Haider pulled her for a hug but Amaal placed her palms on his chest and pushed him back. Then, she slapped him, hard.
'Snap out of it, Haider.' She reprimanded him and held his collar,
Haider was shocked, he could feel heat radiate from his cheek as he held it. The sound of the slap rang in his ear.
'I am going to sleep with Phoupi.' Amaal kept talking as she walked towards the balcony and locked the door, - 'in case, in your state you accidentally jump off.' Then, she marched out of the door and shut the door, from the other side she called, - 'I am locking the door as well, in case you run away.' – she paused, - 'the window will be opened for ventilation.'
Haider exhaled loudly, running his palms over his face and clenched his hair.
