A/N: Ellie x Reader

Summary: Joe is trying to settle into LA as he's trying to run away but when he meets two young girls, he begins to slightly match-make with his girlfriend.

HERE WE GO!

________________________________________________________________________________

Joe's POV:

Gosh, I am so tired. I need to start trying to find a job or something. I head outside of my apartment, holding my coffee cup and observing from above. People. People are predictable. I cannot afford to be predictable. My life depends on that. But love, love is what kept me open, alive, different, real. And I also can't afford to do love, so you see my dilemma. Lady, how many photos does it take? Come on.

"Are you like, 'Lady, come on. How many photos does it take?' Crazy thing is, she never posts any of them." The young girl expresses to me, I glance at her, confused. "That's, like, gotta be a diagnosis, right?" She asks, glancing between me and the woman. Precocious, unsupervised kid who thinks she's not a kid. "Mr. Strauss secretly has six chihuahuas so she walks them in shifts." She continues to inform me, I glance at the woman who is walking a girl and nod my head lightly. "And you?" She asks, I look over at her, slightly surprised by her question. "You are Will Bettelheim," God, kill me for that name. To the mother who decided to marry a man with that last name, I really despise you. "LA newbie." She says, tilting her head. Sounding very charismatic.

"Yeah, that's me." I answer, nodding my head and looking down at my coffee cup, I move it close to my lips, taking a sip of my drink. Who is protecting her—? No, no, she is not my problem.

"What's your Insta?" The girl asks me, as I take a sip of my drink. I swallow, lowering my cup and glancing at her. "Or do you only have a Finsta?" She questions, showing me her phone that's on the search bar of Instagram.

"I'm a little behind the times." I answer in reply, truthfully.

"Clearly." She quips, I send her a glare, sighing softly. "Anyway, I'm Ellie-Eyeballs." She informs me, looking away from me and brushing her hair out of her face. I notice her eyes look me up in down as if she was inspecting me. "So..." She begins, taking a small inhale, resting her forearm on the railing. "you have a girlfriend yet?" She asks me, twirling a strand of her hair. Holy shit.

"Ellie, how old are you? Like 14?" I guess,

"Fifteen. Basically sixteen, so..." She counters, seemingly offended by my guess. She removes her forearm off of the railing and looks away from me. No, she's not my problem.

"It was nice to meet you." I express to her, offering my hand. She glances at my hand before chuckling softly, she moves her hand out and takes my hand, delicately. Shaking it.

"Cool. Manners." She says, sounding very... flirtatious about it. She tenses her shoulders, looking at me excitedly before resting her shoulders. I remove my hand from hers and rest my hands at my hands. I glance down, hearing her speak. "So Delilah, she's not a hooker." She informs me, I glance at her, panicked at her assumption. "It's what you're thinking, right?" No, I'm thinking about how I can quickly get out of this dumb conversation. "Yeah, no, she's a reporter, that guy's a publicist, and he just paid some crazy kill fee to not run something about someone famous." She explains to me, pointing between the two. "It's sick, she's a genius." She compliments,

"Ellie?" Delilah calls on her, looking up between me and Ellie. She storms closer, seeming angry. "No harassing the tenants." She scolds Ellie, I glance between the two. Could they... be sisters? I mean, they definitely act like sisters.

"I'm not. We're old friends." She quips, beckoning her hand between us, making me chuckle softly. She's quick, this one.

"Well, you're late for school, smart-ass." Delilah reminds her. Too young to be Ellie's mom. "Is that my shirt? That's my fucking shirt." Delilah announces angrily, resting her hand on her waist. "How many times...?" Sisters. "Can you please not wear that to school and destroy it, please?" She asks as Ellie begins to walk downstairs, Delilah raising her voice slightly in order for Ellie to hear her. If Delilah counts as parental supervision, it explains everything. Ellie shows herself, beginning to walk toward her, heading toward the gate to leave.

