A few days passed,

and Hana was slowly getting used to her new life.

Hana was helping her mother cook dinner,

which became a normal thing for them both.

Hana would chop the vegetables and the ingredients,

and her mom would handle the actual cooking.

She was humming a tune from a song that she liked.

Although she couldn't remember the title,

Hana sang the parts that she does remember.

"Mom?" She muttered, putting the knife on the table,

looking straight at her mother.

"What is it, sweetie?"

Her mother turned around to face her.

"…Do you think I'm living my life?"

A pinch of sorrow lurked across her face,

mixed with a drizzle of anxiety.

Hana's mother embraced her head,

putting her daughter's ear in her chest.

"Do you hear it?"

She remarked.

"Yes…"

"As long as it beats, one should never lose hope."

"What do you mean, mom?"

"…I lost your father back then.

And, I almost lost you before."

A sigh broke out of her mom's lips.

"But I never gave up. I knew whatever storm that comes my way will pass. I never gave in to my fears.

That's what it means to live, Hana."
