Anger?
Melancholy?
Regret?
Nao didn't know what to feel.
Nao felt his eyes tear up involuntarily,
as though he had wanted to say something for a long time―
but he couldn't.
He felt his legs give out on him,
due to his tiredness and the rushing of his emotions. The young boy fell down on his knees,
his tears rushing towards his cheeks.
It was as if he returned back to his childhood...
and for a split second, experienced innocence again.
"I... left you all because... I thought you all hated me."
Nao spoke in between hushed sobs.
"I... missed you all.
Everyday... with regret.
With anger that I hoped wasn't reciprocated."
He wiped off his tears with his sleeve,
but more tears just came flowing out.Nao remembered how he couldn't manage to make friends after everything that's happened.
He remembered how everything could've been solved if he had paid more attention to everyone.
Sumika stood up and came near Nao,
also kneeling on the same level as him."Nao, I'm sorry for saying such words back then―"
She embraced the boy who was on his knees,
and held him tighter than she ever did."...I missed you too."
