(Author's Note: Hello there, everyone! Before we continue... don't forget to take a look at my reading list, there's a few books there I suspect you guys might like it!
So here we are, the final(?) chapter of the OVAs special I promised you guys. I hope you all liked these chapters, they aren't really full of action, special this last one, but at least is something while we wait for the manga to develop a little bit more. I plan on writing a few special chapters, The Steam Powered Hero OVAs if you will, but I'm not too sure yet, hell, I even had a few ideas for a MOVIE (Well, not exactly a movie but a series of a few chapters, maybe 3, movie length with an exclusive adventure as the movies do) but this I'm REALLY not sure I can pull it off, it's a possibility. One more thing, I think you guys might have noticed in the last chapter, in this one you'll see too, I'm writing Y/N instead of (Y/N), let me know which one you guys prefer, I think just Y/N looks a lot more natural, idk... short chapter today, I'm sorry to say, I hope you guys like it nonetheless. Kaito, Jiro and Hagakure keep moving forward in their little side mission to get the emergency power online, which will help a lot in the rescue operation. The darkness of the lower levels of the mall doesn't make their job easier, their only source of light being a cellphone.
Hagakure leads the two lovebirds to the sign she spotted earlier, conveniently pointing the way to the backup generator.
They enter a small room with a few machines and gauges everywhere, the room looks a mess, and somewhat old compared to the other things on the mall. And, as you'd expect, there it was, the backup generator, covered with dust and webs.
"Alright..." Kaito puts his girl-... girlfriend down, haha, almost got you. "Hagakure, hold Jiro for a second. I'll take a look at this generator."
"Okay!"
Kaito stepped forward, dusting off the generator a little bit, he then kneels down to take a better look.
"Oh! I see... this should be easy!" He grabbed the generator's starter cord, then pulled it. The generator made noise, sounded like it was going to start, but it didn't. "Huh?" He scratched his head. "Maybe I didn't..." he tries again. Nothing happens.
"I thought you knew how that stuff worked?" Hagakure wondered.
"Hey, I know how a steam engine works, not a generator." Kaito looks around the generator, fix a few wires, tries again, but nope... "This usually works..."
Jiro on the other hand looked around the room, found hanging on the wall what looks to red cape book.
"Hey, I found the manual." She grabbed it.
"A manual?"
"Catch!" She throws the manual to the Steamboy.
"Hm-hmm..." he looks at it, pondering. Then smacks the generator with it. Starting the generator.
"Problem solved!"
The light in the room lights up, as does all the other lights around this level, and presumably the whole mall.
"Nice one!" Hagakure praised. "Now it's going to be easy!"
"Uh-hum. C'mon, let's find the others!" Kaito takes Jiro in his arms again, and they head out.
The three follow the signs leading up, to exit this madness once and for all, and now that they can actually see where they are going, it's a lot easier. A few steps later, Jiro stops the other two, hearing something.
"Wait, you guys hear that?" She pays attention, trying to discern what it is. It sounds like water flowing around somewhere.
"Sounds like...water?" Kaito looks around, and he sees that a few cracks on the walls are leaking water. "Oh I've got a bad feeling about this... let's just get outta here."
The three proceed forward as fast as they can, the signs on the pillars lead to another set of stairs leading up, the thing is, they're blocked by a bunch of debris from the earlier earthquake.
"Dang it! There has to be another way!"
Kaito looks back and notices the cracks where the water is leaking from, are cracking open even more, and it's not gonna last long.
"Stay back, Hagakure..." he takes Jiro to a safe position behind one of the pillars. "I'll blast our way forward." He aims his quirk at the debris and fires his steam cannons, blasting the path clear.
The two take the stairs to a upper level, where they find other students.
"Hey! It's Kaito, Jiro and Hagakure!" Sato points out, joining the other team, followed by his own.
"What happened? Is everyone ok?" Ojiro voices his concern, seeing Jiro is being carried by her BF.