"Look's better on me though." Ellie counters, taking a bite of her Taki.

"Cool story. Any day now." Delilah replies, letting her hand fall to her leg. Note to self: steer clear of their entire red flag galaxy. I pull out my phone, glancing to see if I have any new messages. "Hey." I hear Delilah call on me, I stop and look down at her. "You lay a finger on her, and I will vivisect your individual scrotums." She threatens me,

"She's a kid." I remind her, lowering my head lightly. That is absolutely ridiculous. I might be crazy, seriously crazy but not that crazy.

***

I arrive at Anavrin - Nirvana spelt backwards— Beck... she wore a Nirvana t-shirt when she died. Is she following me? Her ghost is everywhere, I can find her in anything. My god, this feels so ridiculous. I'm hoping to get a job here, I don't know what I'd do, bagging possibly. I could maybe do some carry outs. I could maybe even work at the register, I mean I'm not a bad chef but definitely not the greatest. I can whip something up, something that might not be great but in LA? Does that ever really matter?

"So, no experience at all in sorting or bagging perishables?" The man who is interviewing me asks me,

"Well, I'm a quick study." I answer, confidently. Attempting to assure him. He glances at my resume before looking back at me. He sets it down,

"It's a coveted job. Yeah, all the casting directors shop here." He informs me, using his hand to explain to me. So—"

"—Oh, I'm not an actor." I reply, resting my hand on the table and shaking my head.

"Okay, let me xerox some photo ID and I'll call you ASAP and I'll let you know." He informs me, I nod my head and look down to my left, I pick up my bag and I rest it on my lap.

"Sure thing, ID." I reply, and unzip my bag, moving things around as I pretend to look for my ID. How could I forget? I need ID. I need ID to get a job and I didn't do that. I swear, I am so stupid. I pull out my copy of Crime and Punishment. "Damn." I let out, sighing. "I know— I know I brought it. I just..."

"Are you reading that?" The man asks me, looking at my book as if it was a treasure of gold. I glance at my book then at him. Ah-ha.

"Re-reading." I answer in reply, nodding my head lightly. "It feels like it gets more relevant every day, right?" I try to reason with him, he narrows his eyes, jutting his head forward as he looks at me curiously.

"How... so?" He questions, hesitantly.

"Oh, this guy's struggle trying to get past his mistakes, you know?" I try to reason with him, seeing him hum as he glances between me and the book. "I don't like to get political, but I will say our world is done for if we don't think about that. How to be better." I explain to him, intently, seeing him chuckle softly as realisation hits him.

"I can't believe you just did that." He expresses to me,

"Did...?" I question,

"Made a Russian novel seem like something I'd want to read." He replies, I hum softly and chuckle, shrugging lightly. "Uh, I don't mean to spring this on you... Ever thought about working in a bookstore?" He asks me, I look at him, plastering a smile on my face as I go to answer.

*****

I arrive at work, beginning to walk toward a certain bookcase. My god, LA, you are one crazy city. Filled with people trying to look different and trying to hard to be different. I wish that if there was anything that I could do, it was to be anywhere but here. But if I want to stay off of Candice's radar. I have to stay here. I have to be here.

"Hey, You." I hear a girl say, I turn away from the books that I'm putting away and see a young girl looking at me. "I'm looking for a copy of Crime and Punishment. Have you got one?" She asks me, tilting her head slightly.

"Crime and Punishment?" I question, she nods her head lightly.

"Yeah, why? You some jerk who thinks that sixteen year-olds can't read for shit or something?" She guesses, I begin to shake my head.

"No, no. Just surprised, that's all." I express to her, beginning to walk toward the classics section of the bookstore, her following after me.

"And why's that? Not every LA girl hates reading." She counters, I sigh, nodding my head as I glance back at her.

"Yeah, I see that." I answer in reply, glancing around and dragging my finger-tips along the spines of the books, reading each title quickly before humming and stopping in front of Crime and Punishment. "Ah, here we are." I say, moving out of her way.

