upstairs went crashing through the floor, nearly landing on David.

"Holy shit," Indiana mumbled. "Run! Just go!"

Instantaneously, everyone broke out into a sprint. "Let me guess," Emma began once they were out of the apartment. "The Cerberus?"

"How'd you know?" Indiana sarcastically wondered. "Was it the growling or the 3-headed beast leaping into the bloody apartment!?" Whilst bolting onto the streets of the Underworld, the group found themselves running into Snow and Hercules. "The Cerberus. He found us."

"Where's the prisoner?" Snow wondered in reference the woman they found who still didn't have a name.

"She ran when the monster attacked. We gave her a head start, but there was only so long we could hold it off," Emma informatively told her mother.

"We should split up," Peter suggested. "We have to find her before that monster does." Everyone nodded in agreement before parting ways in 2 groups.

However, it seemed that Snow White and Hercules beat them to it, for just a few moments later, everyone had reunited back at the Blind Witch's Diner. Hercules and the prisoner whose name was Megara were actually friends when they were alive, but had lost memory of each other until being reunited. The two had died side-by-side and now had intertwined fates.

"Looks like Macho Man found a new friend," Indiana mentioned, gesturing to the two sitting together separately from the group.

"Maybe defeating Cerberus wasn't Hercules' only piece of unfinished business," Snow pointed out. "Maybe he needed to save her, too."

"You okay?" Indiana wondered, eyeing her former student.

Snow glanced up at her, nodding. "Yeah." She looked back down before looking at Emma. "You didn't know me in the Enchanted Forest, Emma, but... I was someone who took risks even when she was afraid. I was someone who... I guess, inspired people. An old enemy reminded me of that." Regina gave her a faint smile. "I just don't want to ever run the risk of forgetting who I was again."

"What are you saying, Mary Margaret?" David queried.

Snow stood up straight, declaring, "I'm saying I don't want to be Mary Margaret anymore. I want to be Snow White again."

Regina and Indiana let out a sigh of relief. "Well, it's about time," Regina mentioned as Indiana exclaimed, "Finally!"

David smiled back at his wife. "I think we can make that happen... Snow."

And for just a moment, the Underworld looked just a bit brighter.