"Mostly... Jiro sprained her ankle when we fell during the first tremor." Kaito explained. "Have you guys seen Shoji and the others?"
"Not yet, we barely made it through this mall with the lights off."
"What are we gonna do now, Atsuhito? The water levels!" Mineta weeps.
"What?!"
Another tremor hits, this time more water starts to flood this level, the floor from the level above falls on them, luckily they managed to avoid it in time.
"Let's keep up! We need to get to a higher level!"
The team takes the stairs up, in the level above they found the last members of the team, with the victim at hand.
"Shoji! Sero! Ashido!"
"Man, we're glad to see you guys! This place is a nightmare!"
"We found the missing person!"
"Great! Let's get outta here!"
Team B heads for the stairs, Shoji and Ashido made it through with the victim, but the others were blocked by another ton of debris in the way, the whole place is falling apart.
"We'll help you out!" Said Ashido from the other side.
"No! Ashido! Listen to me! You and Shoji get to safety, we'll find another way up!" Kaito retorted.
"But-"
"Just do it!" As he said that, the lights went out. "We'll meet you on the other side!"
Now with the lights out, and the only way forward blocked, the team starts to panic. But not Kaito, he cold bloodedly looks around for a way out, and there it was, he could see the lights of two elevator shafts leading straight up.
"I've got it! Let's take the elevator!"
"But without power-"
"Trust me. It's gonna work."
The team follows it's leader to the elevators, Kaito looks up, he can see the light of day up there through a hatch, and, of course, the elevator's cable is nowhere to be found.
"What are we going to do?"
"The water levels are rising, and I can't swim!"
"Listen up! We'll send whomever is injured first. Sero, use your tape as seatbelts, Mineta, place your balls(?) above the elevator."
"Why's that?"
"They'll absorb the impact."
"But how are we going to make this thing go up?" Sato wondered.
"Can't you simply fly us up there?"
"With the water levels rising like this? Can't risk leaving anyone behind."
"Sato, can you lift the elevator?"
The big man had a determined look as he grabbed a sugar cube to power his quirk.
"You got it!"
Sato raises the elevator with the first students already in it.
"What now?"
Kaito goes under it, then places his hands at the bottom of the elevator, blasting it up with his steam thrusters.
The elevator goes up, and just as planned, Mineta's quirk hold it in place up at the top.
"Next one, go!" Kaito orders as the water levels rise even more, the mall is falling apart.
The last students embark, only Kaito and Sato are left.
"Go, Sato!"
"What about you?"
"I'll fly up! Now go!"
Sato let go of the elevator, then jumps in it, the others help him up. Kaito's steam thrusters managed to keep it leveled, then in another blast he sends the elevator up.
But there isn't time to celebrate, the floor under Kaito collapses, for a second he seemed lost for the others.
"Atsuhito!" They yelled. Then Boom! Kaito goes flying up.
Another tremor makes the what's left of the mall to collapse over his head, Kaito dodges the falling debris on his way up to the top. A big chunk of the roof manages to hit him, sending him dazed to the ground of the top level. Lastly, the rooftop falls, it seemed to be the last of the Steam Powered Hero, surely the teachers would come to save him... but."
"Twirling Tail Dance!" Ojiro knocked away the falling debris.
"Acid Shot!" Ashido melts the danger away.
"Sugar Rush!" Sato punches the falling debris.
"I've got him!" Shoji grabs Kaito, putting him back on his feet. Finally the whole mall collapses over their heads, Shoji takes a hold of everyone, and Kaito blasts his steam thrusters, finally exiting this nightmarish place.
They fall down, exhausted. Kaito then stars laughing.
"You're laughing? You were almost crushed to death and you're laughing?" Ojiro questioned, intrigued by his reaction.
"That... was so much FUN!"
"No, it wasn't..." Shoji retorted, thinking about it. "Ok, maybe it was a little bit."
And everyone laughed.