"Thanks." She thanks me,

"Ah, talking to another girl, are we, Will?" I hear the voice of Ellie Alves. I sigh, turning to look at her. "Watch out for this one, with his dumb knowledge on crime. He might be after you." She warns the girl, I shake my head looking at her.

"No. No. No, that's... she's lying about that." I assure her, resting my hand on Ellie's shoulder and beginning to direct her away. "Let's go." I say, moving her away.

"Hey, what's your name?" The girl asks Ellie, Ellie glances back at her before looking at me for... validation—? No. She is not your problem, Will— Joe. Joe. I am Joe, playing Will.

"Uh, Ellie. Ellie Alves." Ellie introduces herself, turning her body toward the girl and extending her hand, "And you are...?"

"Y/n. Y/n L/n." The girl introduces herself, glancing at me as she shakes Ellie's hand. "How chivalrous." She replies, sending her a smile and removing her hand. Ellie's hand drops to her side, her glancing at me before looking back at the girl.

"So, what brings you here?" Ellie asks her,

"To read. To buy. To... involve myself in a universe that doesn't exist but can distract me from the world's shittyness." Y/n answers in reply, earning a small laugh from Ellie.

"Seems fair." She replies,

"Do you read?"

"No. No, definitely not. I'm more of a movie girl myself." She answers in reply, nodding her head lightly. Y/n hums softly, tucking her right hand into her pocket.

"Ah, what's your favourite?" She questions, Ellie hums and glances at her up and down. This is definitely a move that she likes to do... Ellie, do you... like her? Ellie hums, turning away from her and walks away yet Y/n quickly walks after her, resting her hand on her back and directing her over toward a seating area. See? I'm not so bad. I just brought these two together, I mean look at cute they are— Oh, my god. I need to focus. Focus. Get started on your happy life where you can be free of... I see a couple making out by the register. whatever that is.

*****

Ellie's POV:

Me and my new friend Y/n are by the pool, sitting on the chairs. I'm tanning and she's reading her book, I glance over at her before turning my body toward her.

"Y/n." I call on her, she hums, not looking away from her book. I look around and grab a roll, chucking it at her face. She glances at the roll falling down her chest before looking over at me.

"Did you just throw bread at me?"

"Well, how else was I supposed to get your attention?" I ask her, looking at her expectantly. Earning a soft laugh from her. She puts the bookmark in the page she's on and shuts the book over. Y/n sits up and turns her body toward me,

"What's up?" She asks me, her voice raspy. Tilting her head slightly and sending me a smile. I return the smile to her, feeling my heart skip a beat.

"I'm bored, and watching you read is getting boring." I express to her, she sighs, pushing herself up and walking to my seat. She sits beside me.

"Well, how can I entertain thee?" She asks me, sarcastically.

"Don't... do that again."

"I'll do what I want, thank you very much." She counters, sending me a small yet joking glare that I return. I groan,

"I don't know. We could actually enjoy our time and swim?"

"Oh, never." She disagrees, "I could never go in the pool, I can be around it but I can't be in the pool."

"Why's that?"

"I'm allergic to chlorine." She answers in reply, my eyes widen in shock as my head juts forward in surprise.

"Wait, seriously?" I ask, she laughs, shaking her head.

"No. Not seriously." She answers in reply, standing up and offering her hand to me, "Come on, let's go." She says, leaning further down and taking my hand in hers. She pulls me up and I stand up, seeing her direct me toward the shallow side of the pool. We're walking along and I suddenly feel myself fall in. I quickly swim above the water line and wipe my eyes, fixing my hair.

"What the hell, Y/n?" I exclaim, annoyed.

"Hey, it makes you less cold." She replies, shrugging lightly. "I did you a favour." She adds, softly. Jumping in beside me and splashing me. I groan, covering my face yet I still get splashed. I sometimes hate the pool.

