This weekend away in Bristol was going to be perfect for forgetting all about Will and his new girlfriend — I suppose she was still called a girlfriend even if she was old enough to be his mother.
Chugging the vodka down my neck it's hard to believe that I'd planned on detoxing and giving up alcohol — Sober October, that's what they call it. As if I'd be able to do that! No, the plan was to drink as much vodka as my body could take, and then make myself throw up and drink some more.
"C'mon, let's get down to the bar and get this weekend started," Aaron said.
To be honest, I don't know what was taking them so long, I'd got the weekend started hours ago, with that cheap bottle of wine I'd necked on the train.
"Are you up for some of this?" Aaron asked while holding up a small bag of white powder.
"No," I told him, drinking too much was one thing, but I didn't want to go completely off the rails again.
I thought the night was going to be so much fun but by ten-thirty, I was back in the hotel room with a massive stinking kebab. I'd peaked too soon, so while they were getting wasted in some club, I was texting Will.
He didn't reply. The bastard.
Oh, well, there's always tomorrow.
