Camila POV
I woke up the next morning and felt Shawn's arms tight around me. I smiled at the feeling, but I knew it was time to wake up.
But am I considered late even if the boss was the one who held me back. Does that make sense? No? Okay.
,,Shawn? It's time to wake up. I don't want to be late in my first day." I said and he chuckled while he opened his eyes lightly.
,,I'm sure that your boss wouldn't mind. Morning..." He said in his morning voice and that sounded so damn hot.
,,Morning." I said and with that I got out of bed after picked his lips.
,,Come back here..." Shawn said and pulled me back in bed.
,,Shawn, Skylar is going to be here any minute and we're still in bed." I said as he started leaving small kisses on my cheek and neck causing some goosebumps and butterflies and I tried so hard to ignore them, but he was making it worse. ,,Shawn..." I said feeling my breath getting heavier.
He continued kissing me and I couldn't help, but give in. I layed back in bed and he got on top off me kissing my neck trying to find my weak spot. As he found it, I let out a moan and I could feel him smile against my skin.
He continued kissing that spot and I locked my fingers in his hair to hold him there. Suddenly, the interphone rang, but that didn't make Shawn stop.
,,Shawn.... I-It's S-Skylar...." I said and he stopped. I kind of wanted him not to, but I knew there was no time for that.
I stood up quickly from the bed and made my way to the interphone.
,,Get changed!" I shouted before I answered the interphone. ,,Skylar?"
,,That's me." She said and I opened the building door with the interphone. I also opened the apartment door and waited for her to get there.
I was a little embarrassed to be in my pajamas, but I blame it on Shawn.
,,Good morning!" Skylar said friendly as she entered the apartment and started taking her shoes off.
,,Morning! I wanted to ask you something." I said and closed the door behind her.
,,Sure. What is it?"
,,How comes you don't have lecturers in the morning?"
,,My teacher is sick and my whole classes are online now. Not really cool, but at least I've got time for a job." She said and I realized that that means at some point I'll need a new babysitter.
,,How long are you going to be able to babysit?" I asked her.
,,For the rest of the month for sure, but when I'm not going to be able to babysit I've a friend who would love to take my place. She dropped college for music and needs some extra money." Skylar said.
,,That's so cool. Then I don't need to find a new babysitter later." I said and right then Shawn exited the bedroom.
,,Hi, Skylar." He said and Skylar smirked at me like she knew something.
Oh right.... As I introduced her to Shawn I said he was my friend.... We weren't dating then.... Ups...
,,Good morning." Skylar greeted Shawn.
,,I'll get changed and we've to go to work. When Riley wakes up, her food will be already in the kitchen. So, you don't have to worry about that. You have my number if anything happens or whatever. Okay?" I said.
,,Okay." Skylar said and I quickly ran in the bedroom to get changed. I put some basic black jeans and a shirt on. Next, I quickly got in the bathroom, put my hair in a low ponytail, made my simple make-up as fast as I could and then exited the bathroom.
,,Ready." I said to Shawn as I found him in the living room with Riley in his arms and talking to Skylar. ,,She woke up?" I asked.
,,Yep. She woke up to say goodbye. Right, Riley?" He asked her and kissed her cheek.
I could scream as how cute they were looking. In that exact moment, I knew that that's how I want my life to look like from now.
,,You are gonna be a good girl, right? Of course you will. Mila loves you. I'll see you later, baby girl." I said and kissed Riley's cheek while Shawn was still holding her.
He placed Riley on the couch, we put our shoes on and then left. It felt so weird to leave her, but I needed to work so I had no other choice.
We walked to the praxis because it was close and we didn't need to take Shawn's car or the cab. Shawn held my hand the whole time and I loved the feeling.
As we got at the praxis, we noticed that Liliana and Addison were already there. They were probably waiting for Shawn to come and unlock the praxis.
Shawn didn't let go of my hand even as he searched after his keys in his pockets and neither as he unlocked the door.
Addison was smirking at me and pointing at our interlocked hands. I gave her an "I know, right" look and we both started giggling.
We entered the praxis and everyone knew what to do besides me. Liliana sat at her desk right next to the door and Addison entered a room that was probably her office.
,,Okay so.... You have already been here, but I'll still give you a tour." Shawn said and I smiled at him. ,,So...there's my office. You already know that. The room right next to it is your office and the other room next to yours is Addison's office. Liliana is going to send your patients in your office so you don't have to worry about that. Oh and there is the bathroom. That was your tour."
,,Thanks, guide." I said and he chuckled. ,,I'm going to make the shopping list quickly and I'm gonna bring it to you when it's ready."
,,Okay." He said and kissed my cheek before I walked in my office, sat at the desk and started writing on a paper what I needed.
