I was in a frenzy as I searched the school for Violet only to figure out she didn't come and neither did her brother.  My heart sank, I had to talk to her, I had to try and buy more time.  I called my mom to see if they had begun practicing or been by, they hadn't.  I worried that they wouldn't, that they would just abandon the effort altogether.

I shook those thoughts from my head as William grabbed my shoulders.  "E, you need to calm the fuck down."

I glared at him.  "She's not here."

He dropped his head.  "I don't know her well, but do really think she would just disappear?"

I closed my eyes.  "No, not when she has a contract to fulfill.  She is true to her words if nothing else."

He nodded.  "Good, but man... you can't go running around and snarling at people all fucking day.  Either go home and get yourself together or take a breath and finish the school day."

I pursed my lips.  "I'm no-"

His face had are you kidding me written all over it.  "You bit Brenda's head off, you cussed out the whole football team, hell you glare at the teachers who are trying to figure out why you are not in class."

I sighed.  "She's leaving... Saturday night..."

His eyes widen.  "The girl last night was her?"

I shook my head.  "Do you think they'd be alive now if it was?"

"One of her pack."  I nodded.  "That's fucked up, but what will you do?"

I pursed my lips.  "I don't think there anything I can do, I just... if we would have acted sooner then maybe..."

He sighed.  "Our pack is sorry as hell man, even I see that especially after getting our asses handed to us.  They had blindfolds and were tied up, but still it took nothing to take us down.  Apparently a few of us can't even respect the fact that someone says no.  We need to fix it, otherwise what good are we when we become the leadership."

I nodded.  "She... said the same thing and she has a pack of her own to look over, but does she really have to leave to do that?"

He crossed his arms.  "If another pack were to do half the shit we've done to them..."

I bit my lip.  "Thats true."

"I saw her, the way she tried make it so the fights were fair, though our pack thinks they were showing off.  She was getting frustrated with all of it, she was disappointed.  I'm pretty sure she's not just leaving for our pack, but so you can focus on getting ours together too.  Because you will be distracted if she is here."

He furrowed his brow.  "One sound and her pack fell in line.  She said for them not to touch us, they didn't question it.  Hell, we hurt one of their own and not one even retaliated and I know she told them not to.  I'm not saying that we need to be that strict, but man how many times have you told us not to touch them?"

I heaved a breath, hearing the truth in his words.  "Yeah... doesn't make it feel any better."

He pat my shoulder.  "I know, but the truth hurts.  They are scheduled to be here after school, I can guarantee that they will be.  There is nothing you can do until then."

I felt a sense of relief and sighed continuing to work with my brother on the sound.  "Nic! Let's do it!"

He groaned as the music started.  "But... I just went!"

I smirked as he started.  "I do have a love hate relationship with our little rule."