*****

Joe's POV:

I'm walking home from work as I have too much to think about, however, as I left, Y/n is here. Alone. That's odd, normally she is with Ellie or reading. She isn't with Ellie and she isn't reading. She's staring outside the window and looking somewhat depressed. Hm, I know that I have a lot of things that I need to do but I assure you, I will be better and I am going to prove it. I am a good person, Love. Just let me show you how good and kind I am and you'll truly see the beauty in me.

"Hey, Y/n." I greet her, walking over toward her and sitting down beside her, resting my bag against the chair. Groaning. I'm so tired from today's shift. It felt like forever. "What're you doing here?" I ask her, glancing over at her. Seeing her take a sip of her drink and her eyes slowly move toward me. "Y/n? What's going on?" I ask her, sitting up and leaning over to her.

"Nothing, just..." She sighs, shaking her head and resting her head against the back rest, pulling her knees up to her chest and cuddling into herself. "shitty parents being shitty parents." She informs me, I let my shoulders fall.

"Oh..." I let out,

"Please, don't give me that sympathy bullshit." She pleads with me, I sigh, letting my shoulders fall.

"All right, I won't do something that you don't want me too." I assure her, earning a sigh of relief. "But..." I begin, earning a groan.

"My god, I thought we were getting somewhere good." She replies, softly.

"I was just going to say, but I have had a shitty background as well. My mother wasn't the greatest but I don't want to admit that. I don't think I can admit that just yet. She was always... putting the blame on me whenever she would go off with a man and her boyfriend would get annoyed. Take it out on me. Not knowing the real truth." I confess, seeing her eyes glance between mines. I can tell she feels bad, but I know she doesn't want to say anything. "Until, one day, I got put in an orphanage. She told me she'd get better but... no. She didn't. She didn't get better. I grew up in a shit system where I got bullied for thinking that my mom would come back." I continue onto explain, "So, I... I get it. I get what you mean with the shit parents, so, if you do ever want to talk. I'll help you." I express to her, softly, hearing her chuckle softly. She gets up and I look at her confused, she walks over toward me. I tilt my head slightly, confused on why she's stood up and is walking toward me. She leans down, wrapping her arms around me, giving me a hug. "Oh." I let out, softly. I feel myself smile widely and I wrap my arms around her, patting her back.

"Thank you, Will." She thanks me, softly. Pulling away and wiping the tears I never knew she had. I send a soft smile,

"That's okay— hey, why don't I take you to see Ellie? You can stay the night and if your parents call, let me talk to them." I inform her to do, seeing her eyes soften and a wide smile tug on her lips.

"Really?"

"Yes." I answer, nodding my head lightly. "If... If that's what you want, anyway." I express to her, seeing her sigh contently.

"Thanks, Will. You... You have no idea how thankful I am for this." Y/n confesses, hugging me tightly again. I hug her back and we sway lightly.

"Y/n?" We hear Ellie call on her, Y/n pulls away and quickly wipes her eyes. "Shit, did I walk into something?"

"What, no." I deny, defensively.

"Ew." I hear Y/n say, both of us shivering in disgust.

"Absolutely not." I say, shaking my head and glancing between the two. "What're you doing here, El? Isn't Delilah gonna be mad at you?" I ask her, tilting my head slightly as I move my bag over my right shoulder,

"Delilah said I could come here if it was to see Y/n." Ellie answers in reply, defensively. Y/n turns to her, a look of surprise.

"What?" Y/n asks, in surprise.

"What?" Ellie questions,

"What do you mean Delilah said you could come here if you saw me?" Y/n asks her, tilting her head and crossing her arms.

"Oh, don't act so surprised that Delilah likes you." Ellie replies, rolling her eyes and walking toward Y/n before she shifts, completely. Her gaze softens when she focuses on Y/n. "Hey, what happened? Why're you crying?" Ellie asks her, speaking softly, she rests her hands on Y/n's cheeks before pulling her in for a hug. Ellie clinging onto her tightly, she glances at me before staring at me. Anger filling in her eyes. Oh, now, what did I do? Ellie pulls away and glances at Y/n before looking at me. "Will, what the fuck did you do? What'd you say to her, huh?" Ellie interrogates me, stepping toward me angrily but Y/n wraps her arms around her waist.