I didn't write too much stuff, just the ones Riley and I really needed. Like food and baby food for Riley, diapers and baby milk.
As I was ready and wanted to exit my office, a patient got in.
,,Good morning, Doctor Cabello. I'm Mrs Davis. I'm here for my appointment." The woman said friendly with a smile on her face.
,,Good morning, Mrs Davis. Take a seat. I will be right back." I said and as she sat on the dental engine, I quickly exited the office and entered Shawn's.
He was already a patient, so I put the list on his desk and said:
,,The list."
,,Okay." He said smiling at me and then concentrated back on his patient.
I exited his office and entered mine again.
,,I'm sorry, Mrs Davis. I just needed to give something to Doctor Mendes." I said.
,,No worries." The woman said and then I started to work on what she told me the problem was.
There were patients after patients. I didn't know Shawn's praxis was so well known. Now I understand why he hired me AND Addison. How could he treat all of this patients all by himself!?
The time passed and it was time for our lunch break.
,,Okay, Mr Thomson. Is there anything that disturbs you now? Or does it feel okay?" I asked my last patient before the break.
He closed his mouth trying to feel if there was anything out of place after I treated him.
,,Everything is perfect. Thank you, Doctor." Mr Thomson said and that's when Shawn entered the office.
,,Then we are done here. You can go to Ms Weather and talk about the costs." I said to the patient.
,,Goodbye, Doctor Cabello. Goodbye, Doctor Mendes." He said and went to Liliana.
,,You ready?" Shawn asked and walked closer to me.
,,For now, yes." I said, stood up and placed my palms on the back of his neck.
,,You wanna go and grab lunch at the cafe across the street?" He asked and put his hands on my hips.
,,Yep. I just need to call Skylar and check on Riley." I said and he kissed me.
Like every single time I felt my legs getting weaker at the feeling of his lips against mine. He had such an effect on me and I was wondering if he knew it or if I had the same effect on him.
,,Ahm...Doctor Mendes?" I heard Liliana's annoying voice and as we broke apart I saw her standing at the doorframe.
,,What's wrong?" Shawn asked trying to not sound annoyed.
,,I just wanted to say that I'll go and get lunch. I wanted to ask if I should bring you some." She said and I gave her the biggest killer look I ever gave someone in my entire life. She noticed it and only smirked at me.
,,No thanks. I'll have lunch with Camila." Shawn said and I needed to add something, so I did.
,,His girlfriend." I added and that made Liliana roll her eyes at me. ,,I need to call Skylar." I said taking my phone from my desk and calling Skylar.
I waited for her to pick up and it took a while, but she did.
,,Camila. Hi!" I heard Skylar on the other line.
,,Hey, Skylar. I just wanted to check on you and Riley. Did you have problems?" I asked and noticed that Liliana left and I was thankful.
,,Everything it's perfect. She cried a little as you left, but she calmed down after I feed her and played a little with her." Skylar said.
,,She cried? Really?" I asked and Shawn's facial expression changed into a worried one.
,,Yes, but it's normal. All kids and babies cry when their parents leave.... You know what I mean with parents..."
,,I do. Don't worry. What is she doing now?"
,,Sleeping. After we played, she immediately fell asleep."
,,That's good. I'll see you later, Skylar. Bye!"
,,Bye, Camila." She said and we hung up.
,,Why did Riley cry?" Shawn asked worried.
,,Skylar said she cried a little as we left. She said it's normal when kid's....parents leave.... But I don't get that. Riley didn't cry as Nina suddenly wasn't around anymore." I said.
,,You have the doctor appointment today. Maybe you can ask why, but she probably didn’t cry because she didn't realize Nina left."
,,She didn't realize that her mom isn't there anymore, but she realizes that we left? That doesn't make sense."
,,Maybe she was too young to realize."
,,One week younger."
,,I don't know Mila. I'm a dentist not a baby psychologist." He said and his words made me laugh lightly.
,,I'm sorry..." I said hoping he wasn't mad. I always overthink, but I can't help it. It's not like I can control it...
,,Don't be sorry. I can understand that you want to know. It's nothing wrong with that. I'm trying to help you as much as I can, but I'm a dentist just like you. All I know about babies is that they don't have teeth so there are no babies included in our job. This is where my knowledge about babies ends. I need to improve that." He said and his words made me giggle.
,,You wanna get some lunch to feed your knowledge?" I asked and he chuckled.
We went together to get lunch at the cafe across the street, but before we went there, I entered Addison's office to ask her if she wanted to join us, but she was nowhere to find. I guessed she left to eat lunch with someone else, so I let it be.
Shawn and I joked all the time and had so much fun like we always do when we're together. The lunch break wasn't that long so we didn't spend much time at the cafe, but the amount of time we spent was just enough.
