It was a beautiful Sunday evening. The wind flowed in a steady motion brushing against everyone cheeks making them shiver in excitement. Even then, there was an eerie feeling in the little, quiet town off the coast of Maui, Hawaii. No one noticed this though as they sauntered on the beach listening to the deafening sound of the waves hitting the surface. As the sun sank behind the dunes and everyone started to head up to their cars, one girl stayed. She had been strolling on the beach for endless hours. A young man in a dark jacket crept behind her. He knew the girl maybe a little too well. He brushed his hand through her auburn hair. She jolted at the feel of his icy hands.

“Jessica,” he whispered in her ear. She didn’t dare look him in the eye.

“Andrew, what the heck is more important than a history final due tomorrow, Andrew?” her voice was faint as she pushed herself to keep moving. “This must have been real important for him to need me here at 10:00pm,” she thought. After a brief pause, an ear-piercing scream sounded over the darkness. No one spoke another word in the dark of the night.