"No, no, he... hey, Ellie— Ellie." Y/n steps in front of me and rests her hands on her neck, making Ellie look at her. "He didn't do anything wrong, I promise you." She assures her, speaking softly, I notice Ellie's shoulders fall as her eyes fill with less... anger and more worry.

"B—But what happened? Are you okay? Who upset you?" Ellie interrogates her, resting her hand on Y/n's cheek and stroking her cheekbone.

"I'll give you two some alone time, I'll be outside in case you want a ride home." I inform the two, seeing them glance at me and send me a short smile. I notice Ellie look at Y/n first, resting her left arm around her, leaning into her touch and resting her head on Y/n's chest. Y/n rests her hand on the back of her head and strokes the back of her head. I open the door and step outside, letting the door shut. I peak inside and I look through the mirror, seeing the two discuss and Ellie immediately comfort her. Whatever her parents are doing, it must be serious. I should help her, I mean, it's totally justified, right? They hurt her... I will hurt them.

*****

I get a text message from Love as I'm busy right now, working and I read the message, it saying,

"You should come over to your apartment. Something's going on with Ellie and Y/n." The message reads.

Shit. Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit! Fuck.

It might be because last night, I did a little digging on her parents and turns out, they deserve a lot worse than a silly... little... threat.

***

I arrive at my apartment and I see Y/n on the couch, sobbing and clutching a pillow as Ellie and Love try to calm her down yet it isn't working. Y/n shrieks as Ellie and Love try to calm her down, she chucks the pillow at the wall.

What have I done?

"Fuck! I fucking hate them! I swear, if I just kept my mouth shut, they wouldn't be hospital!" Y/n exclaims, angrily.

"Y/n, it's not your fault. I'm sure that they are going to be fine—"

"—I've been a shit daughter, Love! You don't get it!"

"I promise, I do—" She glances toward the door before she turns to me, "Will, there you are." Love says, sighing in relief. Y/n looks at me and immediately grabs a wine bottle, breaking it and pointing the sharp end at me.

"What the fuck did you do, Will?" Y/n asks me, shouting at me and stepping toward me, I put my hands in the air, shutting both doors.

"Y/n, just calm down. Relax— Y/n, put it down." I say to her, putting my hands up and stepping close to her.

"What'd you do, Will?!" She asks me, angrily. "Wh—What—What'd you—What'd you do?" She exclaims, through choked sobs. "What'd you fucking do?" She asks me, chucking it at the wall and stepping toward me.

"Just relax—"

"—No, fuck you—!"

"—Y/n, I swear, just—"

"—What did you do?" She exclaims, hitting my chest between each word, sobbing. I wrap my arms around her yet she tries to fight out of it.

"Hey— hey, it's okay— Y/n— Y/n! It's okay. It's okay. Shh, it's okay." I try to comfort her, rubbing her back and trying to comfort her. She slows down and begins to sob, clinging onto me. Sobbing. "I know, I know." I whisper softly, resting my hand on the back of her head.

"I didn't— he—he try— oh, god..." She lets out, softly, I nod my head slowly and hold her comfortingly.

"I know, Y/n, I know." I whisper softly, resting my chin on top of her head.

"They—They— He tried too..." She scurries trying to find the right words, I shake my head softly.

"No, no, hey, it's okay. Don't say it if you don't feel comfortable." I say, shaking my head as I know how hard it is to admit your family is... shit. She nods her head, continuing to sob in my arms. I look and see Ellie looking at her with shame and Love is looking at me with a small smile. I return the smile and look down, stumbling back slightly as I feel Y/n stumble and struggle to hold herself up due to how much she's sobbing. My poor girl, I will protect you...

