"I Promise "

A few days later. At my house. In the kitchen. 

I asked amused "not that i am complaining about you making pancakes for me, Charming, but are you okay?"

Charming "can't i be there for my sister-in-law?"

Snow was leaning against the kitchen counter holding baby Neal. 

Me "this is about Hook"

Charming "no"

I looked at Snow. 

Snow looked at Charming "David"

Charming put his hands on his hips and turned to me, sighing "fine. It's about Hook. With him moving in, things are gonna be different. We won't get to see you as much as we want"

I shook my head "Hook being here is not gonna change anything. you can come cook me breakfast whenever you want. "

Snow nodded "this is good. Things are getting back to normal"

Henry walked into the kitchen "you ready for your first day back at school, Grandma?"

Snow nodded and handed Neal over to Charming "you know it"

Suddenly Regina and Dr. Jekyll walked into the house. 

Snow "oh, this can't be good"

Regina "we need to talk"

We walked into the corridor. 

Charming "whatever this is, we'll take care of it"

I looked at Snow "you and Henry get to school"

Charming nodded "Remember - back to normal"

Snow and Henry walked out. 

Me "what's wrong? shouldn't you be in a lap working on a serum?"

Jeykll "i am afraid there's been a complication"

Regina "it's Hyde. He's escaped"

My jaw dropped. 

Jekyll "i was at the lab until early morning. When i returned to my room at Granny's, i found this"

He showed us a necklace "It belonged to a woman i cared deeply for. Hyde knew. He's trying to taunt me with it. 

Me "we need to get you back to the lab. Now we don't just need the serum to defeat the Evil Queen. We need it to finish Hyde. "

In the lab. 

I walked over to the group "Guys, i just got a call from Hook. Gold trapped Belle on the the Jolly Roger with some kind of protection spell. He thinks Hyde's coming after her. "

Jekyll "the Dark One's wife? I thought she was under a sleeping curse"

Regina "It's always out of one prison, into another with her"

Charming "i don't get it. Why would Hyde go after her?"

Emma "we need to speed this up. Are you close with the Serum?"

Jekyll grimaced "i am afraid i've hit a bit of an impasse"

Charming "all right. What about Gold?"

Jekyll"you think he'd be willing to help us?"

Me "you told us he helped you finish the original serum, and he wants Hyde gone just as much as we do. Regina, you think you could talk to him?"

Regina nodded "yeah, i can talk to him"

I nodded "Charming ad i will track down the Evil Queen and Hyde. Call us when the serum's ready"

Charming "Leroy, you and doc and Emma keep an eye on things here"

Leroy "yeah, don't worry, brother. We've been keeping an eye on things the day we hatched"

I nodded and we walked out. 

In the woods. 

Me "can i ask you something, Charming?"

Charming nodded "of course"

Me "are you sure you're okay with me and Hook?"

Charming "even as much as i hated that pirate when i first met him, if you're happy, so am i"

I stopped walking when i sensed a presence. 

Charming looked at me "what?"

Me "we're not alone here"

Suddenly i heard behind me "indeed! you found me"

I turned around and aimed that electroshocker thing at him  "Hyde"

Hyde "oh, did you really think i would let you defeat me with that again?"

I turned the thing on and he dodged the attack. 

Charming went to shoot him with his gun but Hyde knocked it out of Charming's hand. 

Hyde threw Charming a couple feet away.

Me "David!"

I rushed to him. 

He groaned in pain. 

Me "you okay? Charming?"

I saw Hyde running away. 

At the docks. 

Charming covered Hyde's and Jekyll's bodies with a blanket. 

Hook had killed Jekyll in self defense and it turned out that Jekyll's death also caused Hyde's death. 

I walked over to Regina who was looking at the water "you okay?"

Regina "i have to die"

My jaw dropped "what?"

Regina "to stop the Evil Queen, i have to die. That's how it works. That's not the only bad new i got today. We all thought Jekyll was the good one. But even though he separated himself from the darkness ....the capacity for evil remained. "

Me "and it remains in you."

Regina " It can grow back at any time"

I shook my head "you are stronger than Jekyll"

Regina "Maybe. but if i am not... Back in Camelot, when you were the Dark One, you said you trusted me to do what it took to keep your family safe. I need you to promise me you'll do the same thing if it comes to that. "

I shook my head "i won't let it come to that"

Regina "Promise"

I sighed "Reg"

Regina "Echo, please"

I nodded "i promise"
