Shit, I'm twenty weeks pregnant today, so that's like officially halfway through. I have my scan booked for Monday; I hadn't really thought much about if I wanted to find out if it's a boy or girl, but like, everyone keeps going on about how it will be much easier for me to prepare. But honestly, I don't think I'm going to go all-in on the pink or blue only stuff. Sam is adamant that his nephew must be called Harley, I kind of like the name, but I don't think that this baby is going to be a boy.

20 Weeks Pregnant

You've reached the halfway point in your pregnancy, woohoo!

Your baby is growing quickly and will now measure about 16.5cm long, head to rump and around 25cm from head to heel: around the size of a beef tomato. They will still be having fun turning somersaults providing there's enough space!

You will have your anomaly scan sometime during or around the twentieth week; during this scan, your baby will be measured to make sure their growth is on track

You will have your anomaly scan sometime during or around the twentieth week; during this scan, your baby will be measured to make sure their growth is on track. Your baby's major organs will be checked to make sure they are developing as they should; amniotic fluid, placenta location and fetal heart rate will also be examined. You may even be able to find out the gender too, if you want to, of course.

Your baby can hear your heartbeat and outside noises such as music.

I'm spending Christmas with my parents, I was supposed to be spending the night, but Steph, Matt and the kids turned up, so there's no room at the inn for me; who knew I had so much in common with the Virgin Mary? And I know they're only spending the night because they want my parents to look after the kids while they go out and if they're too hungover to get up in the morning with the kids, well, it won't matter, will it? Because my mum and dad will get up with them.

I think this is the first Christmas Day in years that I've woken up without a hangover, I mean I still felt pretty crap, but it was better than being hungover from the previous night. And waking up with Stanley cuddled up next to me, well, that was lovely too. And, like, even though I was looking forward to going to my parents for the day, I didn't want to leave him home alone all day, so I took him with me too. My mum moaned, of course.

The day was okay, I guess, Christmas dinner was good. But it was after, that the day started to go downhill, everyone drank too much and I was left to entertain my nephew's, all three of them! And do you know what presents they gave me this year? Little knick-knacks the same as every year, and then two envelopes — one had a voucher for a couple of hairdressing refresher courses and the other was an IKEA gift card for when I moved into my new house! And like, yeah, they were expensive, but going back into hairdressing wasn't confirmed and I didn't even have a new house to move in too! Happy-bloody-Christmas to me!