Whatever it takes.

*****

Ellie's POV:

Dude, I can't fucking find Delilah. I seriously don't know where she is and I'm beginning to wonder if there's something going on. I knock on Will's door, wondering where he is. The door opens and it's Love and Will.

"Hey, have you two seen Delilah?" I ask the two, glancing between them, feeling as if I interrupted something. "Oh... does this mean you two are no longer fucking?" I ask, earning a sigh from Will. "Oh, bad timing?" I question, glancing between the two.

"No."

"No." They both answer over one another,

"All right, I'm gonna go bother Y/n." I inform them, "Let me know if you see Delilah." I say to them, turning around and leaving, shutting the door behind myself. I head downstairs and towards the gate, seeing Y/n type in the passcode and open the door.

"Oh, hi." She greets me, smiling softly. "I was just coming to see you." She informs me, as she slightly tilts her head. "Where's your sister?"

"What, why?" I ask, "Have you seen her?"

"No. I was just wondering if I could talk to her. See if she has any updates on the case she's trying to build." Y/n replies, glancing around before she looks in my eyes. "How, has she not came home?"

"Not for a while, it's unlike her." I reply, feeling my eyes fall.

"I'm sure she's just building the case, she wouldn't up and leave like this." Y/n attempts to assure me, resting her hand on my back. I nod my head and move my arms around her, hugging her.

"Y/n, are you okay?" I ask her, removing my head from her shoulder but both of us still holding one another.

"Yeah, why?"

"Nothing, just... last time we saw each other. You were... you know, upset." She tenses, removing her arms and stepping away from me. "Y/n—"

"—I'm fine." She states,

"I know, I just... want to make sure. You... You really worried me. I couldn't help you, and I wanted to do that." I confess to her, seeing her eyes fall to the ground. She offers a small smile, she sends me a small nod.

"Sorry." She apologises, weakly.

"No, you don't have to apologise. I don't want that, I want you to be okay, Y/n." I express to her, she sighs, letting out a soft exhale. Her jaw clenching and her eyes blinking repeatedly.

"I..." She sighs, "I don't know."

"You don't know?"

"I don't know, Ellie. I don't know how I feel." She confesses to me, "At the moment? Numbness, I just... I don't know." She confesses, I lean back into her, resting my head against her chest and hugging her tightly. Clinging onto her. She loosely keeps her arm around me.

*****

I'm waiting in a car, Y/n with me. She was also arrested under the suspicion of me killing my own fucking sister but of course, we're innocent. However, whoever did it, I hope they personally burn to the ground. Oh, and the worst part? The worst part is that they are framing me! Y/n also being framed for her own family being murdered.

I swear, we can't catch a break.

I'm on my phone and I step outside the car, hiding behind something, Y/n beside me as she doesn't want me out of her sight. I feel someone turn me around and I look to see Will, Y/n - however - pushes him away.

"Where the fuck have you been, Will?" She presses, "We needed you, and you weren't there. I tried to call you—!"

"—I'm sorry, I can't talk right now. But you two? You need to leave. I know a person— look, come here." He says, taking us inside the back of Anavrin and he begins to pack a bag for both of us. He stashes 4 stacks of cash in the bag, I lean into Y/n. Tears falling down my face.

"All right, take this. Go out the side doors in case someone follows you. Go to Union Station, get on a train east. Keep going east, okay?" He says, glancing up.

"Will, what is going on—?" Y/n questions,

"—When you get where you're going, call me."

"Where are we going?" I ask,

"To start your life." He answers,

"We have a life. We—We have a perfectly normal life."

"Ellie, you are one of the smartest people I've ever met. Y/n, you as well. You are both smart, and intelligent people." He compliments us, "You can do this, both of you. Together."

"Do what?" Y/n asks him, stepping in front of me and wrapping an arm around me. I hold her hand, scared for what's about to happen next.

"Start over." He aggressively answers, "Find a city. Florida might be a good place to start."

"Ellie's 15—" Y/n reminds him, aggressively.

"—Basically 16, right?" He recounts, my jaw clenches and I try not to cry more than I already have but I can't help it. "When you get there, I will help you both get legal ID. I will send you money, as long as you need it." He explains to me before turning to Y/n, "I will not abandon you." He adds, making Y/n scoff lightly. She sniffles, wiping her eyes.

"Then what the fuck is this?" I protest, Y/n stumbling to the side.

"This is what we need to do!" Will argues, still speaking quietly. I try to think of what to say but all that I can think of is,

"I hate you." I tell him, "You brought the Quinn's into our lives, and you're the reason Delilah and Y/n's parents are gone." I tell him, straight up. Seeing him begin to falter, he blinks repeatedly before sighing.

"I'm sorry, Ellie."

"And now you come in here acting like some kind of hero?" I angrily ask, feeling Y/n rest her hand on my waist. Stopping me from attempting to push him. "Fuck you, Will. Fuck you!"

"I am not a hero. Believe me. You want the truth? I killed Henderson, and I don't feel guilty about it." He confesses, "What I am is all that stands between you and people who are worse. Now, let me help you both." He informs me, his eyes wide and his words completely and utterly messed up.

"You are a monster."

"I trusted you." Y/n states, softly. Will turns to her, his eyes showing how upset he is. "Will, I... I fucking trusted you." She angrily states, pushing him and holding him. "I trusted you, and you fucking do this to us?"

"I am... truly sorry." He apologises, before resting the bag against Y/n's chest. "Side door." He reminds us, Y/n snatches it from him.

"You've ruined my life." She tells him, before turning around, grabbing my hand. Dragging me toward the side door. She opens the door and lets me go first, I leave, her leaving after me and we make our way to Union Station.

"Are we really doing this?" I ask her, holding her hand as we both speed-walk. She wipes a single tear,

"Do we even have a choice?" She asks in reply, not even looking at me.

"There's always a choice."

"Ellie, we..." She stops, making me stop as well. She hesitates, sighing. "We are smart, and we don't need him. We can have his money, but that's all I want from him. I say, we listen to what he says. We go to Florida. We create some sort've plan and we go from there." She explains to me, I feel my heart break.

"I'm scared." I confess, she nods her head.

"I know, I know. I am too. But you heard him, he's gonna get us legal ID and we can get some sort've apartment, maybe a fucking beach house. Who gives a shit? I don't. Whatever you want. We'll figure it out." Y/n explains to me, I nod my head along with her. "We've just... got to do this really difficult thing. And that is to leave, we have to go." She continues onto explain, letting out a soft breath. "I'm sorry, Ellie, but this is all we've got. Just each other and some money." She adds, softly. Shrugging. Letting multiple tears fall.

"Okay." I let out, quietly. I reset my hand on her cheek, wiping her tears. "We got this?"

"We... We got this." She states, nodding her head. I place a kiss on her lips, feeling myself give in. I don't want to hide anymore, I want her and I want to go through this with her. I know that we can at least be somewhat happy, someday. I feel her kiss me back, the kiss being delicate and soft. I melt into her, her melting into me. Our bodies becoming one.

However, we're interrupted when a gunshot goes off. We pull away, looking toward Anavrin. We immediately hear police sirens going off, I immediately cling onto her hand. We begin to run, running to the Union Station and when we get there. We quickly get two train tickets and run to the platform. We finally sit down on a bench, and wait for our train. I lean into her, wrapping my arms around her. She wraps her arms protectively.

"We're gonna be okay, right?" I ask, again. She kisses me. Before pulling away and sending me a soft smile.

"Yeah. Yeah, we're... we're gonna be okay." She states, nodding her head. Placing a kiss on my head. I take a deep inhale in before we continue to wait. Neither of us saying anything to the other.

I really hope everything works out.
